Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor 2 the Movie

Both Patlabor 2 and Gasaraki are quite tonally and thematically similar. Both are realistically grounded mecha shows that explore notions surrounding the integration of mecha into the JSDF. In addition, both shows portray mecha combat fairly realistically and plausibly. Plot-wise, the two depict frightening actualisations of martial law and nationalist groups that seek to restructure and re-establish political and social power throughout Japan. Both, enveloped in a dense, socio-political climate of civil unrest and political quagmire. Those who enjoy tales of domestic terrorism, grandiose ideology, political thriller or giant robots, in general, will surely find one of these two shows refreshing and intellectually stimulating.

Seirei no Moribito

Shadow Skill and Seirei no Moribito are stories that both revolve around strong, pragmatic female leads in platonic, foster-maternal relationships with a younger male character, focusing on the journies and experiences shared between them. Both are medieval/fantasy-esque shows, roughly set in the same time period. However, whereas Shadow Skill seems to be situated in a more south-eastern European setting, Seirei no Moribito is set in a pseudo-historical central Asia, so the general "feel" of each show differs depending on what narrative elements capture your interest more. Seirei no Moribito is a much stronger series, boasting impeccable, jaw-dropping art and industry-leading character animation, so by comparison, Shadow Skill doesn't really stack up, so its more subtle, thematic ties are what draw the similarities with Moribito—the character relationships and the dynamics of both their main casts. So if you liked that aspect of Moribito, you're sure to somewhat like what Shadow Skill has to offer. Just keep in mind that the visual fidelity and overall quality of Shadow Skill is far inferior to Moribito, and that's despite being an OVA. Though, that being said, you won't find much anime better than Seirei no Moribito anyhow.
