A highly acclaimed classic that every anime fan should watch. Or so I've been told. Turns out its but another addition to the row of incredibly mediocre shows that birthed an audience of the most pretentious wannabe intellectuals known to man. "You just dont understand it bro, it's too deep for you". "You need to watch it a couple of times to get it". "Dude it's art".
Atmosphere is great, it made me sit through the first couple of episodes on its own. But at some point atmosphere alone can't carry an entire show. I've watched 8 out of 13 episodes and the "story" hasn't gone

High budget but....nothing else.
Story, worldbuilding, characters, lore dropping, comedy scenes all thrown together into an incredibly incohesive mix. Characters actions and reactions to events make no sense. Music, Animation, Sound Effects, Voice Acting and Art Style are all top tier but what is this story? Nothing makes sense, the things that are explained are incredibly boring and dont actually explain much because it immediately cuts to another scene where something seemingly unrelated happens. It's a shame that not more people are watching this. It's such an underrated and slept on show.
Close to if not same level fight animation & coreography as One Punch Man Season 1 or Eminence in Shadow. The story and characters might not be as interesting to some people but just going by the fight scenes alone it's so worth watching. I feel like if this had a Japanese Voice Over it would be incredibly popular. You can't just take any art style and slap it onto Star Wars, it doesnt work like that. About half of the episodes look like Anime made for children. Very questionable voice actor choices in some episodes aswell. Grandpa voice on a 45yo man doesnt fit. One episode isnt enough to tell a very intriguing story or flesh out characters so filling it with 90% dialogue isnt exactly a good way of making it entertaining. Some characters react completely illogical which doesnt help.

This show revolves around MC not being aware of how insanely strong he has gotten after dedicating years of hard training to perfecting the basic skills he has.
Every episode is spent around "misunderstandings" that go like this: - MC does insane stuff - Everyone is in awe at MC doing insane stuff - Everyone tells MC hes doing insane stuff - MC denies reality insisting that he is weak Rinse and repeat. The comedy isnt funny, the action is bland, the writing is terrible (a full missile barrage from a helicopter doesnt leave a scratch on the monster but a rifle sized gun thats light enough to be carried by a small woman one shots it) and the characters are not only your standard run of the mill arch types but they got that extra obnoxious spice: Classic Tsundere Loli, blank slate MC, cold and unfriendly seeming female childhood (friend? Good art, good animation, nice fights.
Meh story (not bad, not good) Horrible pacing, obnoxious cuts right before and/or in between fights and exciting moments. Dont go into this show expecting elaborate world building and an intriguing story. It's a power fantasy isekai(ish) with the usual weak MC gets OP. Which is fine if that's what you're looking for. It certainly entertained me. My main gripe are the insanely annoying cuts to random characters yapping about some pseudo philosophical bs or lore dumps for world building to milk the tension before fights or straight up interrupt it like an ad break. Trashy isekai with the most busted MC to ever exist.
It fully leans into the most played out tropes and archetypes. The best thing about this show for me was that you really never know what kind of randomness awaits. Nothing makes sense, it's incohesive and chaotic. No matter how much anime you've watched you'll have a hard time guessing what kind of ridiculous thing is going to happen next. This show is supposed to be about intellect, foresight, manipulation, scheming, human nature and various other philosophical topics. Which is why it's plot holes, absurd writing and lack of logic in both the characters and world are quite the opposite of what you'd expect. Why are adults in high school? Let alone body builders thrice the size of a normal human? Started watching this season immediately after finishing the first one to see if the things that annoyed me in the previous season changed. They didnt.
