Boke and Tsukkomi: The Anime
It may not have many ROFL moments, but Yuyushiki gave me more sharp chuckles than any other anime I've seen. It kept a smile on my face through every episode. And the characters have that quality that makes you laugh just by looking at them. Not because they look funny, but because they have a certain quirky charm to them.
I've heard the show likened to a group of crackheads formulating ideas and laughing at theirselves, and I'd have to say that's pretty spot-on.

I'm a big fan of shows that stick to their guns. Shows that clearly know what they are and what they want to be. That tells me that the writers had a theme or plan in mind and put care into their work to make that plan happen. If the characters, theme, mood, setting and music all compliment each other, as far as I'm concerned not much else really matters.
Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi seems to struggle with the above. It's difficult to make out what this anime wants to be. "Comedy" is the first genre listed, but the anime's attempts at comedy are out ... Jan 11, 2015

Since 2014 is over I think it's appropriate to write a short review of how I felt about Fairy Tail in 2014. I watched all of the Previous episodes so of course I had some expectations going into this season.
Almost none of those expectations were met. The fight scenes are terrible and leave so much to be desired. The humor isn't funny anymore. The dialogue is cringe-worthy at times. Natsu has become a pansy. I haven't felt any satisfaction from anything that has happened so far this season. Overall Fairy Tail feels like it has become exclusively an anime for children and young teens. But ... |
