I liked that Haruka and Rin bring different perspectives to swimming. As a Australian swimmer myself I feel the same way as Haruka feels about the sense of freedom that swimming brings. But can also understand the competitive spirit of Rin. And I like that this is explored in the story.
I really like how the story focuses mainly on the struggle in the relationship between Haruka & Rin. Haruka believes swimming is about embracing a sense of freedom and feeling the sensation of the water. Whereas Rin sees swimming as a form of competition & aspires to win and join the Olympics. Haruka and his friends that he will be leaving to go to Australia to swim and he would like to do a relay together before he leaves. It is here that their ideas of swimming are challenged and where both of them discover the importance of sharing experience of swimming together with their friends.
Opening/Ending:
The opening is more themed to water & ending is more dancy and in set in the desert.
