Similar concept of superpowers, but hunterxhunter is more about friendship, and hitori is more about action. Both anime have wide range of unique characters. Age of characters different. In Hitori they are young adults, in hxh - children.

world with isolated human groups, unfriendly apocaliptic-like surroundings, premonition of some advanced knowledge that is unacessible to people for one reason or another, and kind of romantic, dreamy atmosphere concerning chosen aspects of story.

We`ve got hitmen+gangsters in Durarara and hitmen in Hakata. If you like big cities, pulsing life of them and the atmosphere of metropolis then it is for you. You deal with "ordinary" people, these who observe the city day and night and get her running, not some kind of social elite in isolated luxury districts.

I`m really suprised no one recommeded it yet. Never giving up, surviving and chasing your dreams, no matter what - Rainbow is Naruto of real life. Make no mistake - Rainbow is heavy drama set in post war Japan, no fantastic elements here; teenage characters in both anime. I always put them one next to other.

Both anime center around introverted character that specialises in some characteristic field. Their field of expertise, focus on something and past leaves them somewhat outside of the rest of people. Obviously there are sidekicks to each of them.

Evil or Live
|
Young people put in survival situation, struggling under abuse in closed environment, where they are at mercy of their guardians. Detained people sinned in both series. Make no mistake, Rainbow is masterpiece - heavy drama light years above Evil. So far Evil has much lighter mood, almost comedic elements, lower quality and I don`t like the motifs behind characters, but blood and abuse are present in both series.
