If you ask me, what is the inspiration for Tokyo Ghoul? The work that I think is directly "Parasyte" is a very good story with a protagonist with an incredible life change and it is also complete and short to watch, a very good recommendation if you are a fan of these ghore stories.

The theme of vampires, an eternal life based on eating people's blood is a similar theme between these two manga. Personally, both are very good stories, with a similar drawing style although quite different plots, if you liked Shigahime, Happiness is another work that you must have in your history.
