This is my first review on this site, so it may not be as accurate or as critical as others, but it contais what I see the most in the series and what I wish I heard/read before watching Steins;Gate 0.
The series follows up as a sequel to the Episode 22 in the original series and Alternative 23 (OVA).
The beggining may feel really slow and off, as most characters don't seem as "complete" as in the original show. Their personalities are a little more one-directional, there isn't a huge motivation or big humour in the show. That changes a

bit after some episodes, by the introduction of new characters, but still, isn't nearly as good as the original one.
The art seems off, Mayushi and Suhu apparently get a boob implant, action scenes look bad, the whole story looks like a multiple hour filler; everything was awfully done as if they wanted to ruin the whole show... that was for 15 episodes or so, that's when the plot arrived.
Action scenes do get a little better, the episodes get you as hooked as in the first season, and all characters get a better sense of purpose and personality back. The whole show turns into a rollercoster of emotions and you can hardly resist clicking the next episode. The whole story from this point explains all scenes we did not understand in episode 1 and 23 from the original series, and it does it beautifully.
The main reason I'm writing this review is because I don't want anyone to drop this show before they discover the diamonds behind it. That's why I say: keep digging, even if it feels bad, it's gonna get better I promise! The last 5 episodes are WORTH IT 100%, and nothing will feel right if you skip past to that point, that's the reason you have to endure it all the way through.
I have a peculiar way of scoring animes, so here's my process of thinking:
Art: 2.0/2.5
-Animation was not it's best point and didn't any strong points either. Didn't have perspective shots with Okarin in the screen like in the original, and the fights scenes kept being mediocre only until the last part of the show. With that said, I felt like some shots were incredibilly well done (specially in the last 5 eps), and the overall quality was similar to what we saw in the first season for most of the time. I must admit, the whole reason why I haven't hive this part a "1.5" is because of the score. The sound is amazing and so are most of the scenes in the later half.
Concept and World Building: 2.0/2.5
-Keeps the same concepts from first season without altearing any of it, adds with further explanation and maintain everything under the main character's perspective point. But still, I wish they explained more stuff. I guess it's understandable considering the main charcater's perspective point, but I didn't want the first entire half of the show to feel so bad to watch. Seriously, the only "science" part was boring, and felt like a rip off to the main story in Steins;Gate original. Still, showed some great things and explained many plots in the last few episodes.
Characters: 2.0/2.5
-They seem bad from most of the time, some of them really show no purpose at all, and the only good thing to notice is the emotional discussions and decisions taken from the characters's perspectives. The show truly shows what a hero does when he's given up on everything, and describes it pretty well, but I must admit, lots of episodes show almost nothing worth mentioning from the side characters, which is what makes it feel like a filler. Again, that changes in the last few episodes, and it is enough to make me give it a great score.
Story: 2.5/2.5
-I can't convince you of it without spoilling the whole thing, so I'll just say it felt like I was watching Steins;Gate. The last half of the show got me hooked, the last episodes gave me chills, and some scenes even left me with a huge smile in my face. Not many shows can do that, and for that, It deserves some respect. The story is GREAT, the plot is nice, and all the character development was compressed into just a few episodes, but somehow made everything feel like it was worth it. Steins;Gate is truly a masterpiece of artwork, and Steins;Gate 0 adds to it like no other.
Overall: 8.5
Worth watching? Absolutely
Is it bad? For most of the episodes, yes. But the ending makes all worth it.
It's a good ending quality-wise, I'm not someone who just brags about a fairy tail because everyone "lives hapylly ever after".
[side note if you're about to click my profile]
If you come to my profile, know that I haven't ranked many shows that fairly, and I still change my opinion every once in a while, but most of the stuff above and 8 must be a good watch.]
