Personally, I really loved both these anime. While Kuuchuu Buranko focuses more on obsessive compulsive disorder and curing psychiatric patients that come into Irabu's psychiatric ward and Mind Game pays more attention to the fact that you should "live happily, whatever happens" I really loved the latter too. The art-style is also quite different from what you 'usually' see in anime, but if you can appreciate that quirkiness, it's all the more reason to start watching these productions. So, are you curious about how to achieve peace of mind? Here are two options for you to try out.

Both these short OVA are about love (or a strong connection) that has been built up between characters in a past life. The main characters are now -in this life- confronted with those feelings and all that revolves around it, be it friendship or love. These aren't soppy love stories, though, for both series are also about murder and it's up to the main characters to solve these bloody twists of fate.

Little Busters! Refrain
add

These two anime may have quite a different plot, but I felt the vibe they gave off to be the same. Aside from the vibe, I think both have a story that contains humor, (though Little Busters! has more humor in it than Little Busters: Refrain.) drama and a beautiful deeper meaning. Be sure to keep a box of tissues nearby, though, because you wouldn't be the first one to cry your eyes out.

Diabolik Lovers

Both these shoujo anime revolve around vampires and they obsessive love for the same girl. Both female protagonists are surrounded by the blood-thirsty boys and encounter them more than once. What annoys me about these anime is that the spineless female protagonists can't do anything but be quiet and obey. They don't really stand up against the beautiful vampires and just let them do as they please. That alone gives the anime a certain boring atmosphere, I think. Still, if you're into romantic vampire stories with a bit of sadism, these two will do just fine.

Teenage masterminds who try to carry out what they think is justice and who lose themselves in the process. Both Light and Lelouch struggle to make the world share their view, while fighting either a super detective or an entire nation. Will the masterminds succeed in justifying their extreme actions, or will they lose to insanity? Both anime are psychologically very interesting and the plans these two scheme will leave you mind-blown at times. Definitely worth watching!

In both these romantic shoujo anime, we will meet twelve boys representing the zodiac signs. Add one pure-hearted, innocent girl and we have a story. While both anime may not be very deep, -in my opinion- they are still quite enjoyable. Humor saves the otherwise bland stories and will have you keep on watching. Both may not be great anime, but they're fun to watch and isn't that what matters?

Fairy Tail

If you're looking for a anime you can get attached to, with characters to love, don't look any further. The worlds of Fairy Tail and Dragonball (Z) will take you on a journey where you will find yourself laughing, crying, or maybe both at the same time. Goku and Natsu have the same mentality and will do anything to protect the ones they love. Let them take you to their worlds, where struggles are there to overcome and where the words 'giving up' don't exist. You'll most likely come to love -or already love- both anime and their interesting characters.

Guilty Crown

What we need is a divided nation, a mysterious girl, a rebellion, a male who wants to change the world and some super powers. With these few elements we can create both Code Geass and Guilty Crown. The main story in these two anime is very similar: A boy meets a mysterious girl who gives him super powers and both of them join (or already have joined) a rebellion fighting against 'the system'. Add some fighting 'robots', guns and enough action to leave you wondering what will happen next and you have two very interesting anime. Enjoy!

How to deal with falling in love with a cold hearted novelist? Both main characters in these anime struggle with that very question. I think there are a lot of similarities between these shows when it comes to the plot, the characters and maybe even the kind of humor they use. These two comical, romantic, shounen-ai series are definitely worth watching if you're looking for a lighthearted, romantic story with a nice balance between the dramatic and comical moments.

Togainu no Chi

Imagine being falsely accused of committing a murder and having to serve a lifelong sentence in prison because of it. This happens to both Akira (Togainu no chi) and Ganta (Deadman Wonderland) and they both have a 'chance' to make the best of their sentences by fighting others in some sort of survival game. Even though Togainu no chi has a lot of shounen-ai elements that Deadman Wonderland doesn't have, I think these anime are similar when it comes to genre. (Both are action and sci-fi anime) In any case, you'll be seeing enough fights, blood and despair to last you for a while.

Pandora Hearts

These two anime take place in the Victorian Era and both follow the story of a young boy. Both Ciel (Kuroshitsuji) and Oz (Pandora Hearts) have been to hell and back and both seal a contract with a demon, whom from that moment on is (almost) always with them. While both plots may seem quite simple at first, there'll be a few twists to the story that will make it way more intriguing. In short: two action, supernatural and from time to time comical anime that are definitely worth watching!

If you're familiar with the horror-genre, you probably know that moving to a small town isn't really the recipe for a carefree life. Both protagonists find themselves surrounded by unknown enemies and it is their job to stop either the spreading of a 'virus' (Shiki) or to lift a curse (Another). Regardless which anime you choose to watch, there'll be enough deaths, blood and mystery to the story to leave you wondering what will happen next.

Steins;Gate

Looking for an anime to blow your mind away? With these two you really can't go wrong. Whether you're looking for an interesting story about time travel that turns darker towards the end (Stein's Gate), or you want to indulge yourself in horror and sadistic torture (Higurashi) that makes you want to keep your eyes open at night, you don't have to look any further. These anime are strong from start to finish and once you find out what's really going on, you'll be intrigued by how well both are put together.

Whether you're the son of the devil or a team of weapon and meister, in order to become better at what you do, you need to learn the basics at school. Both anime follow a group of students who attend one of many magic schools. Watch them learn about friendship, morals, strength and see them grow as they fight witches (Soul Eater), or even Satan himself. (Ao no Exorcist)

In the mood for a comical romance? With these two anime you'll be sure to get what you're looking for. With enough handsome guys, comedy, a little bit of action and reverse harem elements, I think a lot of girls will want to be the heroines themselves after watching these lovely shoujo anime.

Highschool of the Dead

Setting aside the fact that there is one main difference in these anime -high school of the dead revolves around zombies and in 11 eyes there has to be dealt with 'magical knights'- their setting has quite some similarities. In both these supernatural ecchi anime, a group of high school students gets isolated from the rest of town and they have to find a way to survive and escape.

Both are great psychological/horror movies directed by Satoshi Kon. The dark but realistic style Kon is known for really comes to show and it works great with both these interesting stories with include delusions, mystery and many exciting moments. Even though there are some differences between these two anime -ChaoS is more mystery and NHK is more comedy- both have also a few similarities. In both anime, the protagonist is a male hikikomori and both are of the psychological genre. Both Satou and Takumi have delusions and don't know how to cope with them. How they deal with their situations is interesting to see and I think both are nicely made shows.

These two anime could both be recommended if you're looking for something 'uplifting', 'light' and 'comical'. Both Kokoro Connect and Little Busters have a sense of mystery underneath the more obvious 'high school-plot'l and both will probably make you laugh, even if you're in a bad mood.

Both anime are about a Battle Royale where random people are chosen to kill each other. This is either to become the next God (Mirai Nikki), or to simply stay alive. (Btooom!) Both anime are very well put together and are interesting from start to finish. In any case there will be a lot of deaths, lots of exciting moments and blood will be flowing, no matter which of these anime you choose.
