Hug tto! Precure
add

Both Yu-Gi-Oh! And PreCure are large, long running anime franchises whose number 1 goal is to sell toys. Both reboot themselves after each series ends with a new one. The thing about these two though, they pay some type of HEAVY homage to the series that came before them. Not sure what they’re called in PreCure as I am fairly new to the franchise, but in Arc-V they’re known as Legacy Characters. Basically, characters from previous series make appearances and interact alongside the regular cast. They do it differently though. Hug tto has the previous MAIN characters show up but they don’t stay very long, whereas Arc-V uses side/supporting characters(some are part of the main cast like Edo, Crow and Kaito) and has them stick around and be somewhat relevant to the overall “story”.

Banana Fish

Banana Fish and Nana are two of my favorite anime, so for starters, they both appeal to my set of values, whatever those may be exactly. Nana and Banana Fish both showcase the relationship (which starts of rocky for both) between two characters of the same gender, one having come from a happy, loving home and the other experiencing pain and abandonment throughout the entirety of their youths. Both of these pairs meet eachother due to the more innocent one's expected life plans not working out exactly as they wanted. As the shows progress, characters fade in and out of the shows and both pairs do the same within the other's life. Around the endings of both(like ending arcs) both pairs find it hard to see their respective partners which only strengthens their bonds. Neither has a particularly happy ending, though that's all up to perspective. True happiness isn't exactly attainable and neither Nana or Banana Fish shy away from telling the viewer that. However, that doesn't mean they leave you feeling hopeless. At their ends', while reflecting on all that had been lost and all that's missed, you're left feeling grateful for the things you'll wind up taking with you and never letting go. The people in out lives won't stay constant, no matter how close, important, or how much you both may want to, but instead of getting caught up in it all and becoming stuck in one place, both shows portray this message of getting back onto your feet and moving forward through all the pain even if everything you've ever wanted is still there in the opposite direction. Things wouldn't be the same that way anyway. Growth is important to both shows. I really enjoy that the development in these series aren't just up. Characters develop in all over the place directions, sometimes even spiraling down into worse places they started. Development doesn't just mean improvement. Both Banana Fish and Nana had something they wanted to share with me and after accepting those things, I can definitely say that I won't forget any of it.

Yu☆Gi☆Oh! Zexal Second
add

- Aside from both of them being long running shonen titles, the episode count for ZEXAL is only 2 less than Hunter. - Both ran from 2011 to 2014. - The protagonist of both is an optimistic young boy who's goal is to not only find his father, but to be just as skilled a Hunter/Duelist(respectively) he's said to be. Not to mention both of their fathers are adventurers who explore and study ruins and plan for bigger things, not of this world. -The fathers of both characters may be absent, but they leave clues for their sons, one isn't very overt about it and comes off as nonchalant, the other sends a whole person. - Something very similar with both is that at some point the plot revolves around collecting 100(ok one is 99 but they sorta implement more so it's whatever) numbered cards, the collection of these cards is the focus at the start, but eventually takes a step back for drama between the characters to shine. - The protagonists are extremely friendly and cheerful, and also kind of dumb, and they are accompanied by a character who starts out lonely and cynical, but eventually becomes cheerful. Both of these pairs of characters consider eachother their most or one of their most precious thing. They also know they'll have to part with them someday. - Both series feature a character who is a hunter of sorts with a companion that's more of a tool than a friend, that have a consciousness and can speak and assist said character in their hunts. These two characters are both experimenting/researching information about things not of this word that could threaten it. Both of these characters pass and are brought back in some way at the end of the story. - Grey haired cat girl(kind of?) who often makes cat puns. - Both feature a creepy psychopath who isn't exactly a hero nor a villain. There are more related things but personally I think ZEXAL is a much richer show, it's entire cast has an absolutely perfect dynamic and none of the characters really feel unnecessary, and I know the ranking of it is worrying, but it's something worth watching for the plot, the characters, and all the emotions that come along with that. Obviously since it's Yu-Gi-Oh!, it requires the viewer to utilize their suspension of disbelief, but the narrative is worth enduring it.

Misha looks like a younger version of Sena, I couldn’t stop thinking that. I haven’t seen Haganai in years but Rika and the trap could fuse to physically become the pedophila predator I forgot her name. Hope this persuasive and well thought out recommendation interests you!!1!

-Both have a certain sweetness and simplicity to them, while also touching on the topic of rejection by those around you who don't even care to get to know you before excluding you. -Both involve a lonely and somewhat isolated Main Character meeting her "prince" and beginning to make friends with those around them. -Have a similar 4 main characters, while also having them feel unique. -I read both of these grinning the whole time and wanting to see more. -The main characters have a similar hair style and personality, both being sweet and just wanting acceptance and inclusion by the ones that occupy the world around them.

-Both contain a somewhat cold and more down to earth character matched with a ditzy and eccentric character, both pairs also having one of the characters with an aspect of them that would be terrifying/dark if not for the comedy aspect of the show. -Are easy to watch and don't quite feel like a chore or tiring to watch. -The humor of both shows are random but don't feel farfetched or unrealistic, even if the unrealistic or other worldly aspects of certain characters are involved, the comedy is still real and believable -Both shows are mainly comedy based, but have an underlying warmth to them, especially involving the two main characters' relationship(s) despite them not always getting along.
