Goat's review of Honzuki no Gekokujou
STORY: 9/10
This one takes a interesting spin on the isekai genre in that avoids some of the more common tropes. For example in many a isekai our protagonist is an overpowered teenage magical male who must go on a great adventure to save the world from a demon lord or some nonsense. Here our protagonist is a little girl whose magic is hindering her and her only goal is to find a book. Such a simple a idea but by putting in the the classic isekai medieval setting and applying real world how real world economics would effect the rarity
...
in those circumstances drives our protagonist on a "Spice & Wolf" like economic driven journey to make the book. Later in the 2nd season you start seeing more magic which with the build up if feels like your learning more about the world with the main character which just made me want to keep learning.
ART: 10/10
The art of this anime is beautiful. The backgrounds and places where are characters interact are detailed look like paintings and you can tell whatever animators worked on this put all their effort into making this. The more cartoony parts that show our main character's inner thoughts are adorable and hilarious. The characters are all unique and distinct in designs and then there is completely amazing thing that is done with the characters designs in that whenever our main character, Myne interacts with another character and becomes part of their life, that character's hair gains a distinct shine in their hair via more detailed shading, The story explanation is that Myne has or influenced them to wash their hair and that change in appearance sets those character apart from every person in that world and shows their importance and how Myne has altered their own lives for the better. A brilliant use of art/story integration.
SOUND: 10/10
Along with the art the sound is beautiful. The OP and EP are charming and this extends to the background music of the series which of whimsical flute and other instruments that gives life to the medieval setting and can be oddly calming at time. The voice acting (Japanese deb) is well done, giving the character's voice fitting the right pitches to emphasize their emotions with well done matching of mouth movements.
CHARACTERS: 9/10
The characters all seem like simple folk trying to scrape by in a poor medieval society, but the series puts great effort focusing on their goals, worries insecurities, and their relationships. As characters interact with our protagonist they develop, changing from their more stand-offish and bland attitude to being people who are enduring the main character and by extension us the viewer, and when this happens you notice the art shift in the design of their hair mentioned above. The one thing that I didn't like is that moving into the second season many a characters that are prevalent in the first season become less seen in favor of new characters, which is a shame.
ENJOYMENT: 10/10
I intended to watch this series over the course of a week. I ended up watching both seasons that are currently available in 1 day. Simply put I fell in love with show and hope a season 3 happens soon.
OVERALL 9/10:
With a great story and characters, and absolutely stunning art and music/sound. Honzuki no Gekokujou is an amazing anime which again I really want a 3rd season. I highly recommend watching this show and I myself will be picking up the light novels to see how the story continues in the meantime.

Goat's Review of Monster Musume no Oishasan
STORY: 8/10
The story is not completely unlike that of an American medical drama where our doctor protagonist must figure out what the medical issue is with the patient of the episode and then treating said illness. The catch being every patient is half animal so that introduces biological issues in which our human doctor must figure out how to deal with. Think a cheery version of House with animal people and that is pretty much the medical half of the show. The second half is that all the patients are girls who are going to fall in love with
...
our protagonist doctor slowly forming a harem because that seems to be the standard for monster girl series. The one noticeable different monster girl series is that it generally avoids more ecchi elements and scenes which is refreshing. Sure there are a few "Oops I accidentally turned you on" moments but they are generally tame and kept to a minimum
ART: 8/10
The art of this show is gorgeous. Each characters are uniquely designed and the way the town in which they live is beautifully designed and drawn that got me thinking "Yeah if there was a city that had harpies and mermaids it would probably have/need something like that" There are a few scenes were if you look closely you might think is something is off, but generally those are kept to the background and you may not notice them.
SOUND: 8/10
The voices were all clear and distinct with no issues matching to character mouth movements. The EP and OP were alright and sound alright they just are not really my cup of tea.
CHARACTERS: 8/10
The characters fit the needed tropes for a monster girl series. You have the generally bland dark haired 17 year old fit for self insert boy as main character, your jealous lamia main love interest, your proud warrior centaur, your spider-girl who looks and act dangerous but is really a good person, etc. etc. What makes the character of this series stand out is their interaction with one another. Most monster girls shows have their girl interact with each other when in the presence of the male lead with the explicit purpose of trying to one up each other to get into said male lead pants. In this show the girls interact with each other and share their thoughts about the male lead and tell more of their personalities and lives outside of our lead, which gives better development and better characters.
ENJOYMENT: 9/10
I'm generally a fan of other world/RPG inspired monster shows. What made me enjoy this one was the unique approaches our doctor protagonist had to take since each patient is different almost making it like a puzzle or riddle to figure out. That with decent world building shown through the design of the town and how it effects its many different inhabitants and some not to lore dumpy expositions, it made me want to see and learn more about this world and watch more of this show
OVERALL: 8/10
With 8s in all but one category this shows gets that 8 overall. A very good show that if you enjoy the monster girl genera I'm sure you'll find enjoyment in.

Goat's Review of Ishuzoku Reviewers
STORY: 8/10
The series has a pretty simple concept. A group of drunken moron go review monster girl brothels. It's a simple concept and is carried out as such. Each episode is pretty self contained and focuses on our main character choosing a type of girl to go sleep with and then doing exactly that with all the good and bad that implies. There are a few arc stories going on like copy-cat reviewers and what's going on with the demons but they pretty much take a back seat with the focus on mainly on our leads bedding the monstergirl-of-the-week, which come
...
on if your watching this show is probably what you wanted to see anyway,
ART: 6/10
The art style wasn't really my cup of tea. I think I'm spoiled by monster girls looking more like those you'd see in Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou or Monster Musume no Oishasan. While the art is not bad by any means I just don't like characters looking to "blob" like...unless they're suppose to be a slime girl....moving on.
SOUND: 9/10
I found the sound to be very good. Each character has a unique voice that fits their character and gives them personality. I didn't notice errors in matching audio with characters' mouth movements and two hilarious, catchy, and lewd songs in the OP and EP performed by the voice actors of our main characters.,,,and also no complaints about the sexy sounds
CHARACTER: 7/10
Over all the main cast fits common roles. You got you cool and somewhat dumb leader with Stunk, your sarcastic second in command with Zel and you get you innocent child like heart of the team with Crim, Stunk and Zel I feel had more potential as it is said that besides their womanizing they are actually strong adventurers and we see some of that and kind of wanted to see more of that (I'll check out the light novel later). The forth spot on the team is usually filled by a side character that helps give insight to the ins and outs (apologies for the bad pun) of their conquest of the episode and all have their unique personalities. The girls while unique by their species all are pretty much the same and their for eye candy...which is probably the point...because they're prostitutes, with the exception of Meidri, the waitress at the bar/HQ of the main character who acts as a more Tsundere voice of reason/discipline to the group.
ENJOYMENT: 8/10
Besides the sexual gratification one might get from this show, a great deal of entertainment comes from its comedy. Watching our 3 idiots deal with all the implications of "dating" a monster girl leads to bad situations that, mind you I called them idiots, fall head first into with physical slap-stick humor that is hilarious.
OVERALL: 8/10
With a 6 in Art, 7 in Characters, 8s in Story and Enjoyment, and a 9 from the Sounds. Ishuzoku Reviewers earns a 8/10. The average of the scores was about 7.5 but I decided to round up as the show did make me laugh and the fact that I'm writing a review about a show about reviewers, it seemed like the right thing to do. If there is one anime that is going to earn you a spot in Hell for being a lecherous pervert this one is not a bad choice, but along the way there is some good comedy delivered by decent characters with a simple goal. So sit back and enjoy this one...though it might be best to watch it alone

Story: 5
Rail Wars story is lack luster at best. Its one part slice of life, one part high school drama, some mild police style action and all ecchi harem. The plot of each arc is basically the cast going on a train trip, something going wrong either by criminals or nature, and then the cast trying to resolve what ever is wrong with the train, all while dealing with which one of the females in the cast lust but not making a move on our main character, while accidentally following breast first into our main character's face. And oh yeah trivia about Japanese trains. Honestly
...
even while the show does have actions moment they are not really that exciting as you are pretty certain that the characters aren't going to fail. Not bad but also not really rememberable.
Art: 5
The art style is your run of the mill big eyed moe designs. The main character, Takayama, is your basic bland standard black haired blank slate harem protagonist. Luckily the rest of the supporting cast have more unique designs. Where the art stands out in this show is the detail given to the trains which since this is a train based anime it should. Oh and you get your classic ecchi female fan service shots which are pretty tame.
Sound: 6
The voice acting is serviceable but nothing really stands out. The sound effects are pretty good but their is an episode that revolves around the sounds trains make but again I don't think their is enough amazing sound work to warrant it. The last episode (12) does have serious issue with matching the audio with the character's lips movements which is weird since it's an issue that isn't present in the rest of the series.
Characters: 4
Unfortunately the character while MOSTLY having unique designs are your common character tropes that border on being stereotypes. Like said earlier Takayama is your bland ecchi protagonist with his only unique trait is he likes trains. Then are your other common tropes of Sakuri being your Tsundere tomboy, Haruka being your moe princess type, and Iwaizumi being your muscle head who like to eat a lot. All their characters play their parts and don't seem to have any development outside of their determined tropes.
Enjoyment: 5
All in all there isn't much to make me love Rail Wars, but not a lot to make me dislike it either. The enjoyment I got out of this was the fact their was a train-based anime and I like trains.
Overall: 5
With 5s in Story, Art, and Enjoyment and a 6 in Sound, and 4 in Characters. This series averages out to a 5 for me. A bland anime with a concept that I feel could be better if it wasn't blended with ecchi harem genre. Honestly you wouldn't be missing much if you missed this one.

Story: 6
I found the concept of the story, "lazy military genius out smarts his opponents" to be an interesting and fun idea. I really enjoyed seeing how the main character out-thought his opponents. However, there was at no time that I felt like the protagonists had a chance at failure with I think you need to have in a war story. The biggest and most unfortunate flaw with the story is that it is unfinished. Because of the series was cancelled I was left feeling unfulfilled at seeing what what happens next. Probably best to pick up the light novel, if you want the full
...
story.
Art: 7
Compared to the light novel art the art tends to lean in a more realistic looking direction, but yet not as realistic as the anime's art. So it appears very middle of the road but, is not bad by any means. The shading does heavy a little on the darker side of things, which while not extreme esthetically pleasing, does mesh well will the military theme. The characters are well drawn and are consistent and look good, and only become flawed when seen in the color pages where the colors chosen for the characters don't seem to watch the realistic designs of the characters. Specially noted is that Ikta design is kind of odd, and almost make him look far more deranged than his appearance in the other mediums. Background art is minimal and has not great detail when is does appear, but this is understandable as the artist is trying to draw attention to the characters
Characters: 6
The character seem to fill the roles you might expect to see in a military story, the leader, the second in command, the medic, the sniper, etc rather well. Of the six main protagonists, Ikta, Chime and Yatorishino are more complex in terms of emotions compared to the other remaining three (Matthew, Torway, Haroma). However all six have a distinct lack of development, which I attribute to the series' short run. As for side characters the it felt like the author was taking a "Game of Thrones" approach where a introduced character that was unique or memorable was specifically put there to be killed of later for drama.
Enjoyment: 6
Overall I enjoyed the manga. This made it all the more disappointing the series ended after 32 chapters. It was that disappointment that really brought down my enjoyment and appreciation for the series since this my introduction into it.
Overall: 6
With 6s in Story, Character, and Enjoyment and a 7 in Art. This series averages out to a 6 for me. I really wanted to give this manga a higher score, but the fact of it's premature end just leaves everything unfulfilling. My recommendation for this series is gonna be pick up the light novel instead and then read this manga if you enjoyed it.

Goat's Review for Ai Tenchi Muyou!
Story: 5/10
The story is, in it of itself. not to bad but the execution is sloppy. The habit of jumping around between plot points at the beginning of the story was annoying. Normally it is acceptable to have a flashback to see the events that started the plot, but Ai Tenchi Muyuo overuses it. This is more a directing fault than writing, and I'm sure that if I had watched the episodes out of order so that they were in chronological order I would have probably given this section a better score. The beginning of the series is also a
...
little slow to start, lacking major conflicts, and several elements that made the original Tenchi Muyuo so entertaining, although some of said elements (sci-fi themes, in-universe mythology continuity) do show up in the last dozen episodes that do make the show feel like a true Tenchi Muyuo plot with a finale that was rather enjoyable.
Art: 7/10
The art is not bad by any means. However, it lacks a certain something that made the original Tenchi series truly shine. If you are fan of the previous series you will probably find it a little more cartoonish. The redesigns of the classic Tenchi Characters (Tenchi, Ryoko, Ayeka, etc.) really did not bother me that much, but die hard fans are probably not going to care for them.
Sound: 7/10
Good sounds and voice over work, no weird errors and audio sinks up pretty well with the movements of characters but nothing really that make it stand out. Not a lot to say, good or bad here.
Character: 5/10
Sadly the Characters were the biggest disappointment for me. Tenchi is more of a clown in this series than his earlier series counterparts. Previous Tenchis did have their foolish moments but always seemed to role with the punches and when push came to shove would put their foot down if things became serious, they were more believable and approached things to how a person would. This Tenchi is more of a punching bad and doormat who falls into the stereotypical accidental pervert jokes you see in many modern harem stories but they just do not seem to lands.
Classic Characters like Ryoko and Ayeka are mitigated to background roles which feel like they were just added into the show to pander fans of the old show with no real interest in taking full advantage the characterization built for them over the course of several series.
New Characters are numerous and each has a unique personalities, but the problem is there are to many new characters with no real focus on any of them for long, making them seem like 1 dimensional with no real development.
Enjoyment: 4/10
Sadly the problems with the beginning of the story and characters really kept me from getting to invested into the series. The comedy seems to fail hitting any joke that are laugh worthy and there is no romance what so ever. It was not until the last episodes were more traditional Tenchi Muyuo plot points were used did I start enjoying things.
Overall Rating: 5/10
With scores of 5, 7, 7, 5, and 4. The series rounds out to a 5 for me. The problems with the way the story is told (not the story itself) and the misuse of characters were the biggest flaws for me. If you are into the Tenchi franchise this is one who can probably skip over and not feel to bad about it.

Review: Gankutsuou
Story: 10/10
The anime is a adaption of the 2nd half of Count of Monte Cristo set with many sci-fi elements. However, the way it is written one element does not overshadow the other. The events of the anime play pretty close to original book and what is added or changed either does not effect the value of the story and in a few cases improves it. Making the story Albert's perspectives offers a unique view of the story which very few consider. Normally I would dock a point for not following the entire the story but those who know the story won't mind and
...
enjoy the new perspective. If you like the original Count of Monte Cristo you are going to love this anime.
Art: 9/10
The characters, and setting are all well designed and beautifully drawn. However, there is a bit of what I would like to call curve getting used to the visual effects the show uses, but after 2 or 3 episodes you should get used to it and not notice it.
Sound: 9/10
The sounds is very good but has some minimal issues depending on the dub you watch. The original Japanese is very good but can sound grainy in some places and some characters can sound similar. The english dub has outstanding voice work but fails to match the mouth movements of characters in several spot.
Characters: 10/10
The character strongly follow their book counter parts. I don't know whether to credit the writers of the anime or Alexandre Dumas for how easy it is to become interested in these characters but they are complex you want to see how each of their problems ends.
Enjoyment: 10/10
Personally, I am a big fan of the Count of Monte Cristo and enjoyed seeing one of my favorite books adapted so well into an anime that followed the book so well
Overall 9/10 - Must Watch
With 10s in story, characters, and enjoyment and 9s in art and sound this anime is a MUST WATCH and I highly recommend it. It is only a 1 or 2 missteps here and there keeping it from being what I would call a masterpiece. A better adaption of the Count of Monte Cristo is going to be hard to find.

I remember finding this H-manga a long time ago and remembered it being pretty good (and not just because it was porn). Giving My MyAnimeList account was new at the time I found it I figured I would give it a re-read and see if it was as good as I remember. So without further ado
Story: 10
Despite being a H-Manga and only 7 chapter long, the story is really good. The story is filled with pretty good humor but can also be serious when it needs to be. Pacing is pretty good despite the short run and the characters are brought together and interact
...
well quickly. That being said the antagonist seems underdeveloped and there just to bring the story to its conclusion. But the ending is nice and satisfactory and makes up for the short comings.
Art: 8
The art is pretty. The bodies of characters are all in the correct proportions and look pretty good. However, there are a few spots (particularly in the early chapters) where the eyes of characters seem a little off and do not look like they match their face. Also while the characters are well drawn the background art is not detailed or missing (though this is mostly during sex scenes so you will probably not notice)
Characters: 9
The characters play well off of each other in this. Their relationship seems believable and when they interact with each other (not including sex) have a pretty good back an forth. Nishimoto (the studen and our male lead) has a very deadpan attitude and is just trying to make his situation work which is what I feel most high school students try to do, while Morisaki (the teacher, female our lead and eye candy) has a duel personality where she is very serious while teaching and a very lazy professional attitude with Nishimoto. Each personality is good in separate characters but the way she is written allows Moriski. I would have given this section a 10 but I feel that the Vice Principal (our main antagonist) was underdeveloped and not used to his potential, so I brought it down to a 9.
Enjoyment: 9
With great characters and writing and very good art I found it very enjoyable. So much so that going back and re-reading it I found I liked it a little bit more. And the sex scenes are not that bad either.
Overall: 9
With a 10 in Story. 8 in Art. and 9s in Characters and Enjoyment the Overall Score averages to 9. I highly recommend Kyoushi to Seito to (Teacher and Student) if you are looking for a short story if you got an hour (though probably less) you want to fill with a dirty story. That being said, this is a H-manga and not suitable for anyone under 18.
