When I read romance I prefer more of a build-up everything in this felt like it happened so quickly. This story offered nothing new to romance and I didn't really get into it expecting a whirlwind story. but when a story is so basic I expect it to be done well. The characters are very one-note; I've seen side characters with stories that fall into these same clichés with more interesting than the main characters. I loved this anime, and not for its romance! Don't get me wrong the romantic aspect of this anime is amazing, and feels a lot more natural in comparison to its anime counterparts. Though I find the male lead to be a little boring, he isn't a douche, and he genuinely seems like a nice guy girls would swoon over.
I find friendships to be at the heart of why I love it! If this anime only dedicated just a few moments to Sawako, Chizuru, and Ayane I would find it boring, but it doesn't. I find the dynamic between them an integral part that ...

Something About Us is a Manhwa I come back to often due to my inability to find a romance quite like it. The story plays out more realistically than most romances, yet still has a happy ending. All the characters are unique in their own way, though none of the characters are over exaggerated and are defiantly people you'd meet in real life, especially the flawed characters. I really wanted to Love this anime due to its thriving fanbase, though I just couldn't.
Praises: Of course the animation is beautiful as MAPPAs animation typically, it brings an interesting bunch of characters that aren't your typical hero architype which makes the story more interesting. Complaints It's the horny humor of chainsaw man that causes me to not like it. I did find humor in the little one-liners that were said throughout the episodes, but the scenes such as Denji groping powers boobs, or the whole kissing Himeno thing just felt like an unfunny and drawn out bit, these scenes just left me unamused.
