This is my first review here after a while of being part of MAL. I cannot say that I'm an anime expert; my repertoire is quite small compared to other people I've seen here. But, it felt right to honour Space Dandy with a review. This review includes both seasons of the show, so I'll not be just talking about season 2. And, although there's not so much of a story, as the show focused in an episodic scheme and most of them have little to do with what happened in the previous one, if I had to describe Space Dandy with just one word,
...
the only one that comes to my mind is "unique", and I believe that that's the only word that can actually describe it. Each episode is almost completely different from the previous one (because they all have Dandy, QT and Meow as their main characters, of course), showing a distinct art style and musical choices. However, I must say that, despite the episodic choice, the show does follow a certain plot thread that keeps going along both seasons.
Follow Dandy and the crew of the Aloha-oe as they travel through the universe in search for rare aliens so they can register them and spend all their cash in Boobies (a sort of space Hooters). I must be honest, what brought me here was the promise of beautifully animated 2D boobies and butts (who doesn't love them, right?), but I found so much more (don't worry, there are still boobies every now and then!). Stories usually go from wacky, ridiculous to heartwarming (and, considering that this show is supposed to be comedy, they are much more appreciated).
In case I haven't convinced you yet, this show was made by Shinchiro Watanabe (Remember Cowboy Bebop? Maybe Samurai Champloo?) and animated by the same studio (Bones) that animated previous Watanabe animes.
If you're still reluctant to watch it, I strongly suggest you to give it a try nonetheless. I know I did and it was one of the best choices I've made.

PS: Have I mentioned that "X Jigen e Youkoso", the show's ending song, is one of the most beautiful songs that I've ever listened to?
