I really wanted to enjoy more this anime, I really wished I could like it more and tried my best to but I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted.
First, the base story is too weird for me, I know that we can have weird dreams especially when as young as Mayumi (14 yo) but, looking for a star? Really? Like, I mean, there is billion of billion of stars in the sky girl, how can you be looking for one especially? I may lack of poetry but, sorry, the base story is really stupid to me.
The other thing I disliked is the lack
...
of romance, I saw "reverse harem" in the tags, where is the reversed harem? I get it, Mayumi is a girl and the others main characters are boys, and so? It doesn't make it into a reverse harem. I wish there was more romantic moments, I had strongs hopes when in the first episode, we see Manabu dance and "hug" Mayumi but this is like the only moment close to a romantic moment and it's annoying to me. I liked the chemestry between those two and I really wished for more.
A thing that bothered me too was that the explanations are way too hard to understand, the characters use difficult words when they could just use simple ones. It really made me get lost when they were on a "case". Plus, the cases they investigate were really weird or not really interesting to me, especially the paintings without people on it, I really couldn't understand what happened there.
Also, the characters act way too old for their ages, how can Manabu be only 11? And the president guy is only 14? Are you kidding me? They also have weird reactions, I don't get what Mayumi want to do sometimes and to be honest, I don't get how they are thinking in general in this anime, they often makes strange decisions and do weird things. The relationships between the characters also feel really rushed to me especially between the cooking guy and Mayumi but also between Sosaku and Mayumi, I mean, she stripped and get massaged by him in one episode and I was like "ok, since when are you guys this close? And how the fuck are you ok by stripping in front of a guy when you are a 14 years old girl?".
To be honest, I don't really know where the story want to go, I get that we are talking about kids being kids and playing detectives and that the final message is "we had fun when we were kid" and "children should take the time to enjoy the innocence of kid games" but, this isn't really kid game in this anime since they get stalked, kidnapped, goes to a casino, get hit by a car and even get threatened, this anime is about kids playing detectives but by playing, they get involved in dark things, I don't get it.
I felt like, the story itself didn't really know where it wanted to go.
I'm kinda sad because, like I said before, I really wanted to enjoy this anime more, I liked the design of the characters (and liked some characters too) but I feel like this anime made me get lost in almost every episodes...

To be honest, I have been playing EnStars since 2016 but since the !! update, I kinda dropped it because I dislike the new universe and preferred Yumenosaki so when I saw that the movie was focusing on Square, I was a little disapointed.
But, I was really happy to see EnStars come back as an anime and the movie overall was good. The characters apparing in this movie aren't even my favorites but, if it's your case too, know that others characters do appear as cameos. Rei and the others are going to a movie awards show, and during that show, clips from different movies
...
that are talked about in the game's events are animated as Midnight Butlers for exemple. I was happy to get to see others boys animated too even if it is short clips.
Instead of a movie focusing on post Yumenosaki, I personally would have preferred a direct sequel to the original anime featuring different events to highlight all the characters, there are tons of events that could be animated and that would allow an equal focus on each characters and groups but I imagine that the choice to focus on Square is also to highlight characters like Aira, Kohaku or Mayoi and also to promote the current EnStars!!, I can see why they did that.
I must admit that the choice of New York for a trip seems a bit cliché because it's not the first time that we see characters go to America during a movie but in the end, the choice of the country doesn't have much impact knowing that all the American characters in this film speak perfect Japanese, it's a shame not to have tried to make scenes in English for more realism.
Finally, I find that the villain of the movie was a bit too predictable, as soon as I saw him on screen, I knew it was him and also I admit I had trouble understanding his motivations.
I don't have much more to say, the movie is cool and I enjoyed it, I hope that in the future we will get to see more animated EnStars again and this time with different characters.

As a person with a strong phobia of insects (especially butterflies, yeah, it's weird but it's true), when I saw the concept of this anime I was really curious because it would be a true nightmare for a person like me to be in such situation and since I like horror movies / animes, I was really hyped by the story.
What a deception.
It remind me of HOTD, too much fanservice when it isn't needed AT ALL and it make it even more disturbing to see such scenes around insects.
The characters are almost all horrible, there is only like 2-3 of them that you will actually
...
care for because they are nice (special mention to Captain and Kai) but the others are just the worst human being possible and i'm just like "why in this plane crash there is only mean people who survived ?!".
I think the story would have been more enjoyable if the characters we're actually nice because you would more care for them and seeing them dying would have more impact. With these characters, you only want to see them die like what is the point?
I actually tried to read the manga a little to see if it was better and... mean characters keeps appearing so I just assume that the author like to write characters with the worst personnality possible?
There would have been lot of way to make this anime actually good with such a good base scenario so it's just a shame to see it being wasted with bad writing and bad exploitation.
P.S : The 3D animation of the insects was kinda bad too.

I don' t like to write a review when the anime is still not finished airing but let's do an exeption for Yashahime.
(I apologize for the bad english btw)
To be honest, Inuyasha is one of my first anime and the one who made me want to learn japanese so it's one of the most important anime in my life and when I heard about Yashahime I was really excited.
The first thing that bothered me was the story of Towa being in our era when she isn't even related to the Higurashi. I feel like Towa should not had been adopted by Sota and should just
...
have been in feudal era. If they really wanted separate her from Setsuna, it was possible to do it without bringing Towa in the futur and it would have made more sense to me.
Next big problem, where are the main protagonist of Inuyasha? I know that it's a serie based on the three daughters of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru but they definitly didn't need to erase the parents, why couldn't Inuyasha and Kagome just be happy and living with their daughter? Nobody wished such a dark story for our first heroes. Kanketsu hen end did not portends such a dark sequel for them and it's unfair.
They could just keep the parents and center the story on the new adventures of the daughters.
But, with this story line, the other problem is that it's reaaaaaallly SLOW.
We, Inuyasha's fans, want to know what happened to Kagome, Inuyasha, Rin and Sesshomaru and you give us useless filler instead of progress in the plot? Meh.
Inuyasha itself did had a lot of fillers but the difference was that they we're mostly great and well implanted when Yashahime's filler just looks out of place.
The most terrible part to me was the episode 19, it's the worst episode so far and it really disapointed me, what is the point to put such a bad and useless filler when the plot finally start moving? Without spoiling it, something really important happened in the episode 18 and then you have the 19 where no one speak about what happened in the previous one and we just have a stupid contest with an annoying princess without anything to do with the plot, it's crazy.
The show is poorly writted, the story make no sense and they could have do much better and simple.
A great anime as Inuyasha deserved way better than this.
I will continue until the end but I feel like our questions won't be answered...Like, it remain only few episodes and they wasted 1 of them with the terrible 19th...Maybe there will be a season 2 but if it's to see lot of useless filler again, I don't know if I will want to see it.
Even with the eventual return of Rin, Inuyasha and Kagome, I will always feel like everything was wasted, they didn't even had the chance to see them grow up...

First, I apologize for my bad english (frenchie desu)
As others people said in their reviews, I would not recommend it if you are not familiar with the game, I feel like if I wasn't familiar with the universe, I would be really lost when watching the anime.
It's kinda sad but I feel like the anime is rushed and I think it's a shame because EnStars has such a good story and deserve better.
From some rumors, I heard there will be 24 (or more) episodes and I honestly think it would have deserved more if they wanted to develop the plot better.
Each characters are really well
...
writed and it's not easy to get to know each of them because there are a lot and the anime rush so much that we don't have time to focus on them.
Plus, I was really happy that Anzu got to be in the anime but I feel like she's not really important in the anime and that really bothers me because in the game she IS really important and way more devolopped.
I don't hate the anime at all and still really happy that we finally get it but i'm a little disapointed, our boys deserved better and i'm sad I can't really show it to my friends to introduce them into EnStars because they will surely be lost in no time.
