Gabriel DropOut is something you can watch half-heartedly, not fully paying attention. It's a slice of life with a supernatural twist, but it doesn't feel as good as some of the best slice of life out there. The characters don't seem interesting enough, and I think characters are the biggest reason you'd enjoy an anime like this. Only two of the four main characters are interesting to watch, and that is definitely not enough.
The whole concept could be fun, but the end result feels quite boring. It's something that's good to watch while you're doing something else, but there's not really a reason to completely

I enjoyed the manga, and I watched the anime before, but only now did I watch the whole series.
There is a story, but only kind of, since it's a slice of life, and it feels more like a series of events than a coherent story, but it suits the show. It's quite serene and even comforting, and the small stories that are in the episodes are entertaining and relatable. Sometimes I feel like yeah, life was like that when I was 17 or something. It probably wasn't, but I can pretend. Right? The art style is okay. I don't really enjoy it, and there are times ... Aug 1, 2021
I haven't really watched sport anime before, and I mostly started watching SK∞, because I've wanted to start skating for the longest time. It really made me even more excited about it, because the story is mostly about how exciting and fun the sport is, even when you're not good at it. So the theme of the anime really works and is really inspiring, which is amazing. I can't name many shows that have had this kind of positive effect on my attitude and motivation towards something. That's the biggest thing about this show. It excites you. And like one of the main characters had

I was so excited to see this, but I am severely disappointed.
The biggest disappointed to me and pretty much everyone else I've talked to is the animation... Or lack there of. The show is barely animated. It's closer to a slideshow. I guess they are going for a stylistic choice, like it's supposed to look very much like a comic, but it does not work. This style could work if the artwork was a bit more detailed and, well, good, but it's not. It's not ugly, but it's very simple, and since they didn't animate it, it looks like it was done in a ... I remember seeing like few scenes in high school when my classmate was watching this. I started watching it myself too, but then left it. Now about six years later, I started it again and finished it.
This story has a lot of potential, but it's not really done as well as it could've been done. I saw someone saying this lacks the depth and maturity to be a seinen instead of shounen and I agree with that completely. The characters are interesting, apart from Yukiteru, but more on that later, but the story never really goes as in-depth as you'd hope. A lot of ... Mar 28, 2021

I started watching this thinking it would be a kind of silly movie, and I thought that for a long time while watching. But damn this was an emotional movie! It's definitely not perfect and there are a lot of things I'd like to change about it, but it was a generally good experience.
At first I was criticizing the initial idea and the main character's actions, because they made no sense to me. But eventually it made sense to me, that they didn't have to make sense. Sometimes you do foolish things, especially when you're younger. Also the art style was so beautiful! I ... Mar 28, 2021

I don't remember why exactly my friend recommended this show to me... Possibly because I had been reading a lot about the yandere trope? Maybe?
So when I started watching Happy Sugar Life, I wasn't fooled by the cute art style, I knew there was something darker going on, but I didn't know exactly. And I feel like every episode introduced something even more darker than the previous, which definitely kept me on my toes. And while I got shocked every episode, I still enjoyed watching this. I had to know what would happen, I had to know what is wrong with these characters, I ... |
