"Love does not know distances": this message has been exploited in many literary and cinematographic works. In the present case, it is not new in the works of Shinkai Makoto. It has been several weeks since I decided to watch Kimi no na wa, something that I do not regret and that made me want to grab my keyboard to tell you about it.
Kimi no na wa or Your Name tells us the story of two teenagers bound by their dreams. Mitsuha, living in a small village and coming from a traditional family, wants to go on the adventure of the huge urban jungle of
...
Tokyo while Taki, city dweller of the Japanese capital and lover of drawings, leads a normal life between high school And a little job in an Italian restaurant. The two make strange dreams in which they find themselves in the skin of the other and it is from there that their relationship will be woven, learning to know each other through the life that each one leads.
Their dreams are actually exchanges of bodies: Mitsuha is found in Taki's body and vice versa. However, as I progressed through the story, I became aware that I was far from imagining that the theme would be treated with such a dimension. Faithful to himself, Shinkai Makoto offers us a surprising and moving story, reinforced by its mystical character. I would not hide that I even had the little tear at the end.
Yet, the beginning of the plot is developed comically. We see the exchanges between the characters who try to adapt as well as possible to the phenomenon and to communicate to "set the rules of the game". The events are connected fast enough while the whole takes shape little by little. We see how they are going to manage this delicate situation, captivating enough not to wonder why there is this exchange. Like everyone else I guess, I would have had a heck of a lot of fun getting someone to borrow my body regularly especially if it's for exams in my place (unless it's better than me!). Is not that what we call trust?
Speaking of trust, it is through this first step that "forced marriage" is built between our two characters, the latter transforming into passion over time. Equipped with a good personality, their journey makes them charismatic thanks to a particularly interesting treatment. Beyond the only message of love, there is this whole question of intimacy because everyone has access to the whole life of the other and through their practical experience they are able to understand each other better than anyone else. There is a more human dimension given to this exchange that it would be possible to find in other stories where this one is most often seen as a constraint for the characters. But here it becomes a very useful tool and even more. It quickly turns into something bigger without it becoming exaggerated.
The supernatural is present and keeps all its mystery as it should. The idea is not to understand how but just to know the why of the phenomenon and some simple elements are given in order to satisfy our curiosity about the issue.
If love is irrational, the phenomenon that binds our protagonists is just as much. While they are unable to understand this strange force, they progress and struggle to stay together. It is so beautiful and so disturbing at the same time and thanks to this emerges an exciting scenario. Because of its construction, Kimi no na wa has a plot full of twists and turns.
Both joyful and moving, I find that this is what best characterizes my feelings on this film. So why would I say it in a complicated way if I can just say so?
The story makes you think and each one can interpret the plans and the stunning images of this film. They are meaningful either to amaze you or to move you. So there is no question of forcing you the message but more of you putting it at your free disposal and appreciating it in all its splendor.
A word comes to my mind on which I hardly see how you could contradict me: magnificent!

Nishimi Kaoru just joined a new school. He is used to move regularly but still feels uncomfortable. To fight against this stress, he found refuge on the school roof. This time, he will come up against Sentarō, the brawler feared by all the students. These two boys who appear to be of opposite character succeed in understanding each other and find common ground, especially through music.
We meet Kaoru. immediately, we understand what kind of boy he is. He is solitary, unsociable and even very stressed. He has the perfect profile to be excluded or bullied. moreover, he is of good family and had good grades.
...
So he will be cataloged from the first day. Then we discover Sentarō, he skips courses and never misses an opportunity to fight. Dynamic and jazz's passionate, Sentarō won my sympathy !!
These two characters have classic personalities. On one side, we have the good student, quiet and lonely. On the other, we have the great big guy, feisty but ultimately harmless. They seem diametrically opposed. Yet both are uncomfortable at school and both are passionate about music. Gradually they will come together, with the help of Ritsuko, the charming delegate of class. I enjoyed this rapprochement between these three characters. The enthusiasm of the girl and the feisty character of Sentarō will undoubtedly evolve Kaoru.
The animation is very good and gives the series its comic dimension.
Over the episodes, the budding friendship between Kaoru and Sentarō will evolve even if sometimes the romantic feelings they develop in parallel will interfere. A love triangle is created from the first episode between our three protagonists. Then, other characters enter the scene and are interfering in their relationship.
Besides romance, school life takes a significant place although it does serve as backdrops. The relationship with the other students are important because they can see how Kaoru managed to find his place in this school.
Music is also omnipresent. It allowed our two heroes to find each other and it will hold again this role several times in the series, especially in the final scene.
I rarely pay attention to the soundtrack of an anime. Nevertheless, in Kids on the slope, it is hard not to hear. This is obviously a lilting and causing jazz that accompanies every scene.
Kids on the Slope contains all the ingredients to make a series of quality: a compelling story, a successful animation, neat designs and lively music. Enjoy it, because it's free :-)

I always loved the horror genre (movies or TV series) so why not try Horror anime? That's what I did with Ghost Hunt. Verdict? I have absolutely no regrets. Ghost Hunt was able to satisfy my expectations.
Mai is a young orphan who loves shudder of fear listening to ghost stories told by her classmates. All that was normal, you might say, especially when considering his own youthful experiences. But now, there is a huge difference between imagine living something scary and really find yourself confronted overnight with strange phenomena that make you tremble. Yet this is what will happen to May the day when
...
she met Kazuya Shibuya (Naru) who, despite his young age, 17, appears to be at the head of the Shibuya Psychic Research, a specialized investigative office in solving paranormal mysteries. Forced to become his assistant, Mai, despite herself, became a privileged witness of a true ghost hunt.
First observation: the action is scarce. You almost never see frantic race or muscular fight between the ghost hunters and their prey. However, don't imagine for one second, on the pretext that there is no or little action, you get bored by watching this anime. Indeed, the strength of this anime lies primarily in its atmosphere I would describe it as oppressive. I still have in mind that doll head that the "camera" and the focus is expected at any time to see it move, it undoubtedly end up doing.
This constant tension is due to the OST. Never a music seemed to me too intrusive and disturbing than Ghost Hunt music. The realization and animation are also not left out and contribute significantly to immerse the viewers in a kind of perpetual anxiety.
In short, all that to say to fans of the genre that it will be cold sweats at the rendezvous. While the episodes progress, they will be even more numerous and more intense.
The only complaint we do to Ghost Hunt is that it seems unfinished. Too many questions remain unanswered at the end of the series.
Undeniably, a second season was planned. Too bad it didn't ultimately emerged. The most curious of you no longer have to jump on the scans of the original manga for more.
Despite this flaw, Ghost Hunt remains a great series to watch. Its horrific side is rather enjoyable and its humor helps us to breathe between two fears.

I already knew this one-shot for a long time, is also among the best rated on MyAnimeList, which is pretty impressive. I imagined that this success did not come from nowhere, but I never imagined having such a blow of heart!
Story:
This one-shot features two complex characters: Juri, a young woman who tried many times to end his days and Yuu, a young prisoner sentenced to death and trying, too, to commit suicide in his prison cell. It is through Juri's aunt, a nun, that these two people will meet and finally see life in a new light.
It's a really dark story, where you can meet
...
all the vices of society: murder, rape, prostitution ... These are not the elements I look for in my reading. And yet, I really loved this story, which contains all the hardships of life. I was impressed by how the mangaka plays with these difficult issues and how she manages to move us with. I was really touched by the delicacy and depth of storytelling that has never suffered from the usually frantic pace of one-shots.
Characters:
The two protagonists are extremely endearing:
Despite being very blasé and often disconnected from others, Juri is a woman that you will appreciate very fast, especially from the time it delivers the funds of her thoughts.
As for Yuu, I loved the way it was gradually revealed through his letters. His past, although very hard and difficult to read, gives us even more sympathy for the prisoner, who really has not had an easy life.
Arts:
Besides the sublime cover, the design is also sumptuous between pages.
enjoyment:
This story made me shed a few tears. The relationship between these two heroes makes the story more beautiful and amazing. How they will change both through the presence of the other is beautiful. I loved watching these changes that were really touching. Yet thirty minutes, every Thursday, this is the only time of meeting offered by the mangaka. But the interviews are really intense, pure bliss!
Overall:
Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan is a masterpiece of one-shot !
Upsetting, Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan is also cruelly realistic as beautiful and poetic. I can only recommend.

The only word that comes to my mind to describe this series is quite simply “Outstanding”. Far from the classic Shounen, it takes us into a "mature" atmosphere typically found in the Seinen, and which seduced me immediately.
First, the soundtrack: the two Openings made by Linked Horizon put us immediately in the war atmosphere with small Germanic touches, and are very pleasant to listen (especially the first one!), and both endings are also beautiful, and gives a calmer tone at the end of each episode, which underlines the drama of the series. In terms of the OST in general, nothing wrong either: everything fits perfectly
...
to situations, and makes us even deeper dive into the series.
Secondly, the graphics: It is simply amazing. It is a true pleasure for the eyes. Having read the Manga, I was afraid that the drawing of the anime is as bad as in this one, but I had a pleasant surprise. Moreover, one can appreciate the quality of the animation by watching scenes other than scenes of battles which are also very beautiful. Some in particular have literally cut my breath as some scenes of use of three-dimensional equipment in the city.
Third, the plot and characters: The three protagonists are very charismatic. Eren, with his leading character who, Mikasa, a kind of "big sister" who protects and seems to have a rather ambiguous love for his "brother", and Armin, the brain of the group.
I immediately liked the character of Mikasa who is very mature, and very endearing, Eren seemed to approach to the cliché of the stupid hero, but thank God, it moves away from the corner at the first episodes. Armin also seemed to be an annoying cliché of weak character who still be saved, but it turns out to be as useful as Mikasa throughout the series.
The secondary characters are also endearing, especially Levi Ackerman. What Can I say about this badass guy, He is just perfect!!
In terms of plot, we follow the hero in a post apocalyptic world that oscillates between the seventeenth and eighteenth for its technologies and in which humans were dominated by Titans against whom they are trying to raise. The mystery of the Titans keeps us in suspense until the end.
In conclusion, I can describe this anime with these three words: Epic, Legendary and Masterpiece! I really enjoyed watching and rewatching this anime.
I look forward to a great season two, hoping that it will be as great as the first season, to finish the story beautifully.

Toradora is an anime that please to some and not to others. For me it is like a recipe in which was placed known ingredients but with perfect amounts and a secret, making the dish much less common than expected. In short, not necessarily original, but good taste is present. Let me explain.
Characters:
Stereotypes are mostly found there.
The protagonist, Ryuuji, is this nice and shy guy, people avoid him because of his scary physics. He is secretly in love with a girl in his class, Minori, but never confessed. It is also, unfortunately, as often in the stories of this kind, soft. A little less than
...
average I would say, even if it leaves to walk on by Taiga, he is not stupid and it is quite endearing and funny with his side of housewife model.
Taiga is the tsundere. Small, aggressive, she is also in love but does not know how to confess. It may annoy some people, but behind his violent side, a strong will is hidden. She has evolved over the anime and she got really endearing to the end.
Taiga's best friend, Minori, is Ryuuji’s Secret love. She is the embodiment of good humour. You know the one who is always smiling even she is not in good condition. Her interventions are pretty funny in general and she is touching and not whingeing.
Well, I must talk about Kitamura, but to be honest, that's the one I like the least. Ryuuji's best friend, Taiga has a crush on him. He is always nice guy, hard worker, with glasses. I will not tarry longer because he gets on my nerves, it's a real kid.
Finally, Taiga’s childhood friend, Ami, top model, the nice and adorable with her"friends" but she is actually rather cold and calculating. She is probably the most mature of the five. She helps her friends while pretending not to care. She is important in the development of relations between the characters.
We also have a gaggle of pretty funny supporting characters (but not very developed) special mentions to the teacher and the parrot. You will understand by watching.
Graphics:
This is not the strong point of the anime. The scenery is simple and redundant, bright colours (it does not bother me at all for this kind of anime but others might not like it). The chara-design, you would think they had a budget for the main characters: half for Taiga, which is cute and the other half is divided roughly equally between Ryuuji, Minori and Ami, which are rather common but fun to watch.
In short, overall it is rather clean and fluid but not amazing.
Story:
There is really no scenario in this anime, we only follows the evolution of the characters. The beginning laid the foundation and their relationships, Taiga and Ryuuji who find themselves accomplices despite themselves. The first part is a pure comedy because we follow their wacky attempts to approach their crushes. We are witnessing really funny moments, some more sad. Then there is the part with Kitamura which is, in my opinion, the worst of the anime. I really do not understand why Taiga loves him ... Then, the Christmas part when Taiga starts to change, and she gets really interesting, you start to appreciate her more. Everyone tries to cope with his feelings in his way, and the end is still surprising on some points.
Music:
Music is a strong point. The Openings are great, the endings correspond very well to the changing feelings, OSTs perfectly accompanying the various scenes sad, happy ... Nothing else to say, I love it.
Overall, Toradora is a good slice of life anime that seems full of already-seen but the director was able to dose the ingredients to perfection: we find the right balance between comedy and romance, with passable graphics and very good soundtrack to address the whole.

I think this anime is a pure masterpiece, a huge pearl. It made me think and touched me along. The story is simply beautiful and superb.
I loved the plot which I found very original. I've never faced this kind of story and frankly, from the start, it makes me very excited. It's innovative, new and fresh. And frankly, it's nice to have a story like this one, which is not full of cliché and stupid stereotypes.
Without spoiler, and it based only on the anime, the story is well done and the protagonist’s evolution is progressive, we understand his reactions and at the same time we
...
put them into question. His view of life is changing, for better or worse. Some parasytes are even surprising. It follows the moments of everyday life of the hero in total opposition to the fight against parasytes. These creatures have different characteristics, including that of being able to remotely identify and recognize each other, which does not facilitate the task to blend into the crowd.
The topics discussed in this anime show current thinking and go in perfect harmony with environmental concerns. Moreover, the ecological side comes mainly from Migi. It is about the place of humans with respect to other animals, other species and the planet overall. Man isn’t itself the parasyte of this planet? This anime is supposed to bring us some answers.
Otherwise in terms of gore that is present in the fight scenes, it is true that there are sometimes a lot. But it is only used wisely and also causes several feelings in the viewers as terror or disgust. There is always action and we do not get bored for a second during his viewing.
Secondly, the graphics: I find them beautiful and really fun to watch. The colours are well used and are not garish; the proportions are very well respected. The physics of our hero (Shinichi) is very well done and it is quite realistic and not pushed or exaggerated.
Thirdly, the music: The opening and ending are very good, nice and well presented. Let's say the opening puts us right back in the bath and the ending finish on a sweet note for that we are recovering, slowly but surely, from our emotions.
Fourth, the characters in general. I liked the most of them, such as Shinichi who is charming and brave. It is the most developed character in the story, and I admire his reflections. I must admit however that his change of behaviour / personality is rather abrupt but pleasant because it simply proves that the story is in progress and his vision too. After he has become much more strong than before, this does not mean that he is no longer human, quite the contrary. Then our second hero (Migi), I admire his knowledge and supposed reflections. He is a character who can generate a lot of things at the audience, especially sympathy. Yes, I have sympathy, a sort of strange love for this little insignificant and ugly thing. Migi is attractive and surprising at the same time, and I must say that this is what makes him charming.
Overall, Parasyte is really a must-watch anime because in any case, you will not regret it. It is a masterpiece, you mustn’t skip it!

Not knowing where to start I would say Bungaku Aoi is a death Box!! Yes, because during these six stories, six of these classic Japanese, we are told the death from several views. I had almost never seen an anime in this genre, where despair is present from beginning to end!
No Longer Human (Ningen Shikkaku): The first story (4 episodes) depicts a tragic period in the life of the author Osamu Dasai. The drama and richness of the narrative is found between themes of suicide, loss of identity and search for humanity ... The title of the new exhibits in the implicit battle of a
...
man against himself. Needless to say that the registry is defeatist and no way out seems to be the general impression of the author on life itself.
In the Forest, Under Cherries in Full Bloom (Sakura no Mori no Mankai no Shita): The second story is spread over two episodes. The atmosphere changes, the colours are brighter, plots keep coming faster and it seems to fall into a series of adventure. The animation on it is much more traditional and it detaches from the realism of other tales. The story refers to a kind of folklore, myth or legend that would be similar to the interpretation of loneliness. This tale amused me most because it integrates skilfully combines drama and burlesque.
3. Kokoro: The third story also adopts the same format with another small feature. This means that the author will be positioned on two different points of views in relation to the sequence of events. He tells two different ways of facts through the eyes of two antagonistic characters. The themes of friendship, love and trust are treated. Again, the narrative is subtly done and creates the surprise in the viewer.
Run, Melos (Hashire, Melos!): If the title means anything to you or tells you absolutely nothing, it is an ancient Greek legend picked up by the Roman author Gaius Julius Hyginus(thank you Wikipedia!!). Why the choice of this tragedy? It’s to illustrate the trouble caused by the expectation in the eyes of the author through the themes of friendship and mutual trust.
The Spider’s Thread and Hell Screen : Eh! As have we done with this drama? No, but the last two are so related stories rich in colour and moral. We go in a totally imaginary, probably another world in which human cruelty take you to artistically project a vision of hell. I particularly enjoyed the last one, I would call it ... Sumptuous.
Overall:
That is my brief impressions on Aoi Bungaku Series: a series of four new literary authors who have marked Japanese literature and my mind too.
There is no fault that I can raise in this animation, simply astonishment. Whether through the realization of the different panoramas, the reproduction of the time details (including Showa 1926-1989), the atmosphere made by colours, design costumes, the transcript of this exchange between dream, the nightmare and reality, what is absolutely certain is that the quality of graphics absorbs the viewer and constantly seeking his attention. Each party, each story, I say absolutely every story has a great job. And the latest episodes have reached a paroxysm. A true artistic intelligence conducted on several levels and various sequences. The chara-design is very nice, the participation of manga artists who have worked on projects is famous for something. The characters are very charismatic.
Aoi Bungaku Series interests, it is because his stories are intriguing. It is not in the superficial extravagance and excess, everything is just conducted, often in a very relevant realism. Ultimately, I would have had a great time, my words may seem inseparable recurring and my impressions, but I don’t have enough words to qualify this great narrative and screenplay work. This Series allowed me to dream.
Even if I was totally conquered, there is no guarantee that this series can please everyone, so try it and judge it by yourself.

Japanese calligraphy is occupied by several young geniuses, masters and newcomers. Among them all, seishu Handa, a rising star of this closed world. He collects excellent prices and recognitions. So he has all, he is young, beautiful and talented. His problem? His arrogance and confidence. One day, when a gallery director criticize his work, Handa get excited and hit him violently in the face. The young man is forced to go into exile on a small island at the bottom of the deep Japanese countryside. This penance would have been for him a sort of spiritual retreat in order to give new artistic momentum. While
...
it is a regular in the town and cities, he landed in a place more quiet, deserted. It will be invaded by kids, and therefore will not even work quietly, relax a while. The neighbors arrive unexpectedly, his house is considered as a playground ... Impossible to work.
In super rhythmic episodes we will discover new characters and what Seishu Handa will do to accomplish his aims and create his identity in calligraphy.
My thoughts:
The bet is successful here, especially the design: the characters are beautiful and the scenery too, everything is colourful and gives an atmosphere of constant good humour.
on the other hand, the atmosphere can also have very dark moments during the sensei depressions. The dynamism of the anime is a strong point and the funny parts too. Naru has a very important role in the comedy of this anime because it is the driving force, almost the main character. Naru is a little girl of 7 years, it is still in the paws of the sensei with his friends in the area. It is early, eager to see them leave, then befriends with them and discovers the joys of country life. He, who has lived for calligraphy, discovers the outside world and relationships with people. He becomes indebted to the generosity of people and gladly accepts to render services to the people always with a touch of humour because the situations and Handa’s reactions are often inappropriate. So we have here a very valuable life lesson without being judgmental. The serious side is also well highlighted, including Sensei’s introspection about his behaviour, his life and his artistic future. The range of character is important and each person is someone who really gives a unique charm to this story.
Finally, the ancestral art which is calligraphy is brought here from very light manner but we understand that practitioners have a real philosophy of life. Through anime/manga, it always manages to discover something from Japanese folklore, here is calligraphy but this very original way of presenting things is exceptional and barakamon is a crush for me!

This anime prove that the anime and manga are an art in itself and can challenge all persons denying this fact. This anime is a masterpiece.
First, talking about the opening, it’s beautiful, the lyrics are beautiful, the instrument smashes, and what I liked the most in this opening is the metaphor linked to Canary : our 7 inmates compared to canaries in the series, here I can see is that even the bird emblem of the freedom of its wings from heaven, the free world to land on barbed wire, prison, detention, as our hero and eventually fly away and returns to the free world
...
that is the Sky, so yes this opening spoil the story but on predictable things.
This is the story of six prisoners, young prisoners, all jailed for stupid reasons, they can recall our Jean Val Jean (Hero of the miserable masterpiece of Victor Hugo), imprisoned for stealing bread, it's a bit like that for our protagonists.
These six young men, these six kids encounter in this reformer , their eldest and with him the prison violence provided by prison guards and all human faces, and together face adversity that it will come out, the friendship between men, that is all that remains to them and they therefore form any strong links especially around Anchan (Their oldest).
Besides the serious story, sad and full of injustices, as the past character I loved this universe all are important, even if their past painful it is participating in the construction of their personality, you need to know what feeling, or that we learn the ugly past of our favorite character and we're disgusted to him we would not have wanted him to live that but at the same time without this painful past it wouldn’t be our favorite character, and although there it is this feeling multiplied by seven, seven times this frustration is that you dove into the universe and that is the strong point of the series, the character development.
So this anime deserves a big 10/10 and even will deserve more. Personally, I would say it’s one of the best anime I've seen any category, it is so real and so human. It’s a great mix of emotion, struggle and drama. This anime will for sure make you cry (It made me cry several times, seriously get a Kleenex box if you watch it XD), so real, so earthly cruel, so true, so touching, so captivating that you mustn’t skip it.
