Dragon Ball Daima brings a sense of nostalgia to an already legendary franchise and a breath of fresh air by going back to its roots. As Dragon Ball's power scaling kept getting higher, it moved further from its focus on martial arts, and now it's back with Daima!
The announcement of a new Dragon Ball project excited me a fair bit since we didn't have much Dragon Ball after the release of the Broly movie back in 2018. It also sparked a renewed interest, given that this is the last Dragon Ball project the late Toriyama-sensei was working on.
The prospect of the characters turning into kids
...
wasn't anything new; GT had the same idea for Goku. But this time it isn't a repeat of that. After finishing the 8th episode of the new addition to the story, I've felt the old Dragon Ball Saga vibe all over again. The adventure and martial art are back. The demon realm and a few other aspects of the story had some new additions to their lore. Instead of menacing villains like Freiza, Cell, or Buu, Daima has some cunning ones in the form of Gomah, Degesu, and Arinsu. We have a new mysterious character named Glroio. The true villain is yet unknown, though so is our hero's journey and how the story will unfold.
The fight scenes are more focused on martial arts than earth-shattering transformation. Goku still is a powerhouse and can use his transformations. But the fight is now much more enjoyable thanks to the change in focus and, not to mention, excellent animation. The new OP and ED are great, and so is the soundtrack.
The only thing that was kind of disappointing was the slow-paced nature of the show. There hasn't been a lot of fighting so far in the show. Considering it's just the beginning of the adventure, I'm interested to see how it goes. Since Daima is focused on a new adventure and doesn't require the viewers to watch the old series, it can be a great way to get into the world of Dragon Ball.
Toriyama-sensei's last work turned out to be exactly what defined Dragon Ball in the past. The new adventure of Goku is exciting, has good world building, a bunch of new and interesting characters, new additions to Dragon Ball's lore, and only time will tell what's more!

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is an exploration of the fleeting nature of human life and the beauty of living. A story of love, loss, shared memories, human emotions, and the exploration of life through the eyes of an immortal being, her journey to understand humanity and the meaning of existence.
The story combines fantasy with slice-of-life and philosophical elements. From Frieren's perspective, the story explores many aspects of what makes us human, including our emotions and shared memories. She recalls the memories of her companions and her time with them by constantly coming across the remnants they have left in the world, even though they are
...
long gone. Every step of this emotional journey brings back memories of her past. An insignificant amount of her lifespan, and yet those years had a profound impact on her life. With grief and regret, Frieren embarks on a new journey with new companions. But this time, she wants to understand them. She does not want to make the same mistake and live with more regrets.
It's already obvious at this point that the story Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is not the type of fantasy anime we used to see often. Instead, it's the aftermath of a journey and the beginning of a new one. The demon king is defeated by the hero's party, and the journey has come to an end. So, Frieren bids farewell to her friends as she seeks magic across the continent. It was Himmel's death that made Frieren realize how valuable her friends were, as well as the memories they forged together. Death is something beyond Frieren's understanding. She never gave much thought to it. And yet there she stands at Himmel's funeral with sorrow and regret.
The story is thought-provoking and very meaningful. It shows us that even the little things in our lives can be beautiful and impact our lives beyond our imagination. Our shared experiences are what make others remember us even after we die. It does not have to be something grand—a small birthday party, a promise made to one's deceased wife, a childhood promise of becoming adventurers between friends—they all seem mundane, but small moments like these are essential parts of our lives. In Himmel's words, “To live is to be known and remembered by others. Change someone's life, even just in a small way. That's probably enough.”
Frieren is an adventure anime, and it excels at world-building. Through its journey, it explores the different places on the continent as Frieren's new party embarks on a quest to reach their destination, the furthest end of the continent. It felt somewhat similar to the epic fantasy of J.R.R. Tolkien, “The Lord of the Rings”, which is renowned for its great world-building in the sense that the fellowship there also embarks on a quest to reach a distant land. Frieren is not a high fantasy, and so the similarity ends there. But for a fantasy anime, Frieren does a good job at world-building and expanding the lore of the story with different places and characters.
The characters are all very well-written and likeable. Even supporting characters with very little screen time felt they were a part of the story. Character growth is at the essence of this story. Frieren goes from an apathetic person to someone who wants to understand humans, as she regrets how she didn't value her time with her friends despite knowing they were destined to die someday. Each episode also gives her companions significant character depth as she remembers them and comes across the marks they've left behind for her. It crafts the characteristics of Himmel, Eisen, and Heiter through Frieren's memories, and they further contribute to the story's narrative and the various aspects of humanity. Every character is likeable, feels real, and is sometimes even relatable. They're not perfect, and this imperfection makes them feel even more realistic. The supporting characters of the story become relatable just like the main ones. The story gives each of them enough depth, and with each different person, it shows the different sides of each individual as they all embody different perspectives on life. Fern and Stark are precious, and their interactions are just cute. The journey briefly included characters like Sein and Kraft, and it's a shame that we could not have more time with them. The “First-Class Mage Exam Arc” introduces a lot of characters, and the story gives many of them enough depth and backstory—a proper treatment that is kind of rare in fantasy anime.
Even though it's a tranquil adventure show with a slow-burning slice-of-life vibe all over the place, it does have some actions. And when it comes to action sequences, Frieren is no pushover. The action scenes were well-crafted! Madhouse and its animators handled this part with so much attention that they deserve praise. I would even go so far as to say that it has some of the best actions and animations in recent memory. The fights of “Aura the Guillotine Arc” were exceptionally well-made. This continues into the “First-Class Mage Exam Arc”, where Frieren and Fern's fight against Frieren's doppelgänger takes it to a whole new level. It wasn't just the height of magic, but for animation as well.
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End has some stunning visuals, a decent art style, and very likable colors. Visually, this anime is very eye-pleasing; every frame is rich with details and gorgeous background art, and the atmosphere is so relaxing. Music is another aspect where it excels. Evan Call has made many memorable pieces of music, and Violet Evergarden had some of my most favorite music in anime. As expected, Frieren has excellent scores that perfectly blend into the anime's atmosphere. Frieren's calm and yet enchanting music brings a serene feeling to an already heartwarming story.
In conclusion, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is a beautiful story that can change how we see living beings and also how we deal with the intricacies of our own lives and our inevitable end. It offers much more than an enjoyable adventure show with good characters, action, and world-building. It's a thought-provoking story that reminds us to cherish our memories and live life to the fullest with the limited time that we have so that we don't reach the end of our lives with regret. Likewise, it's undeniably a modern classic and has rightfully earned its place in the hall of fame of anime.

This season had a number of Isekai's but nothing that much special to set them apart. I started this show without any high expectations but the show didn't disappoint. The story isn't something out of the world and it doesn't come close to being a top-tier Isekai. But, the show delivers and it's among the hidden gems of this season.
The story is pretty simple. A guy named Saitou has found himself in another world. As a Handyman in his original world he felt he wasn't needed. But, here in this world, he is a part of an Adventuring Party and for the first time
...
he started to feel like he is truly a part of something. We don't have an OP hero here, instead Saitou can be said to be the 'Brain' of this party. The party consists of a female knight (Raelza) , a moonlight fairy (Lafanpan) and finally a forgetful wizard (Morlock). Saitou plays various roles here from unlocking the treasures to helping Morlock-san to remind him his spells. The characters were fun to watch, specially Morlock. Their past and the character build-up was also praiseworthy. Here, we don't have any Demon Lord to defeat. Instead the party is out to explore the labyrinth.
The overall vibe of the show is pretty refreshing. The Art is okay, it could have used more colors but it's alright. The comedy isn't anything special but it works. The same can be said about the side characters as well. They were pretty amusing. It was nice to see an Isekai which is a bit different. It felt a little sad since this show got totally overlooked without much attention. More people should give this Anime a try.
Overall : 7/10.

I watched the first season and my overall impression was just fine. The show was good but nothing groundbreaking. After finishing the 2nd season, I would say I enjoyed it a bit more than the previous one.
The main girl, Komi-san is shy as always, unable to convey her feelings. But she has slowly started to break the ice and actually spoke some words bravely. Although, I would say Tadano was a little off balanced compared to the previous season. The side characters on the other hand had more spotlight in this season which is actually fine and some of them filled the role of
...
Tadano this time.
The art style was the same as the previous one. Really liked that ending theme. This season felt a little bit underwhelming and mostly went under the radar unlike hit shows like Spy x Family. Regardless, this was overall a good season.
