I wasn't planning on writing a review for Hetalia world stars, especially this early, but the surprisingly low rating on the very first day it got released had caught me off guard and had me wondering if it was another April fool's joke for a second. I mean...a 6.4??? Really? And it was also just the first episode, which also happens to be no more than five minutes, so I just find it hard to believe that so many didn't like it right off the bat, and why so many dislike it so far.
I, for one, thought that it was really good. The animation was
...
very pretty and smooth overall. It also seems to be loyal to the manga so far, which I'm really glad about, not to mention the amazing theme song that was both catchy and super adorable. The only thing I could think of was the change in animation and unfortunately short number of episodes, but other than that, it was a great first episode, and the other three that followed keep getting better and better, with the appearance of new characters and an improved style of humour when compared to the previous seasons, so I hope the rating goes up soon instead of seeing so many hating on it just for it being hetalia, and cling on to whatever reputation or fandom it had in the past as a basis to why they think it's the ultimate disgrace to all anime that should be taken down, it's just ridiculous at this point.

If I had to describe Tokyo ghoul in two words it would be major disappointment. The only good thing that came out of it was that it made me read the manga after finishing it when I read the reviews complaining about how they changed everything, which only made me hate the anime even more because the manga surprisingly blew me away with how complex it was in almost every aspect.
Art and animation : I've never really heard many comment on it but it was dreadful. The colours were way too bright and it was just so irritating, and was a terrible contrast to
...
the supposed dark theme of the anime. The animation was done terribly, especially with the kagunes and fight scenes that were just so dull and unengaging, and dont even get me started on the half-assed censoring, I've literally seen anime from the 2000's with better animation when it came to action scenes.
Story : For an anime that was intended to be dark and mysterious, it lacked more depth than a slice of life anime. The whole thing was just so rushed and tried way too hard to be all edgy and depressing, just by having some charecters that I couldn't even bring myself to care for die and the protagonist have a mental breakdown every five seconds. The plot just ended up being so bland and empty, with nothing even making any sense sometimes, every episode would just start off with a new problem without even developing the last.
Charecters : They were just as dull and generic as the plot. Their personalities felt like they were written at a surface level, with barely any development and only one cliché characteristic that distinguishes them from the rest, which made it hard for me to connect and sympathize with them, aside from the torture scene at the end which is frankly the only scene that was well written, despite still straying away from the manga.
What upsets me the most was the great potential it held to be astounding had it stayed faithful to the manga, and didn't attempt to try and cram around 60 chapters into just 12 episodes that weren't even enjoyable.

Maybe it's because I started steins gate with really high expectations because of all the hype and praise from all the fans and even critics alike, but I was really disappointed. Everyone kept describing it as the best time travel anime, an extraordinary and complex anime only for 'smart' people that never fails to amaze you, and one of the greatest anime of all time, but honestly it was none of those things, at least for me. What was described as a complex anime honestly lacked so much depth. I would mostly spend my time watching it waiting for the so called godly moments and
...
intrigue everyone gushed about, and being ultimately disappointed when they never came, and recalling why entering an anime with high expectations is never a good idea and reprimanding myself for it. It felt pretty generic at times, and the plot twists felt like they were only done for the shock factor due to their lack of development, they weren't the type to make you freak out and go like 'OMG WHAT I NEVER EXPECTED THAT' like everyone made me think. There were plot holes that were pretty bothersome to me, and some shouldn't have even existed considering the fact there was a genius with a published academic paper or a person who managed to build a time machine. There were also a few significant things that had happened or were mentioned, but they were never brought up again. A few important things that were also mentioned felt like they were only explained at a surface level, especially with sern. The charecters and their development weren't all that good as well, t times feeling really bland and dull.
Spoilers starting from here:
A few of them were that clip of mayuri talking about her and okabe travelling back millions of years in time, and how they were going to most likely die there. Or kurisu working for sern in the future. There was also a time she figured out he time leaped from his sudden grief struck facial expression, but somehow didn't for the other times, even though they were all just as obvious. Many things weren't explained well despite their significance, like who was sern and FB exactly, and what happened in thee future. The reveal of who suzuha's father was honestly so disappointing, I dont know why it had to be revealed like that. I also felt like Mr braun's plot twist wasn't developed well, and the romance between okabe and kurisu was really dull and lacking. There were also a few others but these were what got on my nerves most throughout the show.

I dont know if this is just my opinion, but I found it to be very boring. The plot was weak and I felt like a lot of stuff either didn't make sense or were just over the top and unrealistic. The protagonist had a very plain personality, and the other characters felt one dimensional and uninteresting. i was forcing myself to watch the anime from episode one hoping it would get better, but gave up because I found it impossible to enjoy myself. I dont really recommend this anime to anyone unless they dont mind a dead plot with hot gods as love interests.

Let me just start off by saying the series had so much more potential to be much better. Not going to lie, I only started to genuinely enjoy the series halfway through, when the plot seemed to be actually going somewhere, even then, it was sometimes unclear or uninteresting and the ending wasn't that satisfactory. Aside from the various plot holes, I felt like the show had a lot of filler episodes, and that they were often unnecessary , especially the ones in the beginning. Still, I enjoyed it and think it's safe to say it's an interesting anime. The fantasy elements were pretty
...
gripping as well, and one of my favorites was its unique version of grim repears. I liked the characters of season 1 more than the plot itself, as it lost a bit of its appeal as the show progressed. It'll forever hold a special place in my heart though, as its one of the first anime I have ever watched, and the experience was really fun for me.

I discovered this anime through an Instagram edit, and I remember thinking 'wow they're so pretty', and then decided to watch it thinking that it would actually be nice, but boy was I wrong. Aside from the pretty characters, the show was terrible. The plot and characters were poorly developed, and made little progress. The main heroine had no personality, and was capable of nothing but whimpering and being pathetically submissive no matter what abuse she had to endure. I dont mind 'weak' and shy characters as long as they're written properly and develop over time, but Yui 's character was just beyond ridiculous. The
...
anime is also extremely problematic and all her 'love interests' were abusive and would degrade her every chance they get for no absolute reason, and not once was she treated even normally. The episodes were only 12 minutes, and literally half of it was just her being harassed in some way by a different character. What bothers me is that the male cast had some potential to be interesting characters if they weren't such assholes, but some defend them because of their abusive past or whatever. I get that this show is directed for masochists, but the heroine isn't even enjoying it. I have never watched anything so poorly executed before, and I can go on forever listing all its flaws, so I highly suggest you dont watch it
