Both the main characters find themselves thrown into a situation they'd never think they would be able to help in, but it ends up being the opposite.

Both of these anime have the main character wondering to themselves which of two people they must save. They know that even if they manage to save one person, it's painful to lose the other, and they must find some way to save both of them. This can include making decisions that have big risks, losing memories, and possibly not meeting someone in the first place. They will do whatever it takes to make sure that everyone is happy in the end.
