So apparently this movie is canon and occurs between events in the Dragon Ball Super manga so I decided to give it a watch. I pretty much got what I expected from a Dragon Ball movie: great fights, another strong villain to face, Goku and Vegeta training, all of what makes Dragon Ball what it is. Although nothing in the movie was spectacular, but I still enjoyed myself. The concept of a villain that is gifted with power decided to train for once is interesting at the very least. I was going to wait until all of the show's episodes are out to make a review, but I'm not sure if I'm interested in the anime enough to continue. The best way I can put how I feel about this show is that it doesn't really feel like Dragon Ball. While I am aware of the original Ranma 1/2 manga and anime, I don't know much about it past some of the earlier parts so I cannot comment on how faithful this adaptation is, so I will just review it based on someone who has never heard of the series in any form.

While I do recommend Dragon Ball and think overall it's a good manga, its biggest issue is the beginning parts are so uncomfortable to read with how much sexualization is used early on and nearly all of it involves minors in one way or another. However once you get past that, it's actually pretty good when Roshi isn't there being the "comic relief" pervert. One Piece has some of the best world-building and story-telling in all of manga and anime. Luffy at first glance is a goofy and naïve protagonist, however he may be one of the best protagonists in all of fiction. Almost everything about One Piece is peak, with the only thing preventing it from being a 10/10 is Sanji's character, but even then Sanji has plenty of qualities and good moments that still make him an interesting character even if I personally don't like him.
