Both anime follows an unexperienced team that travels around a world that resemble a high fantasy tale, but they are presented as RPG parodies. As expected, they set out on a journey were they meet villagers, listen to magic folk tales and bring weapons and magic to defeat enemies and monsters.

Both historical manga involving children with talent for fighting in ancient Europe. They are surrounded by misery and extreme violence in a world were slavery, political conspiracy, greed and wars are prevalent. Unfortunatly the roman boxer Cestvs is really underexposed so if you enjoyed Vinland saga, think about giving Cestvs a chance one of these days..

The adventure starts when main protagonists decide they need to see what outside (or "inside" in the case of Made in Abyss). Both have unique kid characters designs and are initially set in orphanages. Escaping turns difficult because it´s forbidden by adults. The art in the manga depict fantastic settings and atmosphere and this is properly adapted in both anime. The story will lead kids into an adventure that, unfortunatly, hold the possibility of damaging their physical integrity.

He eventually developes an interesting talent for war and uses it for its vengeful purposes. It contains political conspiracy, childhood trauma, horrors of war and even some interesting military deployment . Both manga share a similar premise: Japan has turned into a huge dictatorial world power and has develope the ultimate tool of mass control product of inhumanity getting out of hand: "Battle Royale": a sort of survival experiment with aparent benefits in enduring human will, yet it looks more like a governmet delusion that actually creates pure paranoia and trauma among people. "Kokumin quiz": a flashy form of show wich rules trascends capitalism since it evokes people´s darkest desires to become truth Both are great and recommended manga if you are interested in dystopia, yet Battle Royale focuses more in flashbacks and violence to explore psyche deterioration of characters diverse personalities, while Kokumin Quiz seems to criticize human greed and its regrettable consequences

Both are set in Europe, during the middle ages (yet, Divci valka starts in Central Europe a few decades prior the early modern period, while Vinland Saga starts in northern Europe). Main characters are kids (Thorfinn and Sarka) who enroll in the army after experiencing some traumatic event involving their families and their physical integrity (in case of Sarka). Both kids will follow some experienced mentor with brains for war: Zizka and Askeladd. Their methods are, of course, controversial. Both kids develope some talent for war: Thorfinn for close range dual wield and knife throwing, and Sarka, with early european firearm.

Enough has been said about Code Geass and Shimoneta being similar. In my personal exprience, I watched Shimoneta first, so when I watched Code Geass there was a point in the series where I realized: "Wow, Shimoneta definitly feels like a parody of Code Geass". This is because they are both about a pair of masked guys that organize a regime resistance in which some of their friends are involved. Just to summarize it. Something I´ll add is that ecchi in Code Geass seems unnecesary and the only excuse that comes to my mind is that it releases some tension. Shimoneta, instead adds ecchi because it needs it. it´s part of its plot´s nature.

Konosuba is somehow a 2010s version of "Those who hunt the elves". Both include characters that thanks to magic appear in a "middle age-esque" world. And in both shows main characters will side with local habitants to deal with some missions that get really funny in the process. Main characters also get in trouble at least once with authority because of side effects of their missions.

One way to view similarities between both mangas: they are both about kids dealing with non-human creatures that want to eat them. Another (more interesting) way to view similarities: both stories are about cattle trying to scape from their respective factories.
