Otome Game is a show that had me very hyped at the start, to then disappoint quite a bit.
The plot and characters are both good aspects from the beginning to the end: it's easy to see the source material was good.
The otome game world in which Leon gets reincarnated is quite interesting, as it's literally what you'd expect from a game of that genre: it's very half-baked, a lot of things don't make much sense from a design perspective and it's generally quite chaotic. Still, the amount of detail given about society and the world in general is quite indepth, making this bizzarre setting a
...
very unique one.
Leon himself is a very enjoyable character, as he is pretty much a cynical scum, has a lot of sarcasm, and is just basically pissed at the entire world because of those nonsensical rules it follows. The rest of the cast basically just serves to highlight Leon through the various arcs, but to be fair that's all this show needs to do.
Now, let's talk about the bad things. The whole execution of this show is just... brutal.
The further we go with the episodes, the more rushed everything seems, to the point we barely get any moments where the characters develop or even just interact. The animation quality drops lower episode by episode, the transitions are very hard to follow.
Even the art style is pretty bad, especially compared to the source material's.
With all this, it's really hard to just watch the show and not think about how much better it could have been with a better production, cause the room for improvement was immense and the story at the core was really solid.
Overall, the anime is still somewhat good if you manage to avoid thinking of what could have been... Can't really do much more than saying "What a shame".

I'll keep this short, since I'm no expert on ballet or anything.
Dance Dance Danseur is a show about chasing your dreams, with all the sacrifices that come with the process. But most of all, it is a work of art.
As someone who's never been a big fan of MAPPA, this time I can't do anything but praise them for the job they've done. The art, animation, coreographies, music, design of this show are of the highest quality, definitely the studio's best work so far and probably the best production work in the entire season.
As for the plot, it is a quite interesting story featuring 14-year
...
old characters, masterfully presented with their insecurities, fiery passions and everything characteristic of that age. The choices the protagonist is faced with never have a clearly "correct" and "wrong" answer, but they lead to very different paths of life.
Overall, this show was an absolute eye opener to me, as I wasn't even planning to watch it because I was hesitant on watching a ballet anime + it was handled by a studio I didn't like too much. I'm glad I had several people recommend it to me, and I feel like getting surprised as this show made me will make me more willing to watch anime that "aren't cool" at a first glance.

Aharen-san is a simple, wholesome, funny romantic comedy.
There is really not much to say about it, it's just a feel good show, a very good one at that. If you think this is just a Komi-san round 2... Well you're not entirely wrong, the similarities between the two shows are quite evident, but I'll say they have their fair share of differences.
Aharen-san has really a ton of funny gags, I don't think I've watched any of the episodes without laughing. While Reina herself is cute and clumsy, has some extremely memeable scenes but isn't really much more than that, Raidou is surely the MVP of
...
the show and one of the funniest male leads in recent romcoms. His way of talking, his imagination constantly running to extremes and his character design all contribute to making him funny in every situation.
Add the supporting cast featuring a handful of characters who, while not getting developments (which honestly this anime doesn't need) all have their respective gags which I found pleasantly enjoyable (special shoutout to Toubaru-sensei).
The art style is great, the OP and the ED both rock, the animation is solid when it needs to be.
Overall, Aharen-san is a great show to watch whenever you're looking for a lighthearted romcom.

Shokei Shoujo no Virgin Road was one of the most pleasant surprises of this Spring.
It presents a very interesting twist on the isekai genre, as the protagonist Menou is an executioner of the Church, tasked with killing otherworlders (basically, generic isekai protagonists who have a chance to blow up the world).
This spin alone makes the show worth a watch in my opinion, but fortunately the good things don't end with the base concept.
The worldbuilding is quite good, with a pretty original and well thought magic system and well detailed social classes.
The cast is great. Menou herself is a very interesting character, deeply influenced in
...
her way of thinking by her upbringing, but brought to question her way of life over the course of her journey with Akari, the girl she has to kill. All supporting characters are intriguing and the villains are well developed.
The production quality isn't stellar, but it's definitely above average.
Overall, the anime is a breath of fresh air for both the isekai and fantasy genre, and I'll be first in line on the wait for a sequel.

It'll be hard to keep this spoiler free, so this first part will be only about the first 11 episodes.
Rikekoi s2 is a fitting sequel to the series, for the most part even more enjoyable than season 1 as we continue following Yukimura and Himuro trying to prove their love (yeah, the ending of the first season apparently wasn't conclusive enough for them).
We also get pretty substantial development on all the other members of the Ikeda lab, and I've been loving all of it as it expands the show greatly. Fujiwara and Chris are great additions to the cast, providing us with some of
...
the funniest scenes in the show.
The comedy is still top notch as it was in the previous season, and the production quality is as solid.
If I were to rate this at the end of episode 11, it would easily be an 8/10.
Light spoilers below
________________________________________________________________
Episode 12 was a complete disaster. It feels like the lesson from season 1 wasn't learned, as we once again have to have the season with pointless drama conveniently created just because.
It's even worse this time, as from "everything is fine" we quickly jump to an almost-rape scene, which by the way is downplayed and treated as nothing we gotta worry about by Yukimura coming on screen to do some SCIENCE stuff cause that's the way of the show I guess?
Overall really tasteless ending, and I'm saying this as someone who doesn't see rape scenes as a taboo, I'm judging the cheap use of one for no plausible reason.
I'm having a hard time even rating this a 7 after the finale, thankfully all the previous Kanade and Ibarada-Kosuke developments were amazing.

Paripi Koumei was quite a unique experience, and as a result it's been a very fresh and enjoyable show.
I'll start by talking about the OP, cause realistically it is what made the anime blow up as it did in the first weeks of the season. Chiki Chiki Bam Bam is probably the best opening of all times, and that's not just cause it's a catchy song, but mostly cause it was paired with visuals so fitting, enjoyable, and somewhat memey that the video went viral and it became the main source of attraction for people wanting to check the show out.
The show itself is a
...
pretty original reincarnation story, where we get to see Zhuge Liang from Three Kingdoms come to the modern world and try to make a girl with a passion for singing into a worldwide star.
As someone who has zero knowledge about the Three Kingdoms period, be assured that you don't need to know anything about it to enjoy this anime.
The story is quite linear, without many knots, but for a show that rides mostly on emotions, that is completely fine.
The art and animation are amazing, honestly even more than what you would expect from an already great studio like PA Works. Paired with the sound, they are the main reason the anime is as good at conveying emotions as it is.
The songs are really good, and while they may seem repetitive cause they are sung multiple times, each time has enough of a difference in background, tone and visuals we're shown with it to feel unique.
Characters are quite interesting, each having their own struggles in and out of the music business, while Koumei is, as you'd expect, a big mastermind whose plans are very entertaining to watch; it's also quite funny to see him fitting into the modern world.
Overall, while this show is no masterpiece, with not much of a deeper meaning to look for, it is an extremely enjoyable ride I'd recommend for anyone.

Bookworm s3 is an alright sequel to the series, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't expecting a bit more.
The show's best quality still remains, as the worldbuilding keeps expanding with details on noble society, the church's duties, the merchants' lifestyle and much more. It is more of the more detailed, interesting, and "realistic" fantasy world I've seen in anime, and for that I will always be glad I watched this.
What I found somewhat lacking in this season was the execution: animation quality wasn't bad, but it still wasn't as good as the previous seasons, especially in the last few episodes.
...
The transitions were also particularly messy, to the point episode 9 felt very chaotic and badly arranged. This also clashed with the slow pacing and attention to detail the rest of the show had.
Characters were fine, as while Sylvester was a good addition to the show, the other nobles that were introduced felt pretty much like just basic dumb villains.
Overall, this was still not a bad continuation to the story, although I hope that if we get any more season production quality goes back to what it was previously.

I wasn't planning to leave a review on this but I feel like I really need to point this out. Not only this show's pacing is dreadful, it also tries to convince us it's really fast, as I had hear Deku himself proclaiming this last 9 month really flew by.
Let's make some quick maths over here: I've currently watched a whole 106 episodes of My Hero Academia. As Deku himself is saying, 9 months have passed since the begininng of the show. 9 months are roughly 270 days. This means the story advances on average by 2.55 days every episode. Let's not forget this
...
includes timeskips. Now I'll let you judge whether or not this 9 months flew by, but I personally feel like I've lived them myself.
Spoiler beginning:
We've been going for 4 seasons wondering how Deku became the strongest hero in the world... That's the first thing he said in the show. The answer was apparently much simpler than we expected: he has the strongest quirk in the world so it's all natural he becomes the #1 hero. Thanks a lot for the detailed documentary tho.
