After more than 10 years of broadcasting, the end of Attack on Titan is finally here and I must say that I am happy and at the same time sad. This work has accompanied me for more than 10 years of my life when I was a teenager I kind of grew up with it so seeing it ending feels like I'm saying goodbye to an old friend.

I could tell you about the animation which was overall of very good quality, the story which was exceptional or even the characters that I adored and who are now part of my memories but that ... would be way too long. I'm quite sad to say goodbye to 10 years of my life. Maybe people don't understand it and might find it cringe or embarrassing but to me SNK was something really special to me. Obviously Isayama's incredible writing, the music, the animation all of these things are the reasons why his work is so popular and why SNK to me is probably the best manga ever and I'm actually not exagerating. Not a single other anime made me feel that way other than SNK. All of the reveal scenes with Eren, the action scenes with Erwin or Floch, all of that just made the anime awsome in my opinion.This last episode for me overall lives up to what one could have expected.

There was no major change compared to the Manga and in the end I think it's not worse overall the fights were very good the atmosphere and the OST was exceptional and The ending no matter what other people says is fitting to me, it's not incredible but it's suitable and logical. Keep in mind that finishing a really famous anime or manga like that is very difficult because loads of people are waiting for it. Finishing the story with a loop might be simplistic but unfortunatly it is the harsh truth of the world we live in. yes the war will continue whatever the cost and for myself if it's a simple ending I think it partly corresponds to what the work has been trying to make us understand from the beginning.

Having a preference for the pro-yeager in particular Floch (whom I find exceptional elsewhere and very underrated) a total extermination of the population would not have changed the purpose of the work certainly here we have the impression that the power of love to save the world but we must not forget that Eren never really wanted to become the villain of the story he simply aspired to a happy life with Mikasa (who became much more interesting and complete with his last episode) which he will never have in the end. obviously we can also consider it damaging that there is a happy ending on certain aspects (no death except Eren) but once again the story explains to us that Eren just chose the only valid option for his friends because above all it is an egoist like Ymir , that's why at the end Eren completely detaches himself from the ideas that people may have had of a fascist villain who only seeks eradication. I have some regrets regarding certain additions that could have been made to develop the relationship of certain characters but once again I am perhaps a little excessive, the poor animators of Mappa seem to have suffered extremely with snk and I can only thank them for giving so much energy to make it an excellent finale even if it took a long time (final season of 3 years) To be completely honest with everyone last night when the The episode ended and we didn't have the "to be continued" but a " The end" me and my friends were sad and I don't think we were the only ones.

To conclude, I take advantage of this review (which is rather praise) To thank Isayama for creating a work that made me experience so many emotions, Wit studio and Mappa who were able to provide worthy animation for snk despite some rather doubtful moments and a scandalous broadcast rate, Sawano, Yamamoto, Linked Horizon and all the others for being able to make me experience so much with the OST and obviously Yuki kaji, Ono, Daisuke, Ishikawa Yui etc. for appropriating the characters and to have made them human and above all alive. In short, yes, it's not a work without flaws, far from it, but it nevertheless remains an exceptional work, so thank you for everything and thank you to everyone for following this adventure.

*Spoiler Review*

Since the end of season 3 I have become a huge fan of Snk I think about it every day it has become a real obsession so when the announcement of season 4 I was very hyped even if there was a change of studio I had confidence I said to myself that no one could destroy a work so dear to my heart then the trailer was released and the chara design with it. I was obviously very surprised at the beginning because it was absolutely not the same as with Wit Studio but it seemed really good and when the first episode ... arrived we learned that the studio had not a lot of time to do this season (around 6-7 months) and that Mappa had taken charge of the project because no other studio wanted to take over snk because of the workload and the time to release the sequel. So I was a little scared to be honest but I will try to give you my opinion and tell you why this season is a success but that Mappa's situation is representative of the Japanese animation industry.

Story 10/10 :

Unsurprisingly with season 4 we learn a lot more about Mahr and the motivation of the different characters. we follow the point of view of Gaby and her aspiring friends etc ... (I will not tell the story in detail) So the more the episodes advance the more the story develops and we go from surprise to surprise it's just amazing especially if you haven't read the manga you can't predict future events and when you think you're on the right track you end up completely lost it's still a stroke of genius on the part of Isayama. Elements and moments of the story that are in season 1 are now explained and everything becomes logical, notably the story of the Ackermans or Sieg Jäger the motivations of each character. To conclude at the end of this first part you find yourself with too many questions which will be explained later and between each episodes you form new theories which are for the most part destroyed the episodes after it's just a pleasure to share theories with people every Sunday evening. in short, to conclude it is really one of the rare stories to build so well in the world of manga and I am weighing my words.

Sound 10/10 :

Once again as for all the other seasons the opening music was incredible even if at the first listening the opening seems strange but in the end for me it is probably one of the best opening of snk it's just incredible the lyrics make lot of semse so a big congratulations to Shinsei Kamattechan the ending remains more classic but still very nice. For the ost we have the arrival of Kohta Yamamoto who works on the ost of Mahr such as Ashes on The Fire and Hiroyuki Sawano always so incredible that said a small problem of music during episode 5 and the transformation of Eren at the end from Willy Tybur's speech in a personal capacity it is the first time that I was disappointed with the use of a music in such an important moment of snk otherwise on the whole it always remains at the top notament during the battle of Revelio.


Character 10/10 :

Do I really need to talk about the characters in snk? All the characters without exception are amazing I have rarely seen so many good characters in an anime. I'll give you an example Sieg Jäger that I previously hate because he was partly responsible for the death of my favorite character (Erwin) yet as this season I learned and understood his motivation and in the end even if I still have a grudge I have a little more compassion for him. Another example the death of Sasha Braus was horrible for me I really felt enormous pain and sadness for a week I cried a lot all because of the death of one of my favorite characters it's literally the last character to bring some humor to the dark world of snk and now it's over. I could very well talk about Reiner who has a very interesting behavior or Gaby who is a representation of Eren petit on the side of Mahr or even of Floch who has a superb evolution compared to season 3 but I would say that the most incredible c ' is Eren's transformation he has become impacable he has a goal and will do anything to achieve it he has no limits and the tear with Armin and Mikasa is just dramatic short it's just amazing but at the same time so hard to see .


Studio ?/10 :

Well this is the hardest moment of the criticism Mappa did a very good job must be recognized yes there are a lot of CGIs and I don't like it compared to the titan of the seasons before (except the colosal) but overall to say that Mappa made snk bad is to say crap. Making such a qualitative adaptation in such a short time is really an exploit so bravo to the host that said I'm sorry but because of the very very dubious choice on the part of the Mappa committee who just wanted to outdo the hype at the end of the manga we had the right to this quick release. I explain if the studio had had all the time they should have had to be able to do the animation of snk we would not have had this CGI outrageously and still shots I repeat the animation remains good in the whole thing but I'm just disappointed that Mappa didn't have the time and that the animators had to work so long to end up being often insulted on social networks because the adaptation does not necessarily correspond to the often excessive expectations (but understandable) people it's rather hard in the end to say which of Mappa or Wit studio is better for snk I think that the two studios are good competitors and that in the end yes Wit studio is inseparable from snk but Mappa can conclude in a spectacular way the work and I hope that will be the case.

To conclude I really think that this season of snk is incredible on many points but which has two three defeats that said it is not what will make you not appreciate this season it is less good than season 3 P2 but really remains in the same line as the rest so I hope with all my heart that the rest (they are 1 year old) will take a higher level with less CGI that's all I ask and I beg Mappa to take his time if they have not finished so that Snk can have a memorable final adaptation for the next 10 years so that we can realize that it point Snk is a brilliant work.

*Spoiler Review*

I'm not a fan of Snk (more than before now) but I liked to watch the anime because it's a quality job, except that since the release of season 3, part 2, I really understood what Snk is ... You do not have to be a fan to understand that this adaptation is probably part of the best manga adaptation of the last 10 years . To say that it's just an anime action is really badly know the ... work and the problems it raises . After all revelations if you return look at the previous seasons you will have the right to a new way of seeing things in the universe of SNK and you will understand why finally the author is really a genius.




Story 10/10 : Breathtaking and surprising story especially if you have not read the manga it opens up really interesting possibilities for the manga when you do not know more in addition to that it's really well explained and there is a lot of historical reference that gives a lot of background to the story. The path of the episode 7 is maybe a little long but it is so exiting because are finally the revelation that everybody waits and even flashbacks are really very interesting. Sacrifice, courage and death for one's homeland are the central elements of this part which personally I liked a lot.



Sound 10/10 : Exceptional music that fits perfectly with the atmosphere even the opening and the ending really sticks to the mood of the season.once again Linked Horizon managed to make a very good opening obviously less striking than any other but still good and Sawano is really out of category he really transforms some scene: Erwin's Charge Theme and The Owl Theme.



Character 10/10 : Character really well written and better transcribed in anime Erwin typically is probably the most underside character of snk but yet he's really great in this season it's also him who really makes me love this season. There is really a change of character in some characters between the beginning and the end of the season and you see that the disappearance of some character completely upset the characters. Then there is also an ethical choice that is really well transposed into anime Erwin or Armin. There are good reasons to choose Erwin as there are good reasons to choose Armin they are also explain clearly but in the end what I find the most beautiful is that it is Erwin himself who chose for everyone with his hands and Livai who seems really sad so far he remains strong.




Studio 9/10 : Is not content to resume the manga but the completely sublimated it's very rare and pausing between different parts of the adaptation is really a good idea and gives more chance to have a good animation like here so yes it's not the best animation in the world I agree but it is so efficient when it has to be (Livai moment) (Berthold Transformation) Once again congratulations and I hope not to see a change of studio for the rest of the anime because for me Snk is sublimated by Wit Studio.



To conclude I think that after this adaptation I understand perfectly why I like Japanese animation and why after so much anime to watch I still love so much. In the end we can even be surprised even in 2019 may be that the continuation of the anime will be less good etc ... but in any case this part is the most successful until now.
