I think this season was much better. The first few episodes were great; the setting of the entertainment industry was explored very well, besides a few oversimplifications, and I could really grasp the potential of Oshi no Ko. The pacing was good for the most part, and the production was decent. Also some of the drama was great.
That being said, the dialogue and most of the characters are not great. I think Akane is the only character of the main cast that I find believable and enjoyable to watch; the others are too cartoonish and annoying.
The plot isn't great neither, it is frequently dumb. In
...
particular, I dislike how the characters act so competitive towards each other during the play, I don't think it's believable, nor does it make a good story. It appears like the show is trying to appeal to teenagers with cheap emotional bits, meanwhile throwing logic out of the window.
Overall, a good season from a mediocre series.

This is a show that no one will enjoy, save for edgy teenagers. It lacks so much nuance in its discourse and everything is either black or white, and usually senseless.
In this show, the mc has the dream of becoming one of the strongest mages, but he cannot cast spells. Then the show tries to discuss talent, and prejudice towards those without talent; but, to no one's surprise, the mc has a hidden talent and is actually op! And the people that bullied him are plainly evil. Their believes and points of view boil down to antagonistic, without any trace of nuance. Also the hero
...
is praised many times during the first episode (by cute girls, mind you) for being kind.
All of this is complete nonsense, and these messages are not even close to how things really work in our world. There is a discussion about talent to be had, the same for bullying, and the same for kindness and what it means to bring value to the people around you. But the show goes as deep in these topics as a leaf floating over a lake.
Also the anime looks weird, the dialogue is cringe, and our beloved duo of expositive dialogue and flashbacks is present at episode 1 already.
That being said, I like the fights; and Harry Potter is fun, and this is basically Harry Potter 2.0, so I guess it could be worse.

The pacing is bad. It is extremely slow; the story barely crawls forward. This fact is mostly due to how bad the dialogue is unfortunately.
There is way too much dialogue and it hurts the pacing real bad; there are scenes with twice as much dialogue as needed.
Less is more, and the same is true for dialogue; a good writer should strive to tell his or her story with just the right amount of words. There is no need to insult the viewers' intellects by spelling out everything happening on screen.
Besides this, the show is good. There are some other problematic elements: The occasional voice and
...
animation desync, a lot of flashbacks, characters acting in cartoonish ways, and some dumb op abilities.
And there are some good elements: Nice animation, cool premise, interesting messages, and a good mix of hope and despair as the main themes of the story.
Overall, bad dialogue is the main problem of Re:Zero and it is not going anywhere.

Pretty good as always, Konosuba never disappoints. It is one of the funniest series I've ever seen, and the plot works sometimes.
The series is great, but I think the quality of each scene varies too greatly from a 5/10 to a 10/10: there are some scenes that I think should have been played for comedy, but that were played for drama instead, and I think overall the series should embrace more of comedy, as it is not as proficient at drama.
Also I think there were some obvious jokes that the writers missed somehow. There is a scene in which one of the characters brings a
...
giant frog to a party and it starts trashing the place, but we only hear it as a conversation in the background while Kasuma is outside the room. Later in the same scene, Kasuma comes back to the room, and this would have been the perfect moment to reintroduce the joke and the giant frog, but it never happened; which is a shame as I think it would've been hilarious to see the frog come back, and a great example of set up and pay off - and there are quite a few similar moments in this season. The same goes for the plot, some moments felt like the plot had an obvious amazing direction to take, but it went the completely other way - which was still good, just not as good.
Overall, I recommend Konosuba a lot. But if you (somehow) don't like this style of comedy, then maybe you won't enjoy the series, as it focuses mostly on comedy.

Season 2 of Otome Game Flag is similar to season 1. The plot is actually better at parts, but the pacing took a huge hit, mostly because there is almost no tension nor stakes in most of the scenes; which causes them to feel dull and makes the viewers scream in agony, praying for anything interesting to happen!
Not only that, but the pacing also suffers greatly because of the flood of flashbacks:
- Episode 5 has 10 minutes and 40 seconds of flashbacks, when as little as 2 min 10 sec would've been good enough to tell the story.
- Episode 6 has a 11 minutes and
...
50 seconds flashback, which provides no character development nor plot progression and feels like a filler. There are two more flashbacks on this same episode.
Moreover, there is also a lack of meaningful consequences in here. Some major plot developments happen, but their consequences are brushed aside by characters deciding to not give them much value. I'll come up with a similar example to what happens in the anime, in order to give no spoiler: Imagine if a character was caught cheating on someone by the end of an arc, and everyone tells him how bad it is and no one likes this character anymore. But, by the next time this character is shown on screen, everyone has already forgiven him and they are friends again, as if his cheating never happened.
Furthermore, the same premises from season 1 are being reused here: episode 7 repeats the premise of an episode from season 1 almost to the details; meanwhile the exact same plot hook happened three times by the ending of this season. These are problems because these arcs become predictable, and the pacing is heavily damaged by having such similar scenarios repeating.
The comedy of Flag is still solid, but we cannot take the story serious when it focuses on plot, because all that the plot boils down to is either A) everyone loves the mc that has barely any qualities; or B) the mc with barely any qualities randomly solves a problem because the plot demands so, and not because she actually struggles and had to grow.
Not only that, but the mc has barely any motivations. So, again, focusing on plot instead of comedy is soooo hard for Flag, in big part because the show is so afraid of either changing itself or developing its premise.
Two things that had to happen this season were: A) for the love interests to develop their relationships with the mc (either by creating deeper reciprocal connections, or by finally giving up on her as a love interest); and B) the mc had to undergo character growth: she had to fail at some point in the story, in order for her to realize that she needs to change to overcome the new challenges presented to her. But both of these things are barely even present this season.
Overall, the premise of Flag is really getting old by this point, and the plot is not innovating nearly enough to make up for it. The series still has its strengths, but I find at least half of this season to be extremely boring, and I had to watch multiple episodes at 2x speed in order to not drop the series altogether, so I would recommend to drop the show.
obs: during episode 9, characters started pretending they were in season 8 of game of thrones and started teleporting all around the place...

Otome Game Flag is quite a good comedy. It is fun, the pacing is okay, the characters are charismatic, the production is okay, the intro is good, and the jokes and comedic scenarios are mostly good.
That being said, I watched from episodes 1-7 in basically one sitting, but the second half of the show was much worse, because the comedy started to get stale and the focus from the series changed drastically to drama
And, unfortunately, Flag does not work well as a drama nor as a romance; mostly because of three reasons:
1st - The heroine's personality. She is just too dumb and it is
...
impossible to take her serious;
2nd - How the protagonist achieves so much just because of her compassion. She does not work hard, nor smart, nor strategically. Instead she just solves all her problems by being empathetic and somewhat nice to others, and this makes no sense and also removes much of the investment the viewers could have for her;
3rd - The extreme way most of the cast regards the protagonist is too absurd to be taken seriously. This works perfectly well for the comedic and slice of life aspects of the show; but it also makes the drama and romance very hard to digest.
Overall, Flag is a solid comedy anime that fails miserably when it shifts its focus to drama and plot progression, as the show is unbelievably boring regarding its romance and drama.
It is also worth mentioning that there is a clear disconect between the light-hearted comedy and the high stakes of some of the plot points near the ending of this season. I don't think this is a major flaw, and I believe that fixing other aspects of the show could definitely alleviate this problem
I would recommend watching the show until episode 9, as it is quite entertaining. I would not recommend watching the last arc as it is bland, uninspired, and extremely boring.

First I must say that the voice acting in here is truly great - the best selling point of the show imo; incredible work.
But, unfortunately, the production is lacking. There is an exaggerated use of still images, and the fights scenes are mostly underwhelming because of the poor production.
On the other hand, the pacing and plot are both hit or miss at times. The story goes from enjoyable with a great pacing, to scenes that should be twice as long, to a sequence of scenes in which nothing is happening. And the same goes for the plot, which fluctuates between overly complex and stupidly simple.
To
...
put it simply, the second season of Eminence in Shadows is more of the first, with some improvements. The comedy is fun, and you should expect the same attitude from the show of doing cool things for the sake of it, and fuck logic and progression; which isn't bad by any means. But, again, there's no reason why the mc must one shot the final boss every time, instead, I would love to see him struggling more during fights.
Overall, solid season, I will definitely watch season 3. But I hope the production gets better.

Bocchi the rock is a good anime:
- The plot is compelling
- Funny sometimes
- It is fun overall
But it is definitely not a 9/10, so the rest of this review will try to point this out. The show is good though, it is just not nearly as good as its reputation.
The 20% best parts of this show are great, maybe 9/10, but the other 80% (usually the slice of life parts) are nothing to write home about, and they do are the majority of the show.
The main problem in Bocchi the rock is that it tries to be 3 different types of stories - a journey
...
of self-improvement done by a teenager that suffers from social anxiety; also a drama about the struggles of a highschool band; and, lastly, a slice of life.
But the series doesn't manage to be great in any of these fronts. It is not bad either, it is just somewhat flawed and could definitely improve.
The first two types of stories - high school band and fighting anxiety - present problems thanks to how the show starts of:
1st - the mc starting off as an amazing musician kind of defeats the purpose of telling the story of Bocchi becoming a pro musician - and about the band becoming famous, to a certain extension - as Bocchi has kind of become a pro already. Now she just needs to deal with her social anxiety, and she will be more successful than 90% of the musicians in the industry. Also this part of the show - the development of the band - does not receive as much focus as it could.
2nd - the time skip at the start really made no sense, as Bocchi's journey to combat her social anxiety by playing her guitar actually started 3 years prior to the show. Thanks to this, the anime does a poor job of telling this part of the story, as we miss the first 3 years of it, what is huge. This problem could have been solved by keeping the story the same as it is, but not starting the series with these scenes in the past - and maybe only adding them as a flashback later on. This would also create some sort of intrigue about her background, and could lead to some cool scenes, and to more drama overall.
In the end, the show is somewhat flawed in its telling of both of its main themes and conflicts - the journey of an amateur musician and the story of a girl with social anxiety trying to overcome it. Both of these stories are not terrible, but they could definitely improve. The amateur musician is already an amazing guitarist and the story of the girl with social anxiety presents a 3 year gap with no development.
Also, social anxiety is not in reality how it is depicted here, but I won't get into details because, honestly, it's been a month since I watched the show and forgot to write this part down...
Regarding the last story Bocchi the Rock is telling, slice of life, the problem is that the characters are somewhat unlikable for a slice of life. Let me explain:
- Some of the secondary characters are cliches and that's it - as the blonde girl's sister, her friend, and the girl that only drinks;
- The redhead is a joke character that does not add up as a real person;
- The blonde girl is boring tbh, she is too average and well rounded, there is nothing especial about her and her role as a character is too similar to the redhead, so they become kind of redundant - you can try this at home, read a dialogue from one of the two and try to guess which one said it, it is rly not that easy - examples: "Now, now. No fighting!" "I doubt we'll get that many people (spectators), of course... But I sure hope we get a lot" "You bet we will!" "Hey, it's no biggie! We had fun too! Thanks!" "Hey! I brought a group (of customers)!"
- Imo the mc is annoying in the way her social anxiety is portrayed, I think it would make sense in the context of a manga, but it does not work so well for an anime as it drags the story to a halt sometimes, and distracts the viewer from the plot. Many times, while watching her having a meltdown or a social conflict, I just wanted it to be over already, so we could finally get back to advancing the plot;
- The blue haired girl is nice, she is a fine character tbh.
All in all, I would recommend the show, it is fine. It is fun. But it is not great though - the plot could be better and the characters as well.

It's an... interesting show. I enjoy the genre quite a bit and Munou na Nana does a lot of things differently.
The world is too simple, but still interesting sometimes, the characters and the setting are too cliche honestly, but still enjoyable. The plot twists are very good though, so is character development.
But it has some flaws. Character behavior is pretty flawed from time to time, with some characters having quite insane ideals they will cling to even in the face of life and death situations.
One of the arcs also feels very out of place, accomplishing almost nothing in the grand scheme of things. While the
...
last arc destroys too much of the arc structure imo, as it is way longer and has a very different tone.
So... the show is interesting and exciting. It has some good moments and also has some meh moments. Nothing is really bad though and the plot is absorbing and the characters are cool. I like it.
On a second thought, I think this show might have gotten carried by its great pacing. The plot is predictable (besides the plot twists) and doesn't do much that hasn't been done already, and the show also challenges too much of the viewers' sense of disbelief with a few characters' actions and most of its worldbuilding, but the pacing is so great that all of that doesn't impose much of a problem.

This anime does some things well, and some others rly bad. There are huge flaws and most of them are quite easy to spot; but if you can look past them and focus on its positives - which are amazing! - then here you have a must watch.
Also, if you are looking for self improvement in your stories (writting, rpgs, or other medias), you will learn a lot about what to do and what to avoid with Chaos Child.
Positives:
There isn't much or maybe any fanservice (This is not exactly a strong point, but fanservice would be a problem for the story this show is trying
...
to tell);
Amazing main plot;
Top tier opening;
Some good characters;
Great character development of the main character;
Nice message at the ending;
Chaos Child is a suspense story in which you have the tools to realize what is going on before the ending - in a great way!
Really good at being gross and talking about human behavior - similar to what Evangelion does, but simpler, which I'd argue is better.
Negatives:
This anime is terrible at being a sequel;
Bad side plots, that lack screen time and proper conclusions;
This anime shows how to not make an adaptation. It doesn't cut nor rework material that definitely needed to be adjusted and trimmed;
There are many characters here just because they were in the source material, and they serve little to no purpose;
Bad/terrible character development for most of the secondary characters;
Many things doesn't make sense (like the lack of police);
Very difficult to understand what is happening during some scenes;
Terrible pacing: sometimes too slow and, even worse, too fast during some of the most important plot moments.
In the end, Chaos Child presents the viewer with an amazing plot, but that's basically it. I'd argue it is very worth watching for the plot alone - as it is truly great - even if almost everything else around it is, let's say, "suboptimal"
