Some say the plot devolved when the big reveal of the villain was made, other say the ridiculous ending is what made this series bad.
I agree with all the above and more, this show just couldn't string a along a story and had to stuff needless symbolism where it wasn't needed and made the plot so exceedingly obvious that it bordered insulting. For example the prominent use of red to show violence or hidden intentions was necessary at some points to contrast with the white winter scenery but most of the time it felt out of place and over saturated.
