One key difference, however, is that Gundam 00 places more emphasis on showing the development of science fiction technology and its implications, especially those related to the concept of GN particles, while Code Geass R2 introduces a number of new mecha but doesn't really give much attention to the technological explanations. Another distinction concerns how much of Code Geass focuses on the picaresque adventures of a lone hero who constantly uses over-the-top tricks against his foes, given that the story is predominantly told from Lelouch's perspective, which contrasts with how Gundam 00 places more emphasis on the collective actions of the core members of Celestial Being as a unit rather than on Setsuna himself.
