This anime is the very definition of a satire meta, it’s kind of like what Eminence in Shadow set out to be in that sense. It’s a very intentionally over the top, which in combination with the isekai element, makes the anime bizarre; Red’s interactions with the isekai characters are comical and make the anime entertaining and worth watch despite it being an isekai in an massive ocean of Isekai.

This anime is… terrible. I’ve watched anime where the MC needs to overcome their self-perceived inferiority or work up the courage to progress a romance, a good example is something like “Real Girl/3d Kanojo”, but this is atrocious; the MC hasn’t progressed even a tiny bit towards personal improvement or making relationship progress, he just mopes about himself at every possible turn, and every opportunity he gets to make progress with Mie, he cowers away; it’s hard to tell if he even likes Mie or just worships her as a sort of “cute icon”. Great adaptation of the Manhwa; some might judge it as “another isekai romance”, but this is THE isekai romance, a classic of the genre. Like how Mushoku Tensei is for isekai manga, this is for isekai romance. It’s got a good mystery subplot that only gets better as it goes on, the anime only touches on a part of the climax. Hope this anime gets fully adapted, like it deserves; props to the studio, the animation style and plot is loyal to the manhwa. Highly recommended for anyone with even a tinge of interest in the romance, isekai, and/or mystery genres.
