"If I had kids I would watch Boruto with then"

The first thing that you notice when you start watching Boruto is that it pays a lot of attention to the daily life, making it almost a slice-of-life series which, in my opinion, is not a bad thing and helps a lot with world building. It is also surprisingly good at showing a cobweb of character relationships instead of focusing on a few main guys.

There is a huge focus on parent/child relationships which seems to be the main theme of the show so far. Some of those relationships can be pretty warped and what Karin ... is doing is outright funny when you think about it. It looks like the whole show is designed to teach the procreation-capable anime fans how to handle their children, how to develop bonds with them and what not to do. Or to teach children how to handle old folks, perhaps? You decide.

Story 7/10
The main story seems to be spinning around things never explained in detail in the previous series, which is a reasonable approach. The only thing that actually bothers me is the possibility of it following the fate of Dragonball by morphing from oriental folklore themed series into something stuffed with aliens and galactic scale action, I truly hope that it won't happen but maybe I'm just naive.
We shall see.

Art 5/10
The art style looks good on the whole but when you look closer you notice that it's a bit sloppy.We can live with that.

Sound 8/10
Sound is rather good overall with several opening and ending songs worth listening through.

Characters 9/10
This is the strongest part of the series so far. It succeeds at showing a real community, not just a bunch of people with flashy stories which is quite impressive for a shounen show. There were a few let downs in character development such as the whole Chou-Chou arc but overall the show is rather good at this. It even managed to surprise me a bit by integrating a particular male villain-of-the-day type character into the regular cast which was a nice touch.

I like it. It's fresh,not too pretentious and helps to relax after work.
