Helck is a fantasy adventure manga that really shines in portraying the most beautiful frienship/companionship the starts from a kind of "shared goal" necessity and scepticism and builds into complete trust and great chemistry out of pure empathy and genuine kindness.

trust Helck or not.
Helck is the embodyment of the "Hero" stereotype in its purest form. He is otherworldy powerful and looks absolutely invicible, he never gives up and has lived his whole life caring for his little brother and still only worries and cares for all the people around him, always ready to help everyone no matter what. At the start of the manga, he appears and feels, to be said bluntly, incredibly boring.
It is at this point, that Vamirio enters the scenes. She is a high ranked demon in disguise that is afraid of Helck's power and doesn't trust his good will. Here the work gets a lot of comic relef and quickfire gags that are born from the clash of the sharply definied personalities of the characters and they will be persistent throughout all the volumes keeping the vibes high and the experience lighthearted and entertaining.
The plot will start to deepen quickly unveiling tear-jerking episodes and painful past events that will soon need to be addressed, and eventually Helck and Vamirio will start a journey together that will make them both grow immensely and develop a strong bond and a deep trust and understanding in each other toward what will become a very emotional and heartwarming companionship.
All this is accompanied by fun and interesting side characters with rich roles and very peculiar personalities. They will make you laugh and feel for them.
The whole story developes in a very healthy 12 volumes that are needed to really make this frienship shine.
As for the negatives I will say that I kinda wish the author kept it a bit more simple toward the end which is riddled with plot twists and more complicated stuff happening where I didn't really feel the need for them and the pacing which wanted a 3 page small gag-story at the end of every short chapter. The problem with this is that they break immersion really badly but also you don't really want to skip them cause they are funny AF. I just wished they were timed a bit better.
Overall definitely one of the best fantasy adventure manga I've ever read and it was full of emotions and fun moments. Highly recommended especially for every fan of fantasy settings and for those that enjoy a journey that focus on the bonds between characters

This is a tough one to review.
Who should read this: If you are looking for a chill slife of life school romance with likeable characters, a fair amount of cuteness without being overly cringy and great art go for it.
The premise is fun, a confession goes wrong but it leads them to actually talk naturally and get to know each other, and share their often different points of view. It's interesting to see the difference in how boys and girls view various situations / arguments.
With that out of the way I'll talk about what this work is weak with which is... well.. on paper.. basically

everything.
The pacing is fairly slow. The character progress is virtually nonexistant. It's very difficult to understand why they would even be in love with each other as the manga starts straight out with a confession but the reasons that lead the girl to be in love are pretty damn weak. I could understand if she somehow liked him but here we are talking full on blind love.
The settings are really monotonous and the main love story gets put on hold continuously to give space to side stories that kind of break the pace.
Yet despite all this I gave it a damn high score because.. it's been a very pleasant read. I never really felt bored or annoyed, the situations and arguments were entertaining, the side characters, while kinda out of nowhere, were fun and welcome, and it doesn't really overstay its welcome. So you get a solid, pleasant romance story with a proper ending in 7 volumes, and the art earns it an extra point.
I do feel like wrapping everything up in 4-5 volumes instead of 7 would have brought this among the top, as the latter volumes drag with what often feel like (and probably is) just making up excuses/reasons to make an extra volume. The author paused the main romance to introduce two different extra couples by the very end and that honestly was quite annoying. It would have been much better of just concluding the main story and making extra volumes later. But I guess you need something to lure in readers.
Overall a pleasant read with no drama and great art
7.5 would read again, rounded to 8 because the art was amazing

Before writing a review about this opera it is absolutely necessary to make extremely clear that Darling in the FranXX is an ORIGINAL ANIME SERIE.
This means that the anime came first, and I strongly advise to watch that first and then, if you really must, read the manga.
The anime did have a rushed and somewhat confusing and arguably meh ending. Which is why the manga came out and many people end up reading it after the disappointment of the anime, but the truth is that not only the manga is worse in every aspect (starting with the excess of really not needed fanservice).
The biggest problem

with the manga is that it COMPLETELY MISS THE WHOLE POINT of the anime.
Darling in the FranXX is a brilliant work that bring a lot to think about about how society is evolving and a BIG take on transhumanism all the way up to getting tangled to other kind of extraterrestrial entities which I won't mention more for spoiler reasons.
Now the anime ends up addressing and making tha point that it took over 20 episodes to try to make, although in a rushed and dubious way. The manga basically wipes everything out and take an easy way out.
All the way to the point of completely swapping out the main villain!
If the anime is a serie that tries to bring some ethical questions about what's to come in our society both in a civil and spiritual way the manga is a battle shonen with absolutely no point.
I was expecting a chance to read something that expands on the rushed ending and of the plot points of the original anime work but what i find is a manga that trivialise and throws away all the interesting plot points and rewrites the whole thing in a pointless mecha battle thing with zero depth.
Honestly just watch the anime and take it as it is. I feel like all the people complaining about the ending completely missed the point of it. Sure it felt rushed and it could have been excecuted way better but at least it had some context

This is one of the most disappointing manga I've ever read.
Because it has so much potential! It starts very strong. Great characters, interesting and intriguing world you get suddenly thrown in and there is just much going on. The story starts to unfold and then...
Everything goes down the drain. EVERYTHING.
The plot points that were interesting get completely abandoned. Every questions you started to build up stays unanswered. Evil guys come and go out of nowhere for no reason. The most interesting character that literally gives the name to the serie (Akame) gets benched and only comes up when she's needed to bring out some new
...
antagonist or to throw a bone to the reader.
It completely feels like exactly half way the author lost interest in the opera and/or didn't know what to do with it and just winged EVERYTHING. Love interests with zero grounds just because, an ending that full on transitions to a completely different scale with no need of it.
I would give it a lower score if not for one of the most convoluted and well written villains in manga history that is Esdeath. In a way the manga is worth reading just for her.

I picked it up after watching the anime and I was surprised at how funny this is even knowing what's going to happen. I won't take your time to explain what this story is about as i'm sure you already know the anime or you can read about this anywhere else.
So if you are wondering if you should read this I would say absolutely go for it. The writing is lighthearted and funny, and, what surprised me the most, it keeps pace and originality the whole way through.

5 or so I was laughing my ass off and thinking "ok now this will get repetitive and jokes will start to get old" because I just couldn't fathom how the author could keep up with ideas coming. And boy was I wrong. Then the castle arc started and I was mindblown. The tricks the characters use, the ways they blow through obstacles and the crazy situations they get themselves in. It's just absolutely brilliant.
Sure there is not some deep plot twists or big romance dramas or meaningful philosophy. It's just pure genius, absurd fun, and pure adventure. And everything is written and developed perfectly from start to finish.
This is peak D&Desque adventure comedy 10/10

This is such an underrated gem out there. To be clear: it is a "fairly" light hearted story about a group of ninja spy girls looking over the city and fighting an evil powerful organisation that works in the shadows. Do not expect to be mindblown by some deep plot or highly intellectual content, or every detail being completely covered with no flaw whatsoever. There are some aspects or happenings that are quickly disposed of with some ready explanation and you are just supposed to go with it. But there will also be a lot of scenes that will hit you right in the feels
...
and it is not holding back.
That being said! This serie was such a good surprise! I picked it up out of nowhere and with little expectations as I was just looking for something of good company and it's been an absolute blast to go through!
The pace is good, some episodes are slower than others but they never felt boring. There are a lot of cute moments of affections between the girls which I personally enjoyed but it can definitely feel cheesy if you are not into that. The animation is great! The fight scenes are rich and exciting, the music is always on point to make you immerse in this little spy world and the characters are all interesting on their own and you will soon enough get immersed, enthralled, in their lives and struggles.
I feel like the studio put all their heart into this work and really wanted to make something good out of it and it shows in all the cares for the little details, as simple as the concept itself might be.

Sousou no Frieren is an introspective journey in a fantastic world. It can be extremely melanchonic as you see life flow from both the eyes of an elf that lives through centuries and has to deal with the solitude of the world, where all constructs lose meaning as ethernity freezes everything over, as well as from the eyes of humans that must hurry to find a meaning and a path of their own existence in the extremely short time they have at their disposal and make the best of it.

I have watched tons of anime an read dozens of mangas. There are so many beautiful piece of work. They can be exciting, emotional, can make you cry and sometimes you wish you had never started watching that one serie because of how it makes you feel when a particularly sad ending hits you like a truck. Some works are simply good company and cheer you up as you follow the adventures of some cute girls in their own magic worlds. Some even set you on fire with motivation to do better.
This is a story with a fairly slow pacing, and while it's still filled with action it is also filled with intriguing characters that come and go that bring with them a small piece of history that will make you understand more and more of this world and the different perspectives.
I do not do it lightly when I give this a perfect 10 and I say that it is at the very top of the best animes of all time. The characters are rich and continuously developing and interesting. It doesn't lack to gift you some genuine laughs, the world building is amazing, the action is exciting, the stories deep and emotional, and the oeverall vibes are pure heartbeat.
I absolutely love the manga but Madhouse completely knocked it out of the park with this one. The colors, the animations and the music enrich everything without leaving out anything from the original. To the point that this is probably one of the few stories of which I like the anime better than the read and I can probably count those on one hand too. I am also amazed at how they managed to give a somewhat self conclusive ending to a manga that is still publishing. This is the sign that the studio, instead of going for some easy cliffhanger to hype watchers up for a next season, wanted to bet everything they had in signing a masterpiece. It could be over without a second season and i'd be completely happy with it.
Absolutely amazing and given you know what kind of anime it is and what it offers you are in for a journey
