There was only one thing I can say after finishing this anime.
"What a waste of my time."
Recommended for people who want historical facts about Shinsengumi.
If you came looking to watch an anime about monsters, damsels in distress and valiant warriors. You've found the right anime. If you came looking for a anime documentary on Shinsengumi and Hijikata (pretty close to it), this is almost the right anime for you.
But you'll not get anything beyond that. It tried to hard to be too many things and in the end failed to accomplish much. It had monsters with little focus on them, it had damsels in distress
...
that was damsels in distress with a very weak character development (actually I can barely tell if there was any) and couldn't do anything but get into trouble and be a burden to everyone.
I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be a story on Shinsengumi or Hijikata or the girl. There was not much of a build up, definitely no climax and a terrible end (this is actually debatable, because I thought the end was the only good thing about it).

Yukikaze is a breathtaking piece of work. At a glance it is unarguably about air battles, but don't mistake it for another 'Last Exile'.
It is a mature work that requires a lot of effort in order to appreciate. The plot is complex and spirals in a maze that makes it hard to differentiate which is reality and dreams. Though it can be hard to decipher, it corresponds to the complexity of both Yukikaze's and Rei's personality. The developing personality of Yukikaze and the repression of Rei's is fascinating and intriguing. Along with the frustration as an audience of the incomprehensible actions of Yukikaze and
...
Rei resounds in Jack, who is Rei's commander and seemingly his only friend, it weaves an intricate story. Rei's inner struggle as he drifts between humans and Yukikaze is the feature of this show. Minus point for some plot-holes, but it otherwise leaves you gripping your seat through the battles and the winding plot gives a bittersweet taste at the end.
The seamlessly woven cg and traditional artwork into the blend of raging air battle is absolutely heart-stopping. The sheer amount of detail is extraordinary and does justice to the story. The art direction emphasises the plots and the feelings of both pilot and plane, a feeling of isolation, alienation and occasionally frustration.
This is not an anime to be missed for both lovers and haters of this genre. The time spent watching this was well-spent and most definitely unforgettable.

To describe the experience of watching Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 in words would not do this series justice. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 is to this date, the best anime I've watched hands down. Personally extremely strict with my ratings and to rate an anime series 8 and above is rare. Tokyo Magnitude does not betray any great expectations that I had when starting this series.
It leaves raw emotions bringing the audience to experience the feelings of the character, treating the audience to a roller coaster ride of emotions. It is an indescribable feeling and to try to put the experience of watching Tokyo
...
Magnitude would understate it.
A truly inexpressible experience. A series you cannot miss. And I really mean it.

Overall 8/10
----
Higashi no Eden is a fabulous series that breaks out of the typical anime flair. The plot captivates you making you want more and more. I enjoyed it tremendously, the plot which it situated was close to the era I live in helped to build a sense of familiarity to it and I was able to relate well to the problems and complains that the characters voiced out in this series. Highly recommended for people who enjoy a little more thinking in their anime.
Story 10/10
------
The plot is gripping and makes you wonder who is the real one behind everything.
...
Nothing is too small a detail for Higashi no Eden. Unlike some animes that may feel paper and the escape feels too convenient, Higashi no Eden's plot is too well written to feel that way. It leaves you wondering whether such things may possibly happen. It starts off running at full speed with its perfectly timed little comical breaks when things get too tense. This anime has nothing to compare to it for it started off as an anime. There is no disappointment that the anime was not able to live up to the manga version. It is not fantasy and neither is it too sci-fi, as it is close to the era that I lives in, I was able to relate easily to the things they mention in the anime.
Art 8/10
----
The drawing style is typical and nothing to boost. It is drawing in a little comical style that suits well to the plot and their comical moments.
Sound 9/10
----
In all honesty, Higashi no Eden's soundtrack was what drew me to watch it. Not that I was a big fan of Oasis (who sang the cover song for Higashi no Eden), but many good animes have a good soundtrack. Higashi no Eden is no exceptional to the this.
Character 6/10
----
Character development was stark in this anime. The characters generally do not evolve with the anime and mostly stay as it is when it first appears. Despite this, Higashi no Eden did tried to expand the characters and give them a little more depth to the reasons why they act in that manner. However it was the outstanding plot that balanced what it lacked.

You have to be a true blue fan to enjoy Abara. This manga is not recommended for people who cannot appreciate an intellectual manga where much thinking is involved, for Tsutomu Mihei's style is to let the pictures tell the story rather than the dialogues.
This story like most of Tsutomu Mihei's work (Creator of Blame!), consists of few dialogues. His work is fabulously beautiful, the intricate style of drawing and minute details never ceases to amaze me.
Abara's plot is fairly simplistic, the man saves the world typical plot. With the short 2 volumes, Tsutomu Mihei weaves its subplots into
...
its simplistic plot adding flavour to it. While his plot is interesting and his art work is fabulously, he lacks character development. The characters are simple and what you see is what you get.
You'll probably get a different opinion on everything, every time you re-read this too.

For those who enjoy a good plot and ending, this is highly recommended series.
This sequel or rather season 2 of Code Geass was exceptionally looked forward to after a brilliant season 1. In this season, it patches the loopholes that Season 1 had presented to you, giving you a complete and whole storyline. Despite having looked forward to it much and the chance of great disappointment for such high expectations, I'm relieved to say that Code Geass has managed to lived up to my expectations.
----Story----
The story starts off what appears to disconnected to the season 1 which acts as a surprise
...
to most viewers, however as this is Code Geass, it turns around giving most viewers an unexpected explanation.
It twists and turns and while there were parts where the story had been slow and seemingly somewhat draggy, it makes up for it with the brilliant plans that the main character hatches. It always catches me off guard to something that seemed hopeless. Though it fails to hook me onto my seat during this season, nevertheless it never misses its beat making each time that I watch it, enjoy myself to the fullest.
The plot that seems to be somewhat simplistic in the end turns out to be something not quite as simple as it makes out to be, which makes it quite a bonus.
Ending wise, it was an incredible ending and it was something totally unexpected. This series' ending is one of the best I've seen to this date.
----Animation----
Sharp pointed chins, multi- coloured eyes and hair is typical of many anime. There is nothing special about the characters. What sets Code Geass' characters apart from other animes, I believe, is the costume design. The costumes despite them being simple, show thought behind the designs with the tasteful "gold trimmings" and simple colours.
----Sound----
The soundtrack for this anime is pleasant and enjoyable to listen to off the anime. It is able to convey the emotions that the anime has tried to although it needs the support of the anime.
----Character----
Code Geass' characters have come a long way from where they started since the beginning of the season. The characters in this series change and evolve with every trial they meet. This makes the characters feel more realistic and easier to relate to. I had even found myself feeling sorry for a character that I had originally hated.
----Enjoyment----
I had highly enjoyed watching this series and with the plot that has no loopholes at the end or the ending that seems awesome, there is a great satisfaction in finishing this series. I find myself re-watching this series over and over again to re-create the pleasure I found watching it.

Having enjoyed the series, I had looked forward to watching this. Unfortunately, though being a fan of this series, I found this ova truly disappointing.
----
Story
----
The plot was plain and frankly there is nothing much to write about. And while it is uncomplicated and easy to understand, it doesn't captivate the audience.
----
Art
----
...
Probably the only salvageable part of this ova. Peppered with bishounens (pretty boys), there is a depth of research of the traditional japanese living ways seen in its art.
----
Sound
----
The soundtrack is pleasant to ears, however while it tries hard to capture the mood of the ova, it fails short in certain parts.
----
Character
----
Having enjoyed the set of characters in the anime series, I had looked forward to seeing them again. This ova, has tried to put in enough screen time for each of their characters, but because of this, it becomes messy. It tries too much and ends up making several characters to the point of annoyance.
----
Enjoyment
----
In whole, while I enjoyed the appearance of more bishounens, I found the ova severely lacking to the point of annoyance. I do not recommend it to anyone except the die hard fans.

I chanced upon Blood+ while looking for new anime to watch, this is not an anime to be missed. Though I have watched countless of anime, this anime has one of the most lasting and strongest impression on me.
-----
Story
-----
In the beginning, the story is gritty and hard to watch as it lays down the foundation for the plot, but the pace quickens as it reaches the middle. While the story may be somewhat predictable, it manages to deliver the predictable plot in a refreshing way. 50 episodes may sound alot, however while watching it, it has managed to hold me
...
on the edge of the seat to watch it right to the end. The story itself seems plain and nothing special, but it dives into the details making you to want more. The plot development was well done, leaving no loop holes to anyone to guess at. A well rounded development in both story and plot.
------
Art
-----
Its art is better than the general anime. Yet while watching you may notice the intricate details that the artist has drawn in - the weapons, the scenery. The expressions of the characters have been drawn well.
------
Sound
------
The soundtrack of this anime is one of the most amazing ones I have heard. The essence of the scene captured perfectly. It was been able to convey the emotions of what one might feel in that situation without much support of the art. Moreover to listen to it on its on, despite not being much of a classical music fan, I have found it extremely enjoyable to listen to. Having said that, it was composed by Mark Mancina who is a Hollywood composer, having such an excellent soundtrack might not be such a surprise after all.
-----
Character
-----
Most animes lack proper character development, animes that have good character development are few and I am probably able to count on without them without using my toes. Blood+ however, specializes in this. Each character developed proper with an indepth view of his/her background and personality change. This makes its refreshing to watch.
-----
Value
-----
I seldom re-watch animes and animes rated 8 and above are too few to count. I have enjoyed Blood+ throughly despite having re-watched far too much (I think 10x times is a little too much too)

I enjoyed myself tremendously while watching this anime. It features a storyline that I find extremely fascinating and not to mention unique. Despite the fact that the art style did not appeal much to me, it captured my attention right to the end of the series.
For those who lament that many animes do not have a decent storyline, this is a must watch.
Animation
----
Though its art did not appeal to me at first,it's fightning scenes varied from bold lines to American comic styled drawings in its fighting scenes. While the ships of the enemies had been in detail, I found it lacked severly. It seemed to
...
me that the artist of the anime had been tired drawing and while the drawing of characters had improved, certain parts of the presentation had been a let down.
It combines a mixture of 3d and drawings which seemed strange at first but it blended very well.
Sound
----
The soundtrack of this anime was pleasant to listen to by itself. It was able to convey emotions without much support from the animation. This helped the anime to convey the emotions it could not achieve.
Character
----
As for character development wise, this anime had not clearly or may not even have development some of its main characters. However this is pretty common for most animes. It did however make an effort to develop some of its characters which in the end result makes the characters more likable and more realistic. I even found myself liking a character that I had disliked in the first half.
Character Design wise, it had been overall simplistic, allowing its plot and unique storyline to shine.
Story
----
Noein's storyline is fantastic. Its depth of research is obvious. On first impressions, it was hard to understand the theories that brought the story about, but the anime slowed down to explain repeatedly in easy terms for its viewers to swallow making the anime easy to watch. The base line of the story is matchless even when compared to other Sci-Fi animes.
While general plot, save the world, exists, it is hidden by its many subplots, making the anime appearingly less cliche than others. The story twists and turns unexpectedly making you constantly wonder what would happen next and making you get shocked at an unexpected twist.
A general amount of anime has cliche, lame, bad or <insert descriptive word here> endings. However for Noein I found the ending was pretty decent. It was not fantastic but definitely above average. The only lamentable thing is that the ending was too aburpt. The end effect nevertheless makes you crave to know more and possibly the effect the creators had tried to create.
Value
-----
Its enjoyable to watch and re-watching. However after its plot is revealed, it leaves you wanting to know more.
