Akatsuki no Yona took me by surprise. At first I thought it would be another anime about a clueless teenage girl, but no. It was much MUCH more than that.
What I loved most was the character development. Yona's character went from a young and spoiled rich girl to a confident and strong warrior. Female empowerment at its best. Hak also grew into a wonderful man. It had alot of great moments where I found myself gasping with excitement or crying from laughing too hard at a joke only Hak would say.

Let me begin by saying I have planned to watch this anime for so long. I even watched the first episodes 3 times, but I couldn't follow. BUT, when I decided to give it another chance I got hooked. The ruthlessness of the story is what drew me in.
SO. MANY. DEATHS. Given a lot of the characters you dont know a whole lot about. But it was still a adrenaline rush for me. I stayed up all night binging the first season.
