If you liked the other seasons, this is the best one yet. The cute fluffiness is ramped to the max in this third season. The colors are vibrant, the stories are engaging, and the characters are as loveable as ever. Watching each episode, I had this uncontrollably involuntary silly grin fixed on my face. Honestly ended every episode with manly tears ;^;
GochiUsa is the kind of show that's impossible to have a favorite character. Right when you decide, "Yeah, that's my favorite character" -- you realize, "Ah, but what about that character!? ...and that character!? and that one too! *raaarrrrghhh*" This season preserves that feeling,
...
giving each character its proper time-in-the-sun with much appreciated development.
As with the other seasons, the opening theme, ending theme, and insert songs are on point.
I do recommend watching the previous entries beforehand, as there is a lot to be appreciated from previous occurrences.
The fuwa-fuwa quality is off the charts here, and I am certain you will like it. Well, if you've watched the others, there's little question you would try this one.
So let this review affirm any questions and wonderings you may have had!

It's kinda boring and slow. I've been calling it "Exposition - The Anime".
Overlord is the show where the actual main characters are the uninteresting unremarkable side characters. 36 episodes in, I know more about every side character, town, kingdom, beast, and monster than all floor guardians and ainz put together.
First season was cool - cool premise, cool music, and more importantly, COOL CHARACTERS!
If you saw the first season, you'll agree it was pretty sweet. And you're nipping at the heels to find out more about Ainz and friends, thinking
"I love these characters, they're so different, their character designs are great, there's so
...
much mystery to each of them -- I'd sure love to learn more about them"
second season hits -- *let's instead focus on the world around us and weave our masterful plan
"...ok....well...I guess that makes sense..I can't get mad at that..I sure would love to learn about these characters though!"
third season hits -- *let's just pretend the first season never happened so we can just build on the second season
"...but the characters are cool...why don't you want to tell me about them ;_; "
Ok, so all that aside. I'm a patient dude. I got hooked and loved the characters.
Patiently waited through the exposition of the second season to see any main character development.
Patiently watched through season three only to see more world-building.
No anime requires this much exposition to be interesting. 24 episodes is a biiiiig leash to work with. It's your own darn fault if you can't condense your material and get the job done
I can only think of one other anime that required 24 episodes of exposition -- and that was a psychological thriller with a HUGE and CRAZY premise and had you rushing to click "next episode".
This? well, I watched the next episode more out of obligation, rather than excitement to see whats next.
Overlord 4....you better do something crazy cool and amazing......you'll have no excuse if it's anything less than.

This show is boring and I didn't like it.
I was pretty excited from seeing the trailer because I love over-the-top crazy absurd themes and concepts. I certainly enjoy other ecchi anime series.
This though...well...gets very tiresome, very fast. There's certainly an art to how to make an ecchi anime ridiculous, and hilarious. And that art is how to balance content with variety.
No one likes hearing the same joke 24 times right? Well -- thats essentially my experience here. I enjoyed episode 1 --
And then I was bored. It's the same thing on repeat.
And then I was confused, as I found myself cheering for the antagonist
...
instead. Rationalizing why the main characters are boring.
It's a weird show and I don't understand it. Would not recommend to anyone, even if they did like ecchi -- only if you like watching the same gimmick / joke on repeat.

This is a review from someone who hasn't read the visual novel.
I have only watched the anime. I started it because it looked really funny, and I saw a scene from a youtube video - it was ecchi and comical.
I liked it, it was super funny, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.
The first half was formulaic, but in a GOOD way! It had just the right amount of ecchi to comedy balance. The characters were great too, each with their own quirks. And somehow, there was a sense of camaraderie, like there was no jealousy or infighting. It's something
...
I never really see.
The intro and outro music were catchy too, I enjoyed them quite a bit.
I was settling in for a comfortable ride of comical ecchi nonsense, but then the series took a turn and made a couple changes -
The last several episodes introduced a plot (yes, that late) and changed to a battle anime. It was almost exclusively battle, with no comedy. The tone shifted to a more serious drama. Which not only felt contrived, but the battling was also just kinda....lame. Like, "Oh crap guys, we forgot to add some plot and interpersonal conflict -- lets fit this in at the end. Ok? Great. Good meeting guys"
The characters I liked, were then consumed by jealously and drama --- they became obnoxious. A good amount of cat-fights ensued, and typical character archetypes took over. It was annoying. The enemy characters had plot armor, were conveniently good at everything, and had a lame, mostly unexplained ambition. It was hard for me to even adapt to this haphazard change
(You may be thinking "Oh, he just likes ecchi comedy scenes and doesn't like change -- watch something else" , but I do actually like battle -- and I actually tried to rationalize and enjoy this change)
There were a number of elements introduced early on that could have been expanded upon. They were introduced only to be left alone. These would have been better ideas to cover instead of shoving a bunch of battle scenes at the end.
The feeling I have is disappointment. That feeling of enjoying a good anime, and being let down and frustrated at the end. It's arguably worse than watching a consistently bad anime since you know it's bad.

This review will be brief, and concise. Should I watch Kakegurui xx?
No, I wouldn't recommend it.
There was something...missing the whole season. It has a distinctly different feeling and direction than the previous season. Kakegurui S1 was a breath of fresh of air for me - it was new, exciting, crazy, and weird! Unafraid to be different amongst a sea of other airing anime. I really, really never knew what was going to happen next!
Kakegurui xx -- as you might have figured already, is none of that. The premise of the entire season is introduced early on - which is fine, but it's
...
kinda boring? There's nothing really exciting about the stakes introduced, and nothing grand stands to be lost. It kind of feels like someone put training wheels on my bike and is pushing me from behind.
So, not only is it now boring, but you know the ending; the direction is clear and predictable.
Most of the gambles lack a sense of urgency, and a real absolute need to win. The thrill, the excitement, the mystery, the cheating, the anticipation of the reveal is......absent.
Which makes the crazy expressions of yumeko feel forced and more like sadistic fan-service. I dare say, yumeko may not be the main character in this series. She had very little development, making the aforementioned expressions feel moreso.
There's also an entire new cast of characters that I was excited to learn about -- despite having a grand introduction and purpose .... there wasn't much light shed on them (save for one).
All in all, I am disappointed with kakegurui xx - I think it was predictable, slow, and well - arbitrary.
I loved the OP though.

It started at a 7 and had the potential to go like an 8 if something really really cool happened. It was already just cool with the action and cool sword fighting that was going on. In addition to crazy random creature abilities and fighting abilities and stuff. So that part of the show was definitely cool, I enjoyed it.
There were many things to be answered, and many interesting points to be looked at. But none of them were really addressed, all the questions you might have are like, well nope. There were also things that just weren't necessary and/or relevant to the plot they
...
developed. For instance, it is clear within 10 episodes who Final Boss is. However, episodes after it they introduce Final Boss 2, Final Boss 3 and implicitly Final Boss 3,4, and 5. Why they do this? I don't know, it definitely did not need to happen. Was meaningless to the storyline, and gave rise to more questions.
They honestly had a streamlined, clear, concise road ahead of them which was not complicated at all. They however, did not take it. This reaaaaaaallly looks like the kind of thing that has continuing story in the manga, whereas that's it for the anime. There's so many questions and loose ends, I know there has to be more; it really feels like I'm only half way through the story.
The ending song for the anime is awesome. What can I say, I love the ending. It's by awesome cute former bemani group BeForU member, Riyu Kosaka. Who makes awesome group (and individually) makes awesome DDR/Beatmania songs.
Ending was lame I think.
It ends up getting a 5, and I'll tell you why. Simply because of the cool action, sword fighting scenes, and the awesome ending song for the show. The ending song actually prevented it from getting a 4 in my opinion. Nonetheless, with the amount of unanswered questions and disappointment arising from series completion, it gets lots of minus points. Resulting in a 5. I enjoyed it but there were noticeable issues by the end of the show.
