Dungeon Meshi. Score is a 10 and only because it can't go higher, so don't miss it! By the way this is gonna be more of a praise for this manga's strong points rather than a summary (you did read the synopis, right?).
I want to make it clear that, even though you might have heard that this is a cooking manga (not exactly wrong), it's not a gimmick manga. There is a lot of cooking but it's not the main thing you have to look forward to. Unless you are into that; the food looks really good and people enjoy different things after all.
...
My point is that the story is top notch. It starts off nice and promising and only gets better as it delves deeper. The tier one world building, plot that keeps on giving and characters to match make it difficult not to read it through to the end. The amount of work put into the story is wild.
The characters are all well designed, well written and have great dynamics between each other. It's really hard not to love their interactions. The monsters are also very well thought out, ranging between cool, interesting and terrifying. Very easy to see the author's passion in the designs and art.
There are some chapters in which the creator talks about her designs with illustrations and these are always a joy.
No conventional fan service, which can be good or bad depending on you.
(And i say conventional because in my opinion this story in itself is a service to all fans)
It's also very funny, the characters very much complement each other causing hilarity to ensue.
Concluding, if you are looking for a nice adventure into an unknown world of magic, monsters and delicious food (said monsters), please read this manga, i love it and i think you might too!!!!
