Utterly pointless. The only moment of worth in the manga is a few pages where Jolyne, Ermes and Foo interact with one another.

What little plot there is serves no purpose. The new character created specifically for the spin-off (or perhaps borrowed from another property?) amounts to a joke(?) about the online art scene and that's about it.

Bringing Jolyne back for the purpose of sex appeal is probably unavoidable given that the Part 6 anime is currently airing and waifu culture is at an all time high in the west and in Japan, but they could have at least tried to do something interesting with it.

Generally speaking, my tastes for anime are pretty mature. I watch a lot of shonen but the anime that I tend to really like are the ones that delve into the human psyche and explore the way that we interact with one another.

As such, Scum's Wish seemed like something I would really like. I read the reviews and saw everyone talking about how frustrating the experience was for them, but I figured I'd give it a try anyway. It couldn't be that bad, right?

Wrong. This anime rewards people for being terrible. The worse a person's actions are, the happier they end up at the end ...
