Romance anime nowadays tend to use school life as a setting. In fact, every season, we'd almost expect at least one romance show set in a school setting. This kind of plot, usually referred to as your "Daily Dose of Diabetes," is good and fun to watch, but doesn't really do anything spectacular to make you want to rate the show higher than a 7. It is not the case on "The Dangers in My Heart" though, as it is really evident that this show did something that other similar shows didn't try to innovate as much as this show did.

The "harem" genre has often been viewed negatively in the anime community as a whole. Most of the time, whenever there's a new show that is tagged with harem, watchers ignore it, and in result, it gets underappreciated despite their potential to actually do better than what people think it would be (atleast some harem). Unfortunately, this is also the case on "Giji Harem", as the title suggests that it is a harem, when it is actually not.
