First things first. If you haven't watched this, Don't read any reviews, don't read the synopsis, don't read the genre tags. Don't read any more of this review. Just watch it! At least the first episode. Twice. Now! BEGONE! No questions, go just watch it!
OK!
...Are they gone? Ok.
Story:
I was hooked after episode one. Weren't we all? It's not my typical anime, at. all! But I couldn't not watch it. Even when I got a bit freaked out by the library scene in episode 2. Usually I can guess the twists and turns but maybe since I was so scared out of my wits, I
...
couldn't. Cleverly written. Top notch. It's given me a new appreciation for more darker animes.
(Even in spite of the one thing that happens later which makes me hate any film, book or series.)
Art:
Really cute and simplistic, though you could tell the animators are talented artists, lots of little subtitles.
Sound:
Love the theme song, so upbeat. Just like Yuki, I think the opening she'd want to have, Cute VA's.
Characters:
Really play well off each other, the perfect example of a gang.
Enjoyment/Overall:
Wow. Definitely become one of my favorites. I'd rewatch if I wasn;t a ridiculously jumpy person. Can't wait for a second season though the mind boggles how they'd follow it up on par with the first season.

I began really liking this anime, and was ready to give it a big ol' ten, alas...
I feel I may give away SOME of the story line so read at your own risk.
(Yes it's true, I don't doubt for a second Inuyasha is based off this, so I thought this could be the stronger of the two and I think initially it really seemed that way.)
Story:
Later in the series I realised something so forgive me for getting a bit spoilery but, the girls are under the constant threat of rape, that really started to grate.
Another pattern which was a common theme is
...
that the couple kept getting separated for no good reason, which was true of another anime released around that time and as a fan of romance it drove me crazy. I feel if less time was focused on them running away from each other focus could've gone on what I think would've made this series stronger. Parts of the story did use the rinse/repeat method so we see our heroes make the same mistakes and it gets pretty frustrating to watch.
Also a point I found lacked lustre is one of the main sevens power seemed like a good plot device to aid the gang. Only so little of them was seen that it came increasingly apparent this was not an option.
I really thought as we were little by little introduced to the rest of the seven they'd become a merry gang, using their special powers as if they were a tag-team, for me I'd have found this more enjoyable, but it was not to be.
Again closer to the ending of the series the heroes are faced with great peril and unless I missed something, despite the threat having the upper hand just seemed to go 'meh' and leave them be. Some other little things around that time aren't explained very well.
Art:
Pretty good, no complaints.
Sound:
Great theme song. VAs were good. One in particular must of been the inspiration for aforementioned anime.
Character:
Eh...
So they're the band of seven...only about two of them are given next to zero screen time after their introductions and another increasingly less. I thought this would be remedied later in the series after some circumstances, but not so. One in particular just ends up being sort of there.
I also found it odd that initially Miaka seemed pretty spunky and seemed a physical match against the average joes who attacked her. Only, increasingly she became the damsel in distress, so for me she lost her appeal. Though she did show her strength in other ways.
The main villains motives were only explained in the last few episodes so in one way it really turned things on their head, in another, for the most part they seemed really one dimensional.
The characters we did see more of were really loveable and a joy to watch. You're made to really care about those characters and that's what made this series so compelling, in spite of everything.
Enjoyment/Overall: By all means it wasn't all bad and I'm glad I stuck it out as I did consider dropping it. Though I realise I haven't sold it well... I enjoyed the ending enough that I may grudgingly watch the OVA's.

Story:
The previous series felt like a mad rush to lead up to this one, so this is slightly more mellowed out. Which I found good as since there was a little too much going on with the last series, there were some lose ends. Generally though the story is pretty tantalising and although it is mellower, it's all in a bid to the one penultimate moment, so for me it's forgiveable. I've read others complained of the pacing though for me it's not an issue as we're divulged into more character development. Though I found some aspects of the ending rather confusing, some of
...
it just seemed to be a convenient plot device without rhyme or reason. I'll put it simply, and without spoilers as much as I can with one word; weapons.
Art:
Just fine, beautiful. But lacking in fluidity of movement and expressions in characters. I appreciate a more artistic approach to some scenes. And given the Animators talent, I felt this could've been a possibility.
Sound:
Intro the same as last season but different ending song, very creepy still though, rather nice. I would've liked more expression of tension from some of the V.As.
Character:
We're taken more into the stories of the previously ignored characters, which I found enjoyable, Headmaster still provides comic relief. And some is still maintained by Yuki and Hanabusa. The plot thickens and we're provided with some interesting stories.
As I said for my review for the previous series. I wanted to enjoy it more than I did but unfortunately I was dissatisfied with some aspects. But there was still enough to keep me going to continue watching the series and keep me interested.
SPOILERS: show less now.
I found it rather confusing, Zero's imminent depravity into Level E is somehow forgotten? As he makes a promise to Yuki in the last episode and I'm thinking, but won't he be dead soon? Perhaps it was subdued by the blow she delivered, but I cannot fathom it. It wasn't clear to me. Perhaps I missed something or it was lost in translation.
I'm also baffled by the Association President thirst for blood despite being human. And then shattering like glass?
Perhaps I'll find my answers in the Manga...

Story:
Pretty good overall, I wanted to like it much more than I did but there were some minor failings, (to not spoil too much I'll write once I've reviewed the title in it's full so will be at the very bottom) A lot of mystery and questions. So much so that it overshadows some of the characters and they do not get equal screen time, so they're just kind of there. Though since it was minor it was fairly easy to ignore in the thick of it, but did take away from my score.
Despite the creepy feel it fortunately wasn't too gory at
...
all. Some blood but not copious amounts. We're faced with some really tense moments which kept me hooked.
Knew how to change pace, when one story was too heavy going, the writers knew when to switch it up to keep it fresh and interesting,
Art:
Rather good. Though in some ways I feel it could've been better, They move rather stiff like marionettes and the expressions sometimes don't suit the emotions that are meant to be conveyed in certain situations but generally beautiful.
Sound:
Intro/ending songs pretty good. Catchy, It'll be unlikely forget them, suits the tone of the series. VA's good but sometimes could've been better, but definitely not the worst VA's.
Character:
Pretty good. The headmaster serves as our primary source of comic relief amongst a very serious cast. Some are a bit underdelvoped given the time but this is somewhat remedied in '...Guilty'
Kinda spoilery? I'll still try to remain as vague as I can but you might want to click 'show less' now.
What I found to be quite odd is that Yuki is faced with a Dilemma later in the series. Something which she couldn't have been able to do, Yet we are not indulged in what she thought of this. When faced with the request I thought 'whoa!! what's she gonna do about this?!' turns out not much at all...and it's shrugged off in a matter of seconds despite the difficult situation it put her in.
Another instance which confused me was she had a flashback Yuki had of Kaname doing something she thought he'd never do. It was not clear to me if it was a fellow night class student, who had just been talking about something similar. Or an innocent person. Neither one we're indulged to find out which. And it's left there and not mentioned again.

I found out about this anime through an AMV on YouTube (search 'Princess Tutu Hold me now'. ) Which piqued my interest.
I dropped/put this on hold twice. Initially I didn't like it, it felt babyish and Neko-Sensei confused me. I picked it up again but then dropped it, I think mostly because the sadistic best friend drove me barmy. Still does.
Then when I started to actually enjoy Anime again some years later, I decided to give this another go and I'm glad I did. *By no means judge this book by it's cover.* I know many have misjudged this based on it's first-glance-package, as have
...
I.
Story:
Oh how I wish I could gush about how I came to like it, but I shan't spoil it for you. I'll only say, for me at least, it's the most original story I've come across yet. Amazing that it all occurred in 26 episodes because it didn't feel rushed at all. (not sure why this page says 38) Genuinely funny in some instances, all the while we're indulged in the story's mystery. Series 2 is where the story really comes into it's own. Though since it's under the same title you'll most likely find it as the 26 episodes.
Art:
Really cute character design. Charming colour pallet, our protagonist really stands out from the crowd and background. Ace animation, fluid and could find no flaws. Though it is generally not a complex style, it's obvious the animators are talented artists.
Sound:
To be honest, I didn't care too much for the intro song but there's nothing wrong with it. .Generally really suits the overlying atmosphere of the series.
VA's are delightful and suited their characters well, definitely hear the emotion in their voices. I really love the way Ahiru's VA pronounces 'Fakir'.
Characters:
Despite previously having said I disliked the sadistic friend, she played well off the other and maintained a yin and yang between the two. And in this way we feel more sympathetic for Ahiru. Altogether they get into some funny predicaments which is great comedy. And I even made my peace with Neko-Sensei too. All main characters are given solid back stories so you fall in love with them all the more.
Enjoyment/Overall:
So to re-iterate, give this a chance despite its looks as I guarantee it's not as froofy as it seems, particuarly if this is not something you'd typically go for. Really stands on its own as a great title.

I generally avoided any of the others within the Tenchiverse that didn't involve the core gang. So I was pleased to find this existed only, the series took a complete 360.
Yes, we're used to rewrites of the story, it was jarring at first but then you just roll with the punches and found it wasn't too bad, This is somethin' else.
Any of the previous Tenchi series occasionally skims on the ecchi side at some points were enjoyable and added to the comedy of the situations. Only, the first thing we see is an up skirt panty shot and an awkward landing. Which sets the
...
tone for the rest of the series. That said, I gave up early on so I wouldn't know just how much it progressed. But the nudity just didn't make sense. It was just for the sake of it.
Boring.
And since they were all young girls it felt awkward.
I resent the redesigns. A refresher may have been in order but they feel too unlike their original design. But generally the artwork is fine.
And given I dropped it a few episodes in we did not see much of the original gang. But that was more or less a given, since most of the promo artwork barely features them.
Others might like it but it's not for me.

Not to give away too much of the story but Tenchi does a certain thing some would consider to be way out of character a few minutes into the movie.
Also a confused, controlled under-age MINOR sexually solicits her father figure. What the actual ****! I'm sure there were about a million other ways to go about achieving her masters goal than that.
Yeah the Tenchi Muyo series has always been on the sexy side and grouping a bunch of crazy weirdos together....but....
If I could give 0/10 I would. If I could have only unwatched it. I held out hope that it would have some redeeming
...
feature. And maybe it does but watching a brain washed minor conduct incest was pretty unredeeming feature.

The best anime I've seen, to date.
Story: Solid.
We're taken along for the ride with this loveable gangs adventure. We laugh and cry with them. As with almost every episode we learn something new about the team and are indulged deeper into their lives.
Art: Great!
I give an anime little time if I can't stand the art style. As with most great Anime's, the art just got better. Initially, I didn't like how Inuyasha's and Kagome's hair was drawn and thought Inuyasha's outfit (which is actually made fun of by the other characters) was horribly garish but after falling in love with this anime
...
I came to like it all.
Sound: Good.
Theme songs catchy but not ones to add to my all time favourites. Inuyasha's VA is perfection.
Characters:
You really fall in love with all of them and I think even the supporting cast are given worthy back stories and thus their developments were really interesting. There was not one character I could say had a weak/uninteresting story.
Enjoyment/Overall: Amazing.
Give it a go.

This is oft' suggested with Sailor Moon. So naturally as a die-hard Sailor Moon fan, I had to watch it.
The first 10 episodes I found to be kind of a bore, yet interesting enough to keep me hooked. I was wondering why on earth anyone would suggest this for Sailor Moon fans. Yes, it's magical girl but it's target audience is a little younger than the Sailor Moon crowd...Only from Episodes 11-12 it got good.
It becomes rather more serious than a whimsical kids magical girl anime. My attitude went from 'oh man! there's 52 episodes of this!' to 'Oh my god! there's only
...
13 episodes left! why?!'
Story: Starts out pretty generic but I feel as it progresses it really starts to hold its own as it introduces some complexities later on, though I'd have liked to seen more time gone into these aspects.
Art: Pretty good. I especially liked episodes 26/27 I think, some extra effort went into those episodes. Love Quiche's character design.
Sound: Didn't like the songs at first but they're dead catchy and actually pretty good. 'IT'S SHOW TIME!'
Ace V.A's
Characters: All pretty good. I feel one of the main guys faded into the background once the other took the limelight and so he was just kinda there. And one of the main team of girls I didn't like. Not entirely sure why but I just didn't care for her. Other than that all pretty good and their personalties really grow together once they're a team.
So if you're going to give this a go, reserve judgement for a while.
