Most people probably won't understand why the plot went into a farm arc but i think this was the only posible way for thorphin to develop.
Remeber how in 2019 everyone liked askeladd or knutt or even thors but never thorphin. The reason for that is pretty simple , cause thorphin was a one trait character with the only reason to exist is to take revenge for his father. He was a screaming brat that didnt know anything else then rage and hate . The point of season 2 is to make thorphin understand what Thors words meant as he said ''you have no enemies, ... no one does'' and how to live with the philosophy of his father.. And thats called character development.
