Whyyy are there no reviews for Wedding Peach? I just noticed this and I decided something needed to be done about it!
Wedding Peach is, by far, my favorite pure maho shojo. What makes a pure maho shojo is that it is basically about a girl that uses some sort of device to transform into her "better" self, and gains super powers and defeats evil. And, of course, there has to be romance, and really heavy emphasis on friendship.
The most famous of maho shojo has to be Sailor Moon, and while that was always my favorite maho shojo for years, I watched Wedding Peach and realized ... that Sailor Moon doesn't live up to wedding peach.

Story: The story is about Momoko, a girl with a LOT of pink hair that lives with her father. The plot line is similar to Sailor Moon--if you've seen Sailor Moon you'll definitely like Wedding Peach. The difference is that Wedding Peach is entirely wedding themed. All of the weapons that the Love Angels use have to do with love and marriage instead of love and planets, and there is even a wedding episode similar to an early episode of Sailor Moon.
But what really sets Wedding Peach apart is the romance. I don't want to give anything away, but the romance is soooo much better than the romance in Sailor Moon. Momoko takes a really long time to realize who she is in love with, and the romance happens to be very Romeo and Juliet-esque. They are forbidden to love one another and the last ten or so episodes are really romantic. I think that's why I loved it so much, because both of the characters really loved each other and went through so many struggles to be with one another even though the Angel and Demon worlds forbid it.

Art: Okay, yes, it's HORRIBLY '90s. It's the same style as Sailor Moon, and let me say, the wedding dresses are just awful. The only saving one is Angel Daisy's because hers is less frilly. I really liked how the guys had longish hair, unlike the guys in Sailor Moon, who had really ugly short haircuts. Wedding Peach is just slightly more updated.

Sound: Nothing wrong with the sound...um, Yuri's voice can get kind of annoying but I'll get to her in a second. I liked the opening song a lot, too.

Character: I loved Momoko, she is so cute and definitely not as annoying and whiny as Sailor Moon. My only issue is Yuri. She reminds me a little of Tomoyo from Card Captors. Kind of a breathy-whiny voice, and her character usually makes me annoyed. Her romance is definitely not as romantic as Momoko's, and I don't really feel all that sorry for her because to me, she's not that nice of a friend. :) Yousuke is AWESOME though, he is by far the best male character. And Jama-P, the little sidekick devil-turned-good thing is soooo adorable, it makes you wish you had a Jama-P. Also, the addition of the fourth Love Angel is nice, because though she's very stuck-up and doesn't want to work with the others, she's really pretty and an awesome fighter.

Enjoyment: I really enjoyed Wedding Peach. Every anime has its filler episodes but even the Wedding Peach fillers are bearable, unlike the Sailor Moon ones. I hated how the main focus of Sailor Moon was the "Villain of the Day" where you never saw a villain's character develop and got these really freaky looking monsters every episode. Wedding Peach tends to do the same but it's not annoying at all. I was really sad when the series ended and disappointed with Wedding Peach DX [DON'T WATCH IT unless you want to see a cute little maho shojo get ecchied up. Plus, it doesn't give you more of the type of stories you're craving for].

Overall, I give it a ten. Because it's the best pure maho shojo I've ever seen. Definitely give it a try if you're into maho shojo or just shojo in general. Yes, it sometimes does really remind you of Sailor Moon, but it's worth it and the story is a whole lot better!

***A word to the wise: You should probably only read this review if you haven't read the manga version. If you HAVE read it, and have an open mind, then my review will probably help too***

I've seen a few animes that have been based off of mangas [it seems like less and less anime these days are original] and it is very rare that the entire plot line will be in the anime. I was delighted with Itazura na Kiss because for the most part, it does follow the manga version very well, and the characters look the same in both anime and manga.
As ... for Tsubasa Chronicle, I have only glanced at the manga and never read it. However, I know how it is to read a manga, see the anime version, and be very disappointed. That is why I said if you have read the manga, you should probably not watch Tsubasa Chronicle, for you will be very upset. I know that it strays from it's original plot, but if you have just finished, say, Cardcaptor Sakura and want to watch the "next" thing, then I highly suggest Tsubasa Chronicle. Here is why.

Story: The story follows Syaoran and Sakura from Cardcaptors, but that is all they are. Their appearances are of a teenage Syaoran and Sakura, but their personalities are in no way the same, except that Sakura is still sweet. Syaoran does not still have that awkward temper of his from Cardcaptors, so when you are watching this anime you kind of forget who their original characters were [which is a good thing, because if you didn't, you'd watch the series very disappointed that Sakura isn't with Kero-chan whipping out Sakura cards with Syaoran trying to confess to her :p]. Anyway, Sakura has lost her memory through feathers that sprouted into wings out of her back, and Syaoran travels with the memory-free Sakura through different worlds to collect the feathers and return her memory. However, in exchange for being able to save her, Syaoran has to agree to let the memories of him be erased from Sakura's memory [and it is highly hinted that Sakura is in love with Syaoran, who, judging by his actions, is also in love with her]. So this time around, it is Syaoran fighting, and not Sakura. It's a good story, because traveling to different worlds is very interesting to watch. Instead of being like a normal plot line where you get a different world for every episode, they will stay in one world for around three episodes and develop characters in the other worlds, which I think is very interesting and nice, because normally anime only focuses on the central characters.

Art: Some people complain about the art. It is a little quick looking because their limbs are long lines with large hands, but I actually like it. It's a nice change from the usual super-detailed Clamp because it makes the characters move a little better and it looks a little more updated. I'm not saying it's the best ever, but it honestly doesn't bother me. There is still a lot of super-detailed Clamp things like the clothing, magical items, etc.

Sounds: The music is beautiful. It does get used a lot, the same thing over and over I mean, but all in all it's really pretty and epic. It's not something you'd expect from this anime, and I like the recurring themes so much I don't mind if they get played again.

Character: I personally like this Syaoran. He is a little predictable, but he is tough and fights with all of his heart to find Sakura's feathers, even though he has no motivation but to save her, since she has lost her memories of him. It is his love for her that makes him different from usual characters. He's not weak, he doesn't back down. All he needs is to look at Sakura and he is filled with the spirit to fight for her. Sakura, if you'll pardon me, reminds me greatly of Chi from Chobits when she loses her memory. If you watch the anime, you'll see what I mean. I half expected her to go "Chiiiiii?" every time she saw something like a bird or a new person. Thankfully, she doesn't go so far as to refer to herself in third person. She does, however, get the same happy, dazed looks that Chi gets, and smiles a lot which seems to turn even bad guys good. But hey, it's still Clamp after all. ;-] Sakura and Syaoran are also joined by Fai, who is a delightfully carefree magician that is so classic with Clamp because of his easy-going nature, and Kurogane, who is a tough warrior that works together with Fai and brings a lot of the comedy to the story. Mokona from Rayearth is also there, and he is just soooooo cute. :D You will see a lot of characters from other Clamp works, but be warned: THEY ARE NOT THE SAME. They only LOOK like their original characters, but their personalities are different. Although it has to be said...Yukito and Sakura's brother from Cardcaptor sort of hint at their original characters, especially when you see them in different worlds. :D

Enjoyment: So far, I'm enjoying it. Everyone said that I would hate it after I'd seen 10 episodes, but I am on 13 and still like it. I know I'll finish it. I mean yes, a lot of time is spent panning character's faces and doing flashbacks to the previous episode at the beginning of a new one, but if you skip it and just put up with a lot of zooming in on Syaoran's face, then you'll be able to finish it too. I have to admit, it is the worst zooming-in-on-a-character-to-use-up-time I've ever seen, but I just try to ignore it. But hey, I still look forward to each episode, so obviously it's not as big of a deal as everyone says it is.

Overall: Like I said at the beginning of my long review, just watch it if you haven't read the manga. It really is a good story if you just treat it like an anime and not an anime based off of a manga. Albeit the long pauses on someone's face, the repetitive themes, and the flashbacks, I'm still enjoying it. And I've given up animes before that were far worse. So give it a shot and try to finish it. ;-]

The series has just ended, and I can finally deem myself worthy enough to write a review. But beware spoilers after the first paragraph!

What is Itazura na Kiss exactly? Probably the most amazing, wonderful, and romantic anime you will ever find. The story follows Kotoko, a cute and spunky girl who, though she is not book smart, is makes up for it in personality traits that a normal human could not possess. Kotoko is the girl everyone who has failed a class wants to be, the girl that gets kicked around by those smarter and more attractive than herself, but who is able to ... ignore all of these things because of her strong will and determination.
At the beginning, we are introduced to not only Kotoko but Irie-kun, the most intelligent and attractive student in, well, Japan. He is so scarily intelligent and good looking that it is only natural he shuns every girl who professes her love to him. And so naturally, when Kotoko, who has had her eye on Irie for years, tries to give him a love letter, he refuses it. Normally, for any girl, this is where the story would end, but for Kotoko it is only the beginning. After a series of unfortunate events, Kotoko and her father end up in Irie's home. And so begins the story of Itazura na Kiss. Kotoko is put through many trials as she tries to show Irie that she loves him, and living with him and having his AMAZINGLY AWESOMELY HILARIOUS MOTHER on her side is a huge help!

There is a lot to the story that if I said a lot more it would just spoil it, so I'm going to say this at least: Watch Itazura na Kiss. It's hilarious but the love story is one of the most amazing and romantic ones you will ever find. Kotoko will remain one of my favorite characters of all time because through her hard work and determination to win the one that she loves, she proves to everyone that you CAN have your happy ending and have everything you could possibly ever want.

ART: The art may seem a little off, but they tried to stick to the original character designs by Kaoru Tada, who died in the process of writing the manga for it. Episode 25 is scarily a lot like the manga in terms of art. Irie and Kotoko change after they get married...it's hard to put your finger on what is so different. But as the story processes the art seems to get a little sloppier. Other than that, I'm really glad they stuck to Kaoru Tada's original design for the most part.

SOUND: Sound is good. Kotoko has a really cute voice, Irie rarely talks so his is not as important. It's Irie's mother that is so amazing, her laugh is the PERFECT "oh ho ho!" laugh.

CHARACTER: Like I said, you'll never find another like Kotoko. And it's really sweet to see how Irie changes the more that Kotoko affects him and makes him think and wonder about his life, and about how he feels about her. Hands down though, Irie's mother is the best character though. She plays so many tricks to get Kotoko--the daughter she never had--to have her way, and tries to steer Irie along into her trap. She is forceful and hilarious and brings most of the comedy into the VERY sarcastic series.

ENJOYMENT: I was of course very happy watching the series. Filler episodes tend to get annoying, but you're just dying to see what Irie will do next in the earlier episodes. There is a lot that isn't covered in the series that you should know about Irie. I highly suggest reading the manga or at least checking out the Wikipedia article on Itazura na Kiss.

OVERALL: Best anime ever. It was totally amazing, and it doesn't matter WHAT you're genre is: Mecha, Shoujo, Shonen, etc. Just watch Itazura na Kiss. It's the anime that falls into it's own genre because it is so amazing. ARIGATO KAORU TADA FOR YOUR CREATION!!!

You want drama, fantasy, romance, and shoujo with a little bit of comedy? I give you: Princess Tutu. Princess Tutu is definitely not your typical shoujo. It's far from transforming into something pink and frilly and calling out "Pichi Pichi Voice Live Start!"

Story--Ahiru is a duck that is turned into a human girl. Her passion is ballet, which is what this anime centers around. The funny part about Ahiru is that she will randomly "quack!" and have to dive into any form of water to change back into a human. The romance is great because you want Ahiru, the heroine, to end up with ... who you think is the hero, and you end up not exactly liking the villain/rival of Ahiru but you pity her and want her to become a sort of heroine (I'm trying not to give too many spoilers away!) One AMAZING thing about this anime is that it centers around different ballets, and being a classical musician myself, I was super excited when there was an episode dedicated to my favorite ballet, Scheherazade. I also really like how they fight with dancing, but it's in no way like fighting with singing like in Mermaid Melody. It's a lot more complex and realistic.

Art--I personally loved the art. I thought the artwork was really well done. The characters were cute, especially Ahiru, but it was more the scenery that was well drawn.

Sound--Ahiru has an adorable voice. I think the character's voices fit very well. The best part though is the music. This anime incorporates so much classical music into it that it almost seems to be something more than an anime. It seems like the writers really went into research about different ballet scores, because the musical storyline is fantastic.

Character--Ahiru is one of my favorite anime characters of all time. Fayto is also amazing, he is so cool and by the end of the series the two of them will have you begging for another season because they end on such a sweet note that really makes you want more.

Enjoyment--So as you can tell, I really enjoyed it. I hardly classify it as shoujo because it is so amazing, but it still is shoujo so be warned that there will be transformation sequences. The storyline can get confusing...VERY confusing, actually...but you'll figure it out eventually. It's just so...GOOD.

Overall--This anime is by far one of my favorites of all time, and I plan on rewatching it once I'm done watching Chobits for the first time and not keeping up with Shugo Chara and Itazura na Kiss. :p

Shugo Chara!!!! I'm just going to come right out and say it: It's AWESOME! Finally, a shoujo that isn't like all the others!
Shugo Chara is about Amu, a girl who is known as "Cool & spicy" [if that doesn't already make you laugh, I don't know what will] by her classmates. She doesn't have any friends because she gives off this cool, "do whatever you want" demeanor, but inside she is very lonely and doesn't like how people see her. Amu, convinced she is not her "would be self" prays to be remade, and the next morning wakes up to find three eggs in ... her bed.
So let me say here: DO NOT LET THE EGGS THROW YOU OFF!!!! The whole egg concept is kind of dumb [the opening theme starts out saying "all kids have an egg in their heart" which, if you think about it, kind of sounds like some illness] but it totally works. Amu can be remade into three different would-be-selves, and her Charas (the would-be-selves that were born from the eggs) are so cute!
The romance in Shugo Chara is also wonderful. Coming from someone that is a huge Itazura na Kiss fan, I really wanted to watch something that had some romance in it and Shugo Chara delivers. What's so great is that you have absolutely no idea who she will end up with (but you'll be voting for Ikuto, because he is H-O-T).

My only complaint is the egg thing again. The fact that she her transformation, er, "thing" (like Sailor Moon's mirror compact) is called the Humpty Lock, and that the evil force is called the Easter Company. I don't like the egg-ness of all of that, but if you ignore it, you see some GREAT characters. The character transformations are hilarious, and this anime will guarantee you some laughs. DEFINITELY give it a try and you'll see how great it is. Shugo Chara is quickly becoming my favorite shoujo of all time!

Story--like I said, it's a good story, typical shoujo, but with a twist. That's why I gave it a ten. The villains are not what you're used to!

Art--I personally love the art, you get used to Amu's pink hair. :p

Sound--The voices fit each character and Amu actually has a really good voice.

Character--Amu is not your typical shoujo girl. Though she is weak because she doesn't know who she really is, she is funny and never acts in the typical shoujo-ditzy-clueless-I'm-Sailor Moon/Mermaid Melody-way. She doesn't act for the guys that she likes, she acts for herself.

Enjoyment--Fantastic! Like I said, it's a hilarious story and I rarely laugh when watching anime.

Overall--A perfect ten. Even the filler episodes are great.

Gakuen Alice...how I put off this anime for awhile, because it seemed so childish. Oh, how wrong I was. A lot of people recommend GA if you liked Kamichama Karin [which is absolutely fantastic] but I was very skeptical about GA. So here it goes:
AMAZING. This anime is fantastic. The only anime that has ever made me really laugh is Ouran High School Host Club, but Gakuen Alice is so clever that it definitely comes in second. Mikan is your typical happy-go-lucky over excited school girl, kind of like Usagi from Sailor Moon, except Mikan never complains and tries her hardest at everything. What's amazing ... is how she goes from one of the most hated kids in the entire school to one of the most loved. Her devotion to her friends is astonishing (although Hotaru, though she really cares about Mikan, gets very annoying and you get frustrated with Mikan for always being so dedicated to her). The characters are all fantastically done, not artwork wise I mean, but character wise. They all have so much depth, and change so much. It's almost more like a fairy tale at some points.

So yes, the artwork at first doesn't look fantastic. Mikan is not your typical super-cute sort of girl like in Kamichama Karin or even Mermaid Melody, but she has the best personality you'll ever see. So for any skeptics, I guarantee that you'll laugh and really enjoy this anime. I've never watched one so quickly, and I'm not even done yet. But it's fantastic! And the romance is great! FINALLY a love triangle, I get tired of two-sided love, and Mikan has two guys competing for her.

Please please watch this anime, it's so much better than you would think, and it makes you wish that you, too, had an Alice and could attend the school.

Well well well, what is there to say about Kamichama Karin? A lot, actually. I was skeptical about this anime at first, because I thought from the picture/description it was for little kids, but I was so so so wrong. Kamichama Karin is a confusing anime, with many twists and turns, and by the end of it you're going to have your eyebrow raised and your mouth hanging open, saying "...WHAT???" But above all else, you're going to love it. Kamichama Karin is about a young girl who is given the power of a goddess through a magic ring. I won't give any spoilers away, ... but this is the first anime I've ever seen where if you don't know the spoiler, then you'll look at this anime and think "This really doesn't look worth watching." Trust me, it is. This isn't your typical magical girl fluff.

Story
CONFUSING. But I liked it. Like I said, I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I love Karin's "I AM GOD!" and I read that the author started Kamichama Karin as a joke to the magical girl genre. But nonetheless, the story turns pretty serious, even though this anime started out as a joke.

Art
I LOVED the art. The characters are adorable, with huge eyes and sweet faces. Their outfits are so cute, especially their Lolita-esque school uniforms. The art is quite good, overall.

Sound
Well for sound. I loved everyone's voice except for Himeka. Karin's is just adorable and Kujyou's is great!

Character
Here's my main complaint. HIMEKA. I cannot STAND Himeka's character. She starts off really cute in the first episode, but you'll soon find that her voice will drive you crazy. She talks so slowly, and ends all of her sentences with the same breathy, high pitched noise. Plus, her character is very annoying because you can never guess if she is good or bad, what she means to Kujyou, etc. Take Himeka out of this (or at least fix her personality/voice) and you get a fantastic anime.

Overall, if you're like me and you've just finished watching Wedding Peach and Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, and are a huge Sailor Moon fan, but don't know what to watch, this is the anime for you.

Okay, so MMPPP is a great anime, if you like magical girl shoujo romance. You would like it if you watched Sailor Moon or Wedding Peach, but the romance isn't as pleasing. It's very easy to get angry with Kaito, who in my opinion treats Lucia (the main character, who is the Pink Pearl Princess and is Lucia the human) kind of meanly and gets mad if Lucia doesn't bring him a bento or bread that she made or whatever. After awhile, you grow to love him though, because you can see him and Lucia becoming more romantically involved.
The songs get boring after awhile. ... The best song, Legend of the Mermaid, isn't used for a long time, but it's great when they start singing it again. Caren has an AWFUL voice. The best voice is Lina/Rina, who is also a great character. She provides a lot of the comedic relief to the anime. Hanon can get very annoying: Her infatuation with Mitzsuki is very shallow, she seems to only like him because of his looks, and it's nothing like the romance between Katio and Lucia.
What I really liked about this anime is how the villains aren't like the Sailor Moon-type "Villain of the Day." It's always the same ones, the Dark Lovers, except when the very annoying, very lesbian Black Beauty Sisters appear (but the BBS actually have a pretty decent song). The forbidden romance between Yuri, a Dark Lover, and Hippo, Lucia's sort-of sidekick/protector, is really sweet. And actually, the Dark Lovers are funny most of the time. You don't just get the good guy's story, but also the bad guy's story in a way.
All in all, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch is a great anime, and I was very happy with it. I look forward to watching MMPPP Pure!

Possibly one of my favorite mangas ever. The best part about it is that they fight with words, and not meaningless magical powers with a bunch of fancy words. It really stresses inner-goodness, and believing in yourself, and having courage. Plus, the characters are beautifully gorgeous, especially the guys! I loved the romance, and I loved how Alice seems like the true underdog of the story, and ends up being on top. The plot is also really good, it's not your traditional plot and will keep you wondering what will happen next!

Best parts: When Chris shows up, because he is hilarious; anytime Alice and ... Kyo interact romantically; when Nyozeka makes any sort of comedic appearance (she's not so fun when she is serious); FREY!!!!

Worst parts: Mayura...she's a huge part of the story, but I really don't like her. Alice's devotion to her is kind of annoying, because Mayura just seems so full of herself. I also don't like when the story deals with her dad...it makes me sad and bored at the same time, somehow.

But all in all, it's great, and I would recommend it to anyone!!!!
