Kyuuketsuki Sugu Shinu

I think that Kyuuketsuki Sugu Shinu is similar in humor to Gintama, though I will say that Gintama relies a lot more on references. Kyuuketsuki really does remind me of early Gintama. The characters relationships in Kyuuketsuki remind me of Gintama. The supporting characters show up often enough to make their situations comedic without being annoying in both shows. The characters bounce off each other well in each show. Some of the characters in Kyuuketsuki parallel the characters in Gintama. You could say Ronald is to Gintoki, Draluc is to Shinpatchi, John is to Sadaharu. You could argue that Hinaichi is to Kagura, though personally I don’t think their characters are that similar. In conclusion, Kyuuketsuki has a lot of elements of Gintama. I’ve gotta say, between the two Gintama definitely does it better. Probably because you spend more time with the characters, and they just grow on you. I think Kyuuketsuki is getting a second season though, so I hope I start to appreciate the characters even more. If you haven’t watched Gintama you should give it a watch.
