Makoto Yukimura is to Arnheid, what Gege Akutami is to Gojo Satoru........
This show was amazing. Ill admit S2 starts of a bit slower, but the payoff in the ending is completely worth it. Plus, this season introduced my favourite character as well, Arnheid. Her conviction, determination, kindness were all supremely inspiring to see and brought back more pure feelings. Engrossing yourself into the story is also extremely easy as the story ramps up towards the end but maintains
-------------SPOILER ALERT REVIEW-------------------------------------
SPOILERS AHEAD (COME BACK AFTER WATCHING THIS MASTERPIECE) Makoto Yukimura is to Arnheid, what Gege Akutami is to Gojo Satoru. Screw arrows, screw vikings

... Arnheids biggest enemy was the Author. Like damn, please just give me an official spin off where Arnheid gets a good-ish ending (ie. Gardar and her manage to escape and live with Thorfinn happily ever after with their kids. All you have to do is not let Gardar get killed, and reunite sucessfully, and the rest of the pieces will fall into place).
Originally I was planning to give the show 2 stars for killing Arnheid, but I cant even lie, the story made me feel for her character and adore her final moments too. In fact she is undoubtedly one of the best female characters in anime, showing, selflessnes, undying conviction and determination beyond anyone else. Her character in the story brought back some feelings similar to when I had first watched anime.
The conclusion too was amazing, although i would have liked to see Canutes transformation a bit more gradually (same with the Thorfinns familys reaction to his story. It would have been better if we had seen more of their reactions directly).
