Both series were adapted from classic swashbuckler novels (three musketeers vs Zorro). The heroes face the challenging schemes of the powerful villains (Cardinal Richelieu vs Commander Raymond). Both feature young sidekicks (Jean vs Bernard), blonde romantic interests (Constance vs Lolita), and god-tier horse mounts (Rosiante vs Viento).

Just Because!

The second original romance anime of this year, with central theme of using LINE (like the Japanese version of Whatsapp or Wechat mobile social networks). Up till now, Tsuki ga Kirei has better execution and character development in my opinion, but Just Because is more if not too dramatic in comparison.

They are both romantic comedies. The heroines are the managers of the dorms the guys live in, and they both have a past that they have to get over with. They both feature weirdos living under the same roof. Maison Ikkoku is more serious, while Mahoraba is usually more casual but can be quite dramatic at times.

Two early and popular works of Urasawa Naoki. The character designs are basically the same...They both feature heroines involved in sports and male character(s) playing important role supporting them. Yawara! is more about romance, while Happy! is more about life and the sport.

Yawara! is a romantic in disguise of a sports. (Trust me, there's not much excitement in the sports.) They are classic works of the 80s by two legendary authors. Both are slow romance that ran for 6 years in both real and manga time, and took the entire time for the romance to blossom in the end. They both involve love triangles.

RoV is the shoujo classic initially focusing on Queen Marie Antoinette the apparent titular character of this newer manga. The former is more of a romantic historical epic, while the latter is a serious period drama. If you would like to see more about the serious side of the history then read Marie Antoinette, and vice-versa.

Strongly second this recommendation. Both of the stories revolve around a bunch of unique characters living together. The primary focus of both series is family bond; in addition, Ai Yori Aoshi has an equal focus on romance. They both have very heartwarming stories about people parting ways and reuniting. In general, both are very relaxed. Ai Yori Aoshi has some serious drama from time to time but also has a lot of harem and ecchi; in comparison, Mahoraba is more comedic.

Your standard (supporting) harem shounen romantic comedy... and a lot of dragging... Both involve girl(s) related to MCs' past and forgotten memories. I like the main plot of open sesame better, but its dragging is absolutely terrible, even compared to Nisekoi.

Stories written by the same author. The MCs both had very tough upbringings, while both female leads are from rich families. A lot of drama comes from the tension between disparity of their backgrounds (although in Ai to Makoto, the girl was in love from the beginning). As the story progresses they grew to understand the MCs' fighting spirits. In Ashita no Joe there's only a hint of romance; if you few unsatisfied, you should probably read Ai to Makoto.

Both are old boxing manga, with Ashita no Joe being an older legend. One Pound Gospel is more lighthearted; Ashita no Joe is more serious. Nevertheless, they both contain a lot of drama featuring very strong boxers who love the sport struggle with things that affect their careers. In addition, the main female leads, originally very distant from the world of boxing, found themselves gradually attracted...

Maison Ikkoku

I second this recommendation. For those Maison Ikkoku fans, don't be fooled by the appearance of Yawara!, it is actually more of a romance drama than sports. Judo is mainly used to drive the plot forward, but Judo competition itself is never a focus of the story. Both series involve seinen romance (the later part of Yawara!) between multiple people and there are multiple love triangles. More importantly, there are lots of difficulties involved in the primary romance; thus, it took the entirety of both series for the romance to blossom in the grand finale (7 years in the settings of the original mangas). (PS: for Yawara! you even have to watch the movie for that to happen).

Both show are very casual romantic drama involving the relationships among a group of friends (although Ai Yori Aoshi gets serious in some episodes, and even more so in the later unadapted parts of the original manga). In addition, we know that the childhood friends pair is winning from the very first episode, and both of the pairs are very sweet and get even sweeter as the series progresses.
