This review is more about why you should read this light novel and the good/bad points of it
Why you will keep on reading:
MY FAVORITE POINT: without going into spoilers, the MC falls into a position of leadership early on while knowing he's not fit for it. Through the whole work, you see his hardships and struggles trying to make his comrades survive and become a better leader. It is not said but this is a really psychological light novel and is very nerve wracking on that side.
Hai to gensou no grimgar is set in a REALISTIC fantasy world, you totally forget that it's actually
...
a game-like isekai because of how you're directly immersed in the world and how just natural every interaction and set of events happen
The characters aren't strong and every new skill learnt feels like it's insane even though comparatively speaking to other works, it's just a standard skill.
The world-building is also solid, just enough is said without giving you too much information, you just feel as lost as the characters and nothing is conveniently said at the begining and is only slowly revealed later on.
The characters are well-written, you have your typical characters you see in anime but WITHOUT BEING ROMANTICIZED, you will grow to like and hate certain characters. Despite that, the author somehow makes you care for you comrade as if you were the MC
The fear of death is actually present and is overly stress inducing, it will keep you constantly on the edge of your seat hoping they don't fuck up or something very unlucky happens and someone ends up dying
Downsides:
The written can turn off a lot of people as it is from the MC's perspective and is overthinking absolutely everything in order to take the best course of action, although it's my favorite part, it might not be for everyone
The party you're following really suck, honestly, they're terrible, they do get insanely better as they gain experience but that's just life, they are people much better than them skill wise but they still make it out alive unlike people who are better than them. Basically, if you're into power fantasy and that's what you're looking for you shouldn't be reading it man
Also, towards the latest volumes, there are some weird arcs that don't really make sense and just feel like fillers, I didn't hate them but that's just a small regret of mine.
OVERALL: This light novel is a masterpiece, I love it despite knowing its shortcoming but that's what everything is all about right?
I would highly recommend you to read it as it is a very refreshing light novel that just seem to always surprise you. Especially with the MC feeling really relatable always overthinking the smallest desicion haha Although it is understandable as his comrades' lives are on his shoulders
Hope it helped you

Just read it already, basically one of the best romance I've ever read and I'm basically a romance tard so trust me. If you want a better analysis here you go:
The premise is simple but effective af, it never seems repetitive (I can't speak too much or I'll spoil :') ). It will break you to tears for about anything and it'll make you smile as much. (I really made it simple because I would spoil sorry)
The illustrations are really good for a light novel I'd say, they really enphasyze the whole story and characters.
And now to the best part, the characters. Just
...
pure orgasm of character development I'd say, the female lead a male lead jsut works perfectly, they have different personalities but they balance each others and help one another threw out the book. (Ending :O)
As for my enjoyment and the overall score, hehe, 10/10! didn't see it coming dontcha! Like I said, one of the best romance I've read, I'm sorry for this poor detailed review but anything I would say would have spoiled you the experienced. It's something that needs to be read and not told.
Thank you for your time ;)

So yeah, 4 cut Hero, bassically like KonoSuba but this time there are a shit ton of characters and they are all op af.
First, the Art style (10/10): It's a Manwha so the fact that it's colored is a plus and the art style gives the same wacky vibe as KonoSuba (yeah I'm gonna take it as an example because they look a lot alike). Just by the drawings of the facial expressions can make you laugh.
Second, the Story (10/10): Definitly where I least supected it to be the best in my opinion. You start with just the character and some random jokes etc
...
but the story escalate a lot and you end up with a multi century fuckhole where if you don't remember the name of everybody, you're gonna have a bad time. But yeah, everything is related to another thing and it's where the manga truly shine (beside the humor)
Third, the Characters (10/10): As I mentionned above, there are a lot of characters (for me it was a lot of character). There is the Demon Army and The Good Guys Army (I don't remember the name sorry), and you just learn about each sides with each characters. You really start with like the hero and then you just meet a lot of nex people with all their quirk (because they are just a bunch of degenerates).
Last, Enjoyment (10/10): Not really that surprising, just everything in this manwha is funny and entertaining, from the character design to the drawings, everything is a potential for a joke. Eventhough everything is funny, it knows how to be serious when it needs to wich at these times is really enjoyable.
Overall I give it a 10/10 obviously. I really couldn't find anyflaws in my opinion, just a really good manwha and if you are a fan of KonoSuba, you'll definitly feel good at home with this one.
Thanks for reading :)

Spoiler-free (but this review is very long(but I put all my heart in it))
All of it began when I was 7 years old, my grand-mother for some reasons, ended up buying the first volume of Love Hina for my sister. And even now, we both ended up loving the manga. We loved it so much that we even had all the CDs of the anime. Love hina was the first manga that introduced me to the manga world as well as the anime world, even before naruto. And this fresh air from the generic looking cartoons I had back there, it was the first time
...
I was enjoying at maximum something. His artsyle was really good for a romcom and the warm feeling you get from reading it is one of the best feeling I've ever had. The comedy was all I asked for at the time, it cheered me up so many times that I don't even remember and just looking back at it some times just reminds me of how beautiful it was. Thus, you can't even think how sad I felt when Love Hina came to an end. There was this huge whole I had and not seeing whole the cute faces of the girls in the manga just felt unbearable (I swear it was true despair xD). So at some point I got into naruto and loved it as much, but it never could have reached how good Love Hina was so when some day my mother came back with Negima! from the same mangaka, you can't just imagine how happy I was just discovering a whole new world once again but with the same vibe and warm feeling. And once again, it came to an end, it was once again painful. And thus, I thought I could never found something better than that. But oh boy how foolish I was. I don't know why(maybe because I'm stupid) but I've never wondered if Ken Akamtsu did other stuff after Negima. Until last year's summer. I was at the beach and I found a library that sells mangas, I thought it was surprising and just picked some random mangas. And I swear I almost cried in front of everybody.
I FOUND UQ HOLDER (aka Negima 2)
After this story comes the shit you were waiting for.
Story: Ken Akamatsu made a name of himself as the final boss of harem mangas, and this one is better than anyothers he has created thus far. What stroke me in negima was the harem side with action that felt right. You didn't really think it was wrong for a teacher to be hanging around with hot high school whom wants his banana. The action fights felt really good as well. And you find everything back but better. He managed to find something refreshing of all his work so far and you can see that the story is developping from what negima left.
Art: That's where Ken Akamatsu truly shines in my opinion. The fact that it's a romcom (yes it is) but with action is already good enough, but his art style is just made for it, I probably laughed at lout a lot but most of the time I was just smiling. The art express just how much fun and love he is giving in every panels. And I'm getting to the fights, OHHHHHH the fights. If you are a shounen tard, you'll get everything you want. You've read my hero academia yet? You thought the fights scenes were epic? Damn you're not prepared for this. The amount of details there are in the fight scenes is hallucinating, I always found myself on the edge of my seat even for the smallest fights to tell you the truth. By the way, he was one of the most emblematic user of tip-ex for drawing the thunder spells, just letting you know who the hell he is.
Character: I'm repeating myself but this guy is a beast in this category as well. Just how hard is it for a normal manga with like 5 character to develop them. Now think when it is a harem. That's the first thing we say about harems; it's the fact that the character development sucks. And I can't safelty say that this manga won't let you down. Every character has his personnality and his past, they all have a different personnality as well and the relations they hold betwenn all the characters will fill you with warm. It's like you are part of this big "family" (well they are just friends/acquitenances but it feels like they have really deeps bonds for some reasons, just shut up and lemme suck this manga please)
(Ill just do a category Enjoyment/Overall)
So what can I say about it in the end. Well first, you defntily have to read the first Negima to read this one or you'll understand nothing so check it out, it's high quality content, one of the best mangas ever in my opinion. Then, about the real shit, personnally I hadent touch a Ken Akamatsu mangafor like more than 5 years so you can imagine how nostalgic I was when I read it and my reaction when they were some familiar faces in it (as well as his unique art-style). It's definilty a must-read for every manga fan and a classic as well. You feel refreshed and good when you read it, it's like ecstasy you know. So here it is, 10/10 for sure. You should definnetly check Love Hina as well. You know when I made the comparaison with the fight scenes in My Hero Academia? It was to lead to now, you remmeber when the first season of my hero academia (I'm talking about the anime yes) first came out? Everybody saying "back to the routs of shounen", "It doesn't revolutionyze the genre but it's good" and stuff? Like it was the product of every shounen this far?Well you see, Ken Akamatsu is an own genre of it's own and this guy was able to imrpove his genre during all his work so far and you can clearly see how masterfully Uq Holder is made. Everything he has done leads to what it is now, one of the most entertaining manga to read and it's so damn good.
PS: Sorry for this long ass review hoped you read it this far and I'm glad if you did and just did not skip to the end (if you're reading this and you feel guilty read it :(< ), this review was really close to my heart because Ken Akamatsu is truly a part of my identity as a human being. I'm talking about it now because it fits what I wanna talk so here it goes., just telling you that this manga was my light of hope when I was in a 10 years span of despair for me and my gamily as a whole and all his work realyl did save me. It was the only one that could touch my heart at the time and just ritting this review fills me with nostalgia. So here it ends. Finnally for you ^^ Still hope you liked it even though it was long xD
Also sorry if my grammar was quirky and almost burned your eyes I'm not a nattive speaker ^^' Hope you held on to ;)

Eien no Zero set us with the Main character: Kentarou Saeki who is a NEET. Her sister has to make an article about the kamikaze during WW2 and thus, she asks Kentarou to find testimonies abound their grand-father who died during the war.
This manga show us the true feelings of kamikazes, this term was used for the 9/11 attacks by the media even though the term is wrong. Because of it, people misunderstand kamikaze and terrorist. The manga explains us that kamikazes weren't all fine with the fact of dying for their country, but because of the pressure of immediate superiors they had no choice
...
but to give their lives.
The story is really heart-breaking, without spoiling, you'll be even able to understand why people shouldn't commit suicide. With this
In addition to it, the art is really good and so as the fights, I can't explain accurately but all the storyboards are perfect and there is no doubt on how to read it. There are also a lot of 2 pages illustrations as well as a lot of landscapes from japan (also a lot of explosions).
Character is where it gets tricky. In my opinion, kentarou is a really week character in the sense that you don't actually see how he reacts. His thoughts aren't that much explained. Besides him, the witnesses from the war are all different and has their own personalities as well as why they survived with is my favorite part.
Since childhood I've always been captivated by planes to the point I wanted to do it my future jobs. I was always playing games about war in airships and stuff like this and you can understand why I loved this manga so much. It has the combat from my childhood but also the thoughts of an adult who doesn't want to die.
Overall I give this manga 10 out of 10. I can't say anything against it, it's perfect in every point in my opinion. I'll probably recommend to anybody that wants to get into mangas that are more serious and more thoughtful.
Thanks for reading this review and my apologizes for my bad english :3

NO SPOILERS
"There is no great genius without some touch of madness"-Aristotle
This what I can conclude from watching this anime and enjoying the hell out of it. First episode is really slow but it introduce you the characters wich are awesome so it's not an issue at all.
Story(10): Basically, there are 12 people on an Island in a mansion; in these 12 people, there are 7 geniuses from different specialyzations, add some mystery and a heavy atmosphere et voilà, you got the plot. Fairly easy to understand but done masterfully, but be aware that you'll probably have to rewatch some passages to fully understand what's going
...
on(or it can be my bad because I'm really bad at remember names and stuff)
Art(10): What can I say about the art? It's the same pallet of colours as Tsuritama and Gatchaman Crowds wich are really close to my heart so you guest it: Fanboy. By the way, it's the same studio that made the monogatari series so the direction is also really good.
Sound(10): Nothing much to say... You just feel that the mansion is huge wich relate to the heavy atmosphere.
Character(10): I can't say much without spoiling so... The mc is not like any other mc in my opinion, I couldn't relate myself to him nor the other characters(because I'm not a genius obviously and they are not thinking in the same way as I do...) Also, the female mc is really good(not gonna explain why(best girl)) I really don't wanna talk much about them because I wanna keep you from knowing too much before you watch it ^^
Enjoyment(10): Well, let's recap. I love this anime because it reminds me from shows I really like(Tsuritama, Gatchaman crowds) but also shows that I don't like too much because it was missing something(monogatari series) and this anime made what the monogatari series wasn't able to do(Probably because the mystery genre works well with the direction of the monogatari series). I also love it because of that satisfaction when everything clears up and you remind yourself everysingle details you had forgotten about through out the show ^^
In conclusion, I gave this anime a 10 out of 10 (obviously from what you read before). Do I miss something? Please no :(
Hope this review helped you out ;)
