Kubikiri Cycle tells the story of a young man called Li-chan and his experience in an isolated mansion where geniuses are brought together to work alone, but end up living together as a kind of "family".
Each character presented has striking characteristics that are reflected in often unsettling designs, conveying their respective geniuses... with the exception of Li-chan. He is portrayed as a pessimistic boy who avoids conflict, finds it difficult to be honest and lives in constant denial of himself - to the point of not even knowing for sure why he is there. This contrasts sharply with Kunigisa Tomo, the blue-haired girl he spends the most time with. Unlike Li-chan, she is naive and lively, but shows a sharp intelligence at crucial moments. This dichotomy between the two gives rise to an engaging emotional dynamic.
Throughout the story, Li-chan interacts with the various inhabitants of the mansion, and each dialog acts as a provocation - almost as if they were poking at his weaknesses and fears, forcing him to reflect on himself.
The framing during key moments is disconcerting, amplifying the tension and mystery brilliantly. These details, combined with the nuances of the characters' behavior, help to create an atmosphere where the viewer finds himself suspicious of everything and everyone. Even so, some events can seem difficult to fully understand, which only reinforces
Overall, Kubikiri Cycle is a reflective mystery anime with a touch of romance. Although the names of the characters can be difficult to remember, the undeniably unique artistic style and the emotional depth of the dialog make it an unforgettable experience for those looking for something out of the ordinary.
