I’m going to keep this one short, If you’ve ever seen a cute slice-of-life anime before you already know what to expect with this one…
Over the duration of the anime nothing really happens, girls working in a cafe make more friends over time… thats it really! There is a tiny bit of character development doesn’t really seem to be much of a plot line to this series at all. It is simply a light-hearted story of a group of girls living their daily lives and joking around and having some laughs along the way.
...
If your looking for an anime that you can sit back and smile at, then this maybe the one for you.
The characters aren’t anything special, there is the shy and quiet Chino, the very ditzy Cocoa. Sharo (who’s scared of rabbits) and a worker at the rival cafe, Chiya, who runs the rival cafe and seems to be the source of reason in the group and finally (left the best till last) Rize…
Rize is probably the most interesting character in the group and probably the sole reason I wanted this series through to the end. As far as characters go Rize has a few surprises, pulling Gun’s out on Cocoa in the first episode made me laugh a lot. She is slightly military obsessed, obsessed with guns, combat and all things violence. This is later explained to be down to her father who I presume is in the military and brought her up in that that kind of environment and consequently she does not have a great understanding of how ‘normal’ girls behave. Throughout the series there are comedy moments where Rize completely misunderstands normal things as something military-related but these are mixed with the moments she reveals her tender side which are very cute.
Music throughout the series was nice and pleasant and suited the series, nothing I’d add to my MP3 player but suited the series.
The animation/artwork of the series was about average, not bad but as it was not a high -budget project about the level you would expect to see.
Its a nice pleasant show, but with its lack of story and progression its a hard sell to say this is actually worth watching… Rize is a rather cute and amusing character which adds some good fun into the series but still isn’t enough to say this is a series worth spending the time to watch…
Overall I’s say its one that if your bored, you want something thats just very light hearted and happy/smiley then maybe its worth picking up, but for most of us its probably not worth the time.

Oddly enough, I found myself enjoying this show more than I thought I would. Far from perfect, it still has it where it counts with its witty humor and “out there” characters.
According to fans of the manga, the anime really didn’t cover a lot of ground. More or less the majority of it was introducing the characters and developing them as they interact with each other in a case by case sort of way. The last, oh let’s say, third of the series is the first story arc.
...
This character, Medaka, is too perfect. She has a way with getting anyone to see things her way and uses this to “convert” delinquents into upstanding people. Her methods are a little less than ideal as there tends to be violence involved at some point. In the end, however, she succeeds in accomplishing her goal, one way or another. While it is for the good of things, she’s a love/hate kind of character.
The comedic value of the show overall isn’t the best. But it has its moments. The general consensus says that it may be a better option to read the manga if you’re really looking to get into this series. I cannot confirm or deny that, as I have not read the manga.
Overall I give this show 6/10 , its a Decent for what it was, but nothing award winning. Sort of became an after thought when I was finished watching it. For a slice of life style anime, with decent humor and all around fun characters, it’s good to give a shot if you’re bored and need some comedy.

Oddly enough, while it appears to be a typical show about mecha, it has much less to do with the mecha themselves than you would think. It actually focuses more on the characters and their interactions with each other. This is not necessarily a bad thing even if you were looking into this series for the mecha, because they do have some visually stunning battle scenes. Lagrange did a steller job keeping a good balance between the sci-fi mecha, high school life, and character drama.
The pacing is back and forth. A
...
few episodes seemed a bit sluggish at times, while others felt flew by like nothing. At least those instances were few and far between. The main character, Madoka, is probably the most likeable character in the entire show. Her companions, Lan and Muginami, are also incredible and the three girls compliment each other quite well
With a strong opening and more than fitting ending, this overall is a fun and enjoyable show for any audience. The story is not fully explained and there are some issues with it,
I did feel that the Yuri undertones throughout this series came off a bit strong and hold a little too much presence. But if you aren’t the kind of person to be bothered by this, there’s nothing to worry about. Even still, it’s not blatantly thrown in your face, so even if it’s not your cup of tea, it’s not enough to outright ruin the show for you.
If you’re looking for a mecha series, you won’t be entirely disappointed, but keep in mind it’s no Gundam. However, on the flip side, even if you don’t like mecha anime, it’s still a fun series to watch for the characters.

At first I really didn’t know what to make of this series after watching the first episode. There seems to be some magical power within a giant rock that sits on the temple grounds that one of the characters lives at. Growing up they would gather together around the rock and make a wish, that they would become successful pop idols in the future. But it grants the wish only if all four sincerely wish for the same thing.
There’s really nothing overly spectacular about this series, but it is a fun drama
...
with some good laughs. They have some of the most bizzare wishes granted and they last for varying amounts of time, but you see that their bonds in the long run grow stronger, and when faced with a situation that nobody asked for, things get real serious real quick.
To really enjoy this series, you have to be able to accept the bits and pieces of unrealistic events and watch it for the characters and the drama that ensues. As long as you can do this, it is all worthwhile. All four characters are well rounded and entertaining, each with unique mannerisms and attitudes that are just fun to watch.
The ending felt a little rushed. It gave enough closure and nothing remained unresolved, but I’m one for epilogues and I felt they could have done one here.
Overall i give this show 6/10, Again nothing super spectacular but worth the time investment if it clicks.

Jormungand has, to say the least, action. Lots and lots of action. If you like action movies like Rambo, Die Hard, just about any Jean Claude van Damme movie, then look no further. On a personal note, I do enjoy such films and was taken in quite quickly by this show.
For an arms dealer, you would think their attitude would be serious, evasive, short and to the point. Koko Hekmatyar seems anything but serious. Rather, she’s very calm and cheerful and has a demeanor that would put one more at
...
ease than anything. Without any prior knowledge of Hekmatyar, you would think she’s a spacey goofball of a businesswoman. Her mannerisms can sometimes be that of a typical 10 year old throwing a tantrum.
With only 12 episodes to work with, they jump into plot rather quickly, not really bothering to go into the supporting characters much. Over the course of the series, they do eventually touch up on some of them and you learn about their past a little. But it is a bit sad when a character that only has three episodes of screen time gets more of a background than one of Koko’s own men whom we see in every episode. I would have liked to have seen more background on the other supporting characters that got few lines and hardly any screen time, and saved the main story and action for the second season.
The most pressing question many watchers of this show have in mind is, “if this kid Jonah hates weapons so much, why is he so good with them, and why does he continue to use them? If he hates arms dealers so much, why is he traveling with Koko?” This is explained during the early- middle part of the series. We learn about the trials Jonah has faced and why he has become who he is. As the story progresses, we do see a bit of a change in his personality, and he does eventually warm up to Koko’s group while still keeping his main goal in mind.
The animation is nothing super spectacular, but it’s still better than average. There were a few scenes during gunfights when I noticed the quality drop a little bit behind the muzzle flash of gunfire. Other than that, there wasn’t anything notably wrong with the animation.
In a nutshell, Jormungand definitely has a target audience in mind. But for those among that audience, you won’t be disappointed.

The whole concept of exchanging saliva is gross. I’ll say it. But to be fair, the story and the interactions of the other characters are good enough that most can bypass this. After a while, I noticed that I cringed less and less every time I had to see the two love birds put their drool in each other’s mouths.
At times the show dragged. There were a couple episodes that really seemed to do a whole lot of nothing. Overall, I’m glad that it only ran for 13 episodes. The
...
pacing over the course of the whole series was alright though.
As for the comedic value, it really depends on your personal tastes. As with most comedies, especially in the anime industry, it’s very subjective. It either syncs up with you or it doesn’t. With this particular series, you’ll need to give it at least three episodes to determine whether or not it falls within your personal taste.
But even if the humor isn’t your thing, the story is still relatively interesting. I found myself really wanting to find out how the relationship between Mikoto and Akira would turn out. There’s quite a few surprises along the way, and although they didn’t end it the way the manga progressed, it was still acceptable whether you read the manga or not. If you’ve read the manga, give it a shot. They aren’t far off from it. If not, it’s still a decent pick if you want a romantic comedy with a weird concept. Just don’t think about it too much. If you do, it’ll just end up bothering you the whole way through and at that point it’s not worth your time.
Overall i give this show 6/10, it took me a while to get into it, and at times I found myself getting an episode or two behind, prioritizing several other shows. It’s not horrible for what it is. It just didn’t have the “wow” effect on me.
If you don’t like the animation style, and cannot get past the saliva concept, go ahead and pass on this one. Also, as always, if romantic comedy isn’t what you are looking for, this is not the right pick.

~ this review contain spoiler ~
The first few episodes of this show really lead into what should have been a really decent story. The premise was there, the characters were there, but the follow through was very much less than ideal.
It’s a bit of trouble to explain without throwing in a couple of spoilers, so if you plan on watching this series and don’t want spoilers, stop here. You’ll see for yourself what I’m talking about when I say the execution was terrible. For those that don’t care much about
...
spoilers, this will probably divert you away from this show.
The show starts off quite well, setting the plot up and introducing the characters. Given the plot summary, it’s pretty obvious that this girl dies. I won’t say how, but she does. Furuya never expected his little potion to actually work, but it does. Not only on his cat, but Rea as well. She had taken it in hopes that it would have the reverse effect on the living. Her father was too possessive and allowed her virtually no freedom whatsoever, so she had a death wish.
What happens from this episode forward is utterly ridiculous. You would think a zombie otaku like Furuya would be over joyed that he got his wish to date a zombie girl. The problem is, she is still very much herself and appears normal other than being a bit pale and having ungodly strength. Another issue is that rather than seeing romance come about, it actually focuses more on how Furuya can keep her body from decaying.
On top of this, they throw in an entire episode and a half revolving around Furuya’s childhood friend who is obviously jealous of Rea. The whole plot point here was unnecessary and could have been left out. I was rather bored throughout the entire sub plot.
All in all, I can only thank the heavens this show was only 12 episodes. Any more than that would have been unbearable. Although the show has its merits, it unfortunately doesn’t have it where it counts

This show actually caught me by surprise. I went into it knowing absolutely nothing about it, but needless to say, I was hooked after just two episodes. Who is this girl? Why is she so special? Why is this new transfer student the only one that seems to know she’s even there? A mystery indeed. The show does an amazing job leaving the audience to wonder what’s going to happen next. Each episode’s cliffhanger is gripping. They take things to a whole new level during the second half of the series.
...
The character design and animation style both are top notch. Clean, sharp, and crisp. Nicely done here by P.A. Works. The opening fits the theme of this series perfectly. I couldn’t ask for anything better. The ending theme is up for debate. I personally didn’t care much for it, but let’s not make that the focus here.
I can’t say a whole lot without spoiling the series, but I will say this: as predictable as you will probably think it is, the ending will throw you for a loop. They even recap for you, showing all of the proof from the previous episodes and it will blow your mind because it’s at that moment that you realize the pieces were all there the whole time. How it all came together at the end was fantastic.
The actual ending itself, however, left a sour taste in my mouth for some reason. Not the solution to the mystery, not how it pieced together, but the aftermath. In other words, the epilogue is what sort of made me rethink a few things. If you do pick up this series and watch it to the end, you may or may not understand what I mean, because it’s hard to explain.
There are some points in the series where the pacing really seems to slow down. The reason I mention this as if to say it’s a problem is mainly because the audience can lose interest when nothing is happening. I found myself dozing off a few times during a couple episodes, and next thing I know, stuff is going down and I totally missed everything leading up to it. Obviously, I had to rewatch those episodes but even fully awake, some parts felt like the longest 23 minutes ever.
If you likes psychological, gore, horror/mystery genre. If you like more serious shows that take themselves seriously, look no further this is what you looking for.

~ STORY ~
The storyline of Ergo Proxy is pretty complex, and filled with mysteries that hook you and make you feel like watching it to the end so that all questions can be answered. Somehow I found that there is a parallel between the setting of Ergo Proxy and the Matrix. Both evolves around a world that seems to be a utopia but actually is controlled by something else. Both questions their worlds and talks about the existence of an "outside" world. Just like the Matrix, Ergo Proxy explores a lot on existence, and the meaning of
...
it, and that set people thinking as well.
~ ART ~
Even though the series do not have many bright colours (most of the time it will be grey), the graphics are beautifully drawn and presented. Of course, considering that this series is filled with mysteries, I would think that the choice of colours are rather good, as it suits the overall atmosphere of the series. The way the characters are designed are compelling as well. The autoraves are depicted in a manner that I have never seen before (I mean, they look different from other AI in other series or movies, correct me if I am wrong). One thing I like most is the depiction of Romudo. This city looks totally awesome, and is really a utopia kind of state. Of course, the contrast between Romudo and the "Outside" world is huge as well, and the manner both places are portrayed matches the storyline.
~ SOUND ~
The opening and ending songs of Ergo Proxy suits the series a lot, especially the lyrics. The lyrics are mostly depicting a troubled mind, with words like "come and saaaave meeee". This exactly describes Vincent Law, and his state of mind. Voices of characters are good as well, as the tone used are mostly what we use in daily life (a bit darker, though) and it makes the series even more realistic. Ergo Proxy does not have much background music, mostly it's just wind howling away or machine making noise when the characters are talking. However, the natural background noise makes the series seem more eerie and mystified, and is certainly better than unnecessary background music. Overall, the sound suits the genre of Ergo Proxy.
~ CHARACTER ~
The characters of Ergo Proxy are very realistic. Each of the characters are very unique individuals, they have their own strengths and weaknesses, and what each of them are thinking is not easy to understand, and even if you understand, you won't be able to understand fully just like the real world. This makes the story even more engrossing as you will then try hard to figure out the characters.
Overall Ergo Proxy is a perfect case of a series living up to its potential. The stories and concepts in each episode are clearly and dramatically ( in a good way ) executed, leaving no impression of schizophrenia or lack of focus. It is like watching an intricate play, in the beginning, you are somewhat lost but you feel as if your'e supposed to be lost at first, and find your way in the journey leading up to the tale's conclusion.

~ STORY ~
The story begin with two sister , Mei and Satsuki on a truck with their father , they are moving to their new home which is where the whole story revolves around. Their new home, their new place in the world. At first I didn't really understand the whole purpose of Totoro. I know the title of the film is based around him, but i didn't see much purpose to him being there. it was just basically a little magical element added in. And it suppose to show that someone is there for those girls. There
...
wasn't much to the plotline, but I enjoyed it still immensely. There were times near the end where you sat up straighter because of the heart felt scene thats happening, and you feel all fuzzy when Totoro appears to help. I felt that the characters of Satsuki and Mei were definitely played more here. The role of the older sister watching over the younger one, the whole misinterpreting what each other really means and getting into a squabble.
~ ART ~
The same style that has been used over and over again which never in my mind seems to lose its quality. The best character design would be the more magical creatures especially the cat bus, its so cute! The furry lining seemed so warm and cuddly that you yourself just want to go on and sit there enjoying the ride. The next ones in my favourite character design would have to be Totoro, Chibi-Totoro, and Chu-Totoro. Again, so damn cute! Weird creatures, but loveable look created for them the same.
~ SOUND ~
The sounds of this film didn't really stick with me as do some other Studio Ghibli animations, the music score didn't really hit me, so the music therefore must have been good enough to accompany what I was watching that I didn't really notice it. i do remember some parts of the film where i did listen. The background music really did fit into the whole action at that time. the rain began to fall and you could feel as if something magical was going to happen by the music. You just knew.
~ ENJOYMENT ~
Definitely enjoyable! Loved every minute of it when i was younger and when i watched it again when i was older. I think this is the kind of film which can be enjoyed by just about everyone.
~ OVERALL ~
Its an easy enough film to watch. If you want depth, you won't really find it here. Its sentimental at the most. Its a magical experience that you will get.
