Both Anime concentrate on samurai's and their bizarre adventures. both have very strong and dominant lead characters, who find them selfs following a certain pattern in the way to their goal This two shows have very graphic gore animation, and lots of bloody and amazing sword fights Shigurui is probably a bit more hard to follow, but both shows are very good and unique

Well, though the plots are quite different, i found the main idea in both animes very similar Cool lead guy forced into a new setting and affected by a series of weird events forced to adjust in the new surroundings, learning of new worlds, new cultures, new kingdoms and rules Both animes are filled with action scenes, many cool fights, a lot of running away Both Thor and Zed are pretty much alike in their stubborn~childish yet cool kinda way they both become pretty famous upon appearing in the new world little by little they both become strong in their fields, and rise to the top, where their ultimate goal dwells Plus, they both have cool gray hair~ If you liked Kiba, give Jyu Oh Sei a shot [and vise verse]

Plot wish, these two shows have pretty much nothing in common. Though essentially, both shows are pretty much similar, comedy wise. Both are very easy going and slow animes, and both have a very unique, slice of life, sort of cynical humor. It is most likely that you would enjoy both as a "pass the time" sort of anime, as they are both very relaxing and easy going animes. Also, both shows concentrate on university students, yet the anime itself does not focus on the studying itself, but more on the daily events of the main characters. Basically, the humorous situations are pretty alike in both shows, though Genshiken is probably a bit better.

Both very supernatural and hard to follow shows. I recommend you watch them slowly and connect the dots little by little, then you will find both shows very horrific and formidable, yet somewhat entertaining and interesting. Both shows are equally good.
