okay i've finally watched death note and i think it does all the hype and praise it gets...the 1st half was flawless literally, i mean there were minuscule stuffs but i will probably just sound nitpicky if i complain about them... the 2nd half tho thats were it begins to crack...the 2nd half is predictable and it was messy...i will give u few examples

why were N and M only contacted after 6 years?? wouldn't watari's msg reach them immediately? why would they let a person act as L for 6 years??

the whole plot of mello kidnapping people for the notebook...in that situation ... light was just dumb.. him killing the director of police was such a dumb move because
* that man didnt even know about the book!
* only police and FBI and the mafia gang knew about the situation so killing that man narrowed down suspects
*anyone with 2 brain cells will put together the fact that kira was hesitant to sayu...and this in return even further narrows down suspects (light should know this hes not dumb)
*also why would kira, want the police, people who are trying to catch him have his weapon?? wouldnt it make sense for kira to get back the notebook himself?? why would he help them in the 1st place?? again no sense
these are just few basic questions that should have popped in light's head before executing it...he just gave himself away in that situation

N and M are not as smart as L and that was something i was surprisingly fine with...it would have been really bad if N was just a L carbon copy...

now lets talk about light!!!
light as a character is fucking awesome and the show was this interesting because of him..he was smart, charming, manipulative and he was one hell of a chameleon and thats all the good stuff i have to say about him because light as human is a fucking piece of shit...hes a hypocrite with a god complex and his downfall was inevitable because of his fucking ego..

okay he wants to punish criminals to make the world a better place fine i agree with him, i have no problem with him killing criminals but thats not his goal tho? his goal is to become the god of an ideal world and killing criminals was just one of the things he HAS to do to "cleanse" the world...he seems to think that all his "good doings" will cross out his bad ones...he said he wont kill innocent people are police and FBI or anyone who want to catch kira not innocent in his eyes?? he contradicts himself...

he told rem to give the notebook to a money and power hungry human who will use the notebook selfishly...the irony is light is exactly like higuchi..the only difference is light is actually smart...he had no problem killing higuchi because he was a scum and thats what scums "deserve". What makes light think he is not a scum?? hes sooo into his god complex he doesnt even realize he is everything he hates soo much in the world he convinces himself that he's an exception because hes special..hes special because hes destined to be god...

one of my favorite scene in the show was when L asked light "how he can lie to everyone all the time" everything about that scene was just 10/10..

overall i think its a great show and i loved it soo much... the ending for me made sense and i liked it...light was doomed from the start and he was gonna get caught one way or the other it was just the matter of when...

is this the good apocalyptic series?? NO! in fact this series does not explore those topics at all they just touch on it and they barely explain it...if u are looking for a series which explores the different aspects of an apocalyptical world and worldbuilding then this is not the show for u. a wasted opportunity if u ask me... but i still think this series is worth a watch..this show mainly explores the live of shion and everything is explained from his point of view and our guy shion values the relationship he has with other people more than worldbuilding which is fine ig... ... anyways this show is entertaining if u like romance! there isnt much of mystery well they never explain it anyways... the show is not bad by any means its just not gonna explore the worldbuilding aspect and focuses more on people..its a cute show just dont have high expectations for this...

at 1st i thought its just a regular heist job but i was a bit surprised when it was super powered humans who steal shit to survive? but i was hyped i love me some morally grey shows..

soo whats wrong with this show?? the story sounds solid, the characters are hot and have great chemistry, the art style seems cool and on top of that they are some decent action scenes too....in theory this show has everything it needs to be a great show but thats where netflix comes in....

time and time again netflix proves why we shldnt trust them to ... put out a good show they set our hopes very high only to fall flat...the loose ends and the plot holes in this show are just too much to ignore. examples of this

1.why are john's friends not caught along with john? they just never get caught only john does its almost like the writers forget about them and bring them up when they are needed for the plot

2.they never explained why there were no superheroes in japan

3.they set up things like "who's john's father" in the 1st episode but that was never mentioned again..

the plot is just rushed our in the end this its an 24 episode anime cramped into 13th episodes they focused more on outsmarting everyone than the actual plot because of this everything was just soo obvious... the "shocking" moments were not shocking like at all..

because of cramping a full plot in 3 episodes the viewers including are just left unsatisfied...because the writers themselves where the ones who set the bar...the show started of in a high note the 1st 5 episodes were really great but after that it was a down hill...

soo add this to the long list of wasted opportunity in the catalogue of netflix like seriously they drooped a massive stone in this one....this show could have been an anime that has a good mixture of western traits but still an anime...

OVERALL: do is it worth watching? i mean if u are into this genre then yes even tho this show has a lot of flaws its still is not that bad and i did have fun watching it...soo all in all if u can look past the plot holes u will enjoy this show
