Both are psychological thriller anime with a strong focus on cat-and-mouse games that drive the story forward. In addition to the detective work, they also delve into themes of determination, betrayal, and the consequences of one’s actions. Moreover, the main characters, Light and L; Nine and Twelve; investigate cases throughout the series. If you enjoy a mix of mystery and suspense accompanied by occasional emotional parts to keep you at the edge of your seat, then these two will absolutely be worth watching.

They are both isekai anime with absolutely the best fantasy settings imo, and heavy on comedy. Main characters are also literally vastly reminiscent here, and the art style is in:fact great for both series in the genre. However, the animation quality in No Game No Life is infinitely utmost; it is also quite a bit more ecchi than Mondaji and leans into psychological with the game matches. Nonetheless, I believe that these two are really solid shows and vital chocies for beginning the isekai genre which is the exact way I started both series.
