To be honest, this review will be MOSTLY subjective. If you want a realistic review of what Blood Blockade Battlefront really is, just read another one.
First of all, i have, if i dont miss one, rewatched the first season third time, and third time i had the same experience.
Blood Blockade Battleferont take place in an strange city called "Hellsalem's lot", an alternate version of New York / Washington ( i dont remember well about this point ) who have merged with another world called "The beyon", after an little apocalypse.
We will follow Leonardo Watch, the owner of the God Eyes, who
...
got the ability tho ( almost ) see everything. He will join the organization called "Libra" after an error and help them to save the city a lot of time.
If i liked Blood Blockade Battlefront is for a lot of reasons. But if i have to talk about 3 of them, it will be :
The general ambiance of Hellsalem's Lot. I really found that Kekkai Sensen had a good and strange overall ambiance. It's really easy to get the feeling that we also live in this city while watching this anime. The OST take a lot of place in this part.
The emotions. After third watch, i keep crying at the same scene. I can't explain while, but the emotions in Blod Blockade Battlefront are ironically the most human thing you will found. Like scene that only speak about friendship around a man that love burger ( this man is the goat ) and who forgot everything about the protaognist.
And the characters. Everyone in this show are fuckng weird and funny. That's make the show really easy to watch. Take the exemple of Zapp Renfro. He have everything of the badass and cool character, owning a sword and using a fire power, but this man is the definition of an living waste. I can also talk about the protagonist himself, Leonardo Watch, who look always lost in this anime, seeming too common for this world.
If you want to watch an anime and just smile, just go watch Blood Blockade Battlefront.
Despite everything, this anime is not what i can call a "Good Adaptation", because they are too many differences with the original stuff. It's more like a good tribute to this amazing story writed by the father of Trigun !
