Nobunaga Concerto

Both "InuYasha" and "Nobunaga Concerto" take place in the feudal age of Japan. The protagonist of both stories also comes from the present day to carry out a duty of a character who shares their physical appearance - Saburo carries out the duties of Nobunaga Oda while Kagome Higurashi carries out the duties left by the priestess Kikyo, and both protagonists get frequently mistaken for their feudal counterparts.

Im
|
Like Im, Yu-Gi-Oh! focuses on a character from Ancient Egypt (known throughout the series as Yami Yugi or Pharaoh) who comes back to life and must prevent his past enemies from destroying the world. Both protagonists are high-ranking Ancient Egyptians (Im being a High Priest and Yami Yugi being a Pharaoh) and they live in modern day society after being brought back to life. Magicians and magic are also common themes in both mangas, dark magic especially linking to the protagonists. Both main characters are also misunderstood, being feared and viewed as evil by many when really they are both thoughtful heroes. In both mangas there are Ancient Egyptian items which are possessed by spirits, a golden box covered with hieroglyphics being the item used in both Im and Yu-Gi-Oh!. The spirits in both mangas are able to possess other people and change how they behave. # Finally there is the presence of the Egyptian Gods. While the main Gods are different in Im compared to Yu-Gi-Oh! (Anubis and Thoth in Im, Ra and Osiris in Yu-Gi-Oh!), there is still a notable presence in both series (for example, Anubis is a term used throughout Yu-Gi-Oh! for the names of villains or playable cards).

Kyoukai no Rinne

When I first watched Kyoukai no Rinne it immediately reminded me of Bleach. The protagonist is both a shinigami and a human, much like Ichigo, and has a very similar attitude (rather calm and only bothered by true threats). Rinne and Ichigo both have the job of sending lost souls to their respected places (Soul Society in Bleach, the Wheel of Reincarnation in Kyoukai no Rinne). Kyoukai no Rinne is a little more light-hearted than Bleach, though the humour in both animes is rather similar, for example: both Ichigo and Rinne tend to get injured in humourous scenes, or they end up arguing with their female companion.

Shingeki no Kyojin

Though it sounds strange, Origin would have been like the original Attack on Titan if it was an anime series. It follows a world ruined by a mistake made by humanity regarding genetics. Some humans share the power with the aggressive force (titan shifters in AoT, enhanced humans in Origin). Humanity has been reduced to a small number and some people are fighting against the force while others are not. Both Origin and Attack on Titan centre on a determined protagonist who wishes to make a change.

Shounen Sunday CM: Kyoukai no Rinne

Both Bleach and Kyoukai no Rinne focus on a red-headed teenage boy who is a shinigami, though more human than the other shinigami. Both protagonists must lead lost souls into the afterlife/Rinnie no Wa, but they also have to battle those who interfere with these processes.

Shounen Sunday CM: Kyoukai no Rinne

Not only are the two animes created by Rumiko Takahashi, but the characters are very similar. Both series focus on a character who is half-human but half something else, and that other half is something they try to be more often. A lot of other characters in Kyoukai no Rinne are very alike to the ones in Inuyasha, which fans would be able to point out instantly. Inuyasha may be a little more serious and long-winded, though it still offers the same comedic moments and lovable characters.
