the only reason people don't like this episode
that they were expecting alot from a one special episode
the special episodes don't have to be meaningful to the story or anything at all
i would argue that most of special episodes of any anime is just a fan service for more content
and this special episode did it job very well , it was heart warming and breaking at same time
and for me at least it add to maho and kagari characters arc
...
