I don't know how to feel after this anime ended. I mourn over the possibility that there might never be a romance anime this good, ever again.
Heads up: this is my first review, and I am heavily biased towards this show.
Well, let's begin.
Story: 10/10
I had about 10 heart attacks, might've had more while unconscious. The ending makes it all worthwhile, though. It's like eating the food of the gods after walking through the Sahara for years...
Okay, seriously. The story was great; very realistic. No bs anime stereotypes. In fact, you are hit with many surprises each time because of its tendency to throw you off
...
with its utmost, realistic, down-to-earth simplicity. No boobs flopping around everywhere.
Warning: it does give you high stress/anxiety levels in the middle. Beginning and end are great though.
Art: 9/10
The art was simple. But one sentence in particular comes to mind when I think about Tsuki ga Kirei's art: "A picture can express a thousand words."
The characters don't spew unnecessary shit. Their facial expressions tell it all.
Maybe a bit too plain though, so it gets a 9; nonetheless, one of the best art I've ever seen.
Sound: 10/10
Wow. Just wow.
Let me say one thing: every time I listen to the opening and ending of this anime, I almost cry.
Very, very, soothing, melancholy, whatever fits the mood...
... Ok I'm trying not to have a panic attack from reminiscing about this
Character: 9/10
Mizuno, always so sweet, how can you be sweeter than candy~ ah!
Kotarou, wow! Showcases the true emotions of a teenager in love~ ah!
Hira fuck off
Chinatsu, I'm sorry this is not a hentai and you cannot have a threesome with the MCs. I am truly sorry. I want to see her happy.
Best side ship: Roman x Ryouko-sensei, please have them marry in (an impossible) 2nd season
Enjoyment: 10/10
I broke in the last episode. I cried. It was great. My heart and ass felt liberated. What else can I say?
Overall:
10/10. This replaced my #1 romance anime, Kaichou wa Maid-sama. Takumi Usui is still my standard for all boys tho (I'm a straight male) hmph.
For real though, I cannot express in fitting words my gratitude towards everyone who worked on Tsuki ga Kirei. Thank you for one of the most enjoyable experiences in my entire life. Thank you once more. Have I said thank you yet?
I want more though. I can wait as long as it takes.
Thank you for reading.
